So I'm writing this at track 6 and it just hit me that listening to Lu at 26 (Food and Liquor) and now at 44 is really eye opening. I'm definitely going to go back and listen to his discography w "dad" ears.
Lupe was one of the first artists I was truly a fan of hearing The Show Goes On and Superstar on the radio. So dope that he's still able to make music at such a high level man I'm blown away. That 3rd verse on Mumble Rap the best of the year I think 🤷♂

there’s a phone call in the Amy documentary of her talking to her producer salaam about recording some battle raps. and she wanted to start a supergroup with her, Yasiin Bey (mos) & Raphael Sadiq?? that’s like so badass to me Amy really was a hip hop head and she would’ve adored this album. this might be my album of the year just because of the significance of the concept. really bittersweet and cool stuff
