- The FEI has come out with two new rules this year that manipulate the show environment!! Let us know your thoughts on why you think the FEI is trying to control so much!!

Weirdly the FEI claims the restrictions only apply to publishing, not videoing, but their guidelines say in a couple of places “no right to film…”. They also claim this only applies to “named” events like the World Cup, but I have seen reports that spectators and athlete support have been hassled at ordinary CDI’s etc. It’s the usual clear as mud approach 🤷♀️
Yes I agree it does say no right to film and I have also been told the same thing that people have been asked to put their cameras away. For years they ha e loved the clear as mudd approach, so they csn twist the rules to fit whatever it is they like. In the past I have called asking if something is against the rules and they answer is never clear. The claim is the rules applies to any event with the name FEI in it.

So they can sell their own footage. They don't want people posting real time when they are live with the World Cup, etc. Also, FEI has had a lot of backlash because of professionals coming up with bloody tongues in the dressage ring.... lots of footage you can find on UA-cam. So I think this is just speculation. I think they're covering their behinds as well as trying to profit from this.
