Excellent video presentation, Elias! During my guiding days, off Marco Island and Naples FL, I would jig the docks when the weather prevented me from fishing offshore. I exclusively vertical- jigged bare metal jigs like the Crippled Herring and Sonic BaitFish on the shaded side of those docks, especially for snook. In most cases, the jigs caught the gamefish without being bothered by other types of fish. Many times the metal jigs out-fished natural bait regardless where I fished across the country. The flash and vibration of the working jig often even out-fished live bait fish. It was the downward, fluttering action of the jig that triggered the strikes.
I just picked up a Stradic 5000 and was very impressed with its weight compared to my IRT 300. Definitely improved sensitivity on the rod and better reel control pulling up a good fish.
I am with you, in Banks Channel along that stretch towards Masonboro Inlet, anything is possible. I have caught King Mackerel in that Channel...... but what you lost in my opinion were very, very, very big.................. Sheepshead. Great video.
I have always wondered this, is it poor etiquette to "park" your kayak on someone's dock or is this ok to do? I like to fish docks but the current always takes you away faster then you can get more then 1 or 2 casts in. If this is acceptable, I will just wedge my kayak in there and go to town. Thanks for the feedback
Hate to see those big ones cutting you off like that. Would using 12-18” of light, coated wire leader cost you that many bites when you’re using live crabs?
Nice vid I think I know exactly where you were fishing at but could be wrong but I did grow up right in Wilmington and still live about 20mins outside of it would be awesome to run into you on the water sometime anyways great catches too and weird to see you lose fish but yeah take it easy
Elias, been watching your crab jig videos - I don’t use bait, but… I put a strip of crab fishbite on a similar jig and caught a nice red yesterday, total experiment and big surprise, shock really ! I’d be very interested if you tried this and found success.
Marine fisheries says they’re over fished. We went from an open season to 6 weeks to 2 weeks in just three years. I had never seen so many flounder in the years leading up to the season lockdown. 🤨
I'd really like to have a kayak like yours so I can go fishing in spots I can't reach in land unfortunately I'm just a 15 years old kid who doesn't have any money 😅😅🙂🥺
Elias, Show us your day!
The good or the bad.
Prayers sent for Meg,
Elias.
God bless
Love how you kept it reel, did that recently to. Shows not all days are glamorous. Lost fish, and alot of ground covered to make videos
Honestly, my favorite part was watching you lose some fish for once. Quit being so awesome Elias! you're making the rest of us look bad
Love all the unique fish adjectives!
Thanks, Elias!
Those are a couple beauties pulling on that rod. Another great episode by you brother , keep them coming.
@3:53 “felt like trash fish to me” hot damn Elias! You’ve been catching too many good ones hahahahahaha
Another Tuesday, another solid video! Bummer for the break-offs, but that's why we come back.
Excellent video presentation, Elias!

The first fish you caught looked like a sheep's head, glad you know your fish better than I do!
Nice some good eating coming up....Fish on..
Caught a 33in cobia off those piers last year, definitely no telling to what you can catch in that area. It's awesome
It's horrible to lose them without getting a peek at them. I feel your pain.
"What kind of crackhead fish is this" LOL
I am always anxious for your new videos! Great job! Absolutely love your channel!
When elias gets owed...you KNOW. SERIOUS FISH
That water vizibility looked amazing for that area!
I love your channel. I get sea sick so I live precariously through you!
That burrfish was cool 😎 🐟
Nice video but I still miss you doormat fluke fishing in NY under that giant bridge.
I just picked up a Stradic 5000 and was very impressed with its weight compared to my IRT 300. Definitely improved sensitivity on the rod and better reel control pulling up a good fish.
Well yeah plastic is going to be a lot lighter than aluminum.
Nice sheepshead and black drum - nice video
Man that water is beautiful! Pretty sure we don't get clarity like that very often in Morehead
I am with you, in Banks Channel along that stretch towards Masonboro Inlet, anything is possible. I have caught King Mackerel in that Channel...... but what you lost in my opinion were very, very, very big.................. Sheepshead. Great video.
Hey Elias. Nice Sheep. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Elias, can you add what kind of net you use in this video in the gear section of the description. brand/hoop size/depth etc. Thanks

Good video, Elias!
Hey Elias, what lens you rocking on the Costa please?
Thank you for the advice when baiting up.
I thumbs up ever video you keep Sheepshead in. OH I want some so bad, got plenty of Pompano but no Sheepshead this year.
What net do you use?
I used to fish the Columbia Island Marina (Pentagon) in a kayak always embarrassing when I'd hook a boat or a rope
Another great vid
Another great video!!
Hate to see those big ones cutting you off like that. Would using 12-18” of light, coated wire leader cost you that many bites when you’re using live crabs?
Always enjoy your trips
Thank u
superbe cession comme d'habitude super
Wow.....nice kayak with everything !!! I'm very jealous.....(Maybe not everything....it doesn't have me in it)
Another great video! I can't wait till my kayak comes in and I can do some of the same fishing
Are you fishing in little river south Carolina?
Upper slot reds my guess. They’ve broke me off more than a few times around docks.
Elias…..is there an effective way to fish for Sheepshead from land? Would public docks hold some?
I would try the ocean piers right next to the pilings.
Love watching ur vids Elias! Was wondering how you like your Stradic FL compared to the Daiwa Fuego LT? Was curious which you like better and why?
Did you fix your drive unit or get another one? Another great video. Nice job!
what state you fishing?
Bravo!
Hey what are the best tides to dockfish big creeks like this
Hey Elias are you hitting these docks up on falling Tide or rising tide.
Eliasvfishing do you ever fish out of laniers campground???
If you do i think i met you once or twice lol you put me on a couple spots out there and hooked me up with some baits
I know here in Florida I would have guessed the big (strong) mystery fish to be grouper. Do you guys get grouper around your inshore docks in NC?
Small Gag Grouper, typically nothing big enough to break off an angler like Elias, but it’s certainly possible.
What kind of rod and what kind of model you were using medium heavy or something else?
Love the close quarters combat fishing. Do you ever go mainline directly to leader or do you always use a swivel when jigging?
Both
Wow great strek, success is always greetings curved fishing rod jor
8:30 !!
Rod goes "I'm going down to the bottom" !!
Is there any chance you can do a video on some of your favorite sheepshead recipes?
Nice vid I think I know exactly where you were fishing at but could be wrong but I did grow up right in Wilmington and still live about 20mins outside of it would be awesome to run into you on the water sometime anyways great catches too and weird to see you lose fish but yeah take it easy
Muito bom o seu video... qual lugar é este que você está pescando?
Enjoyed it!
Love the vids bro
?
What kind of rods do you use when surf fishing
Elias, been watching your crab jig videos - I don’t use bait, but… I put a strip of crab fishbite on a similar jig and caught a nice red yesterday, total experiment and big surprise, shock really ! I’d be very interested if you tried this and found success.
Why is flounder season so short there?
Marine fisheries says they’re over fished. We went from an open season to 6 weeks to 2 weeks in just three years. I had never seen so many flounder in the years leading up to the season lockdown. 🤨
What size hook you using on the bottom sweeper?
Do you bleed those sheepshead when you keep them?
Hey man, I love that first rod, you should make a rod and reel Arsenal type of video.
Hey Elias. Great video as usual, honest solid fishing with no hype. What do you consider a good sized sheepshead to keep for the table?
14”-18” seem to be the best. I keep them up to 20” regularly. The bigger ones aren’t as good IMO.
@@EliasVFishing Thanks, now all I have to do is find some here in NJ. I have heard reports of them in my area but haven't found them yet.
Nice Job beatiful fish
Elias, is this Wrightsville beach?
Thats where I live what the hell?? Where you caught that first black drum is where I went to sailing camp a couple years ago.
Fish docks around Sneads Ferry if you are looking Karens!!
Ole pigfish!!! Good red bait!! Put him on live whole on bottom or freeline 'em!!
What rod are you using?
Jigging World Night Ranger. Link in videos description.
Great .
Is this carolina beach?
Those mystery fish were citation + size Sheepshead!
Hi bro....where do you fishing?
Are sheep’s head similar to black fish(tog). I see the fishing methods are similar
I’m sorry I mean taste wise. I’m from Rhode Island, never tried one
My guess maybe small Goliath groupers... just a guess.
Those were record sheeps that broke you off.
I would love to kayak fish with you!
Anyone know what part of Florida this is?
I feel the same way when their is a lot of boat traffic. I just can’t focus all the way
I have watched enough of your videos to know better then question your knot tieing skills, but consider the lost mystery fish as possible 30" + sheeps
Is this model similar to your rod?
JIGGING WORLD JW-NR731S-MH NIGHT RANGER SPINNING ROD
Nice brother..
Cool
Idk how everyone handles the craps without getting pinched. How do u put ur hand in a bucket of crabs without getting pinched
If they are fiddler crabs they don't hurt you like other crabs do
Bro Bro Bro Why You Leave Them? Why didn't get the fish?
Would like to see some more diversity! Hahaha don’t get me wrong love OBX/Carolina fishing but only so many species!!
cool
I'd really like to have a kayak like yours so I can go fishing in spots I can't reach in land unfortunately I'm just a 15 years old kid who doesn't have any money 😅😅🙂🥺
Lol have you ever had someone ask you to stop fishing “their” dock?
Commitment held.
"Normal size" (in the US) lel 🙃 7:44
Bring out the Karens! lmao
Hi bro niece
We love crackhead fish !
