We Finally manage to grab the last of the Spring Barley and the Spring Beans, and the wet weather continues seeing us cutting conifers back at Melton.

Even though unloading on headland consumes cutting time well worth it if it preserves soil structure. Hedges will look good in years time after flailing. Nice you’ve got harvest home at last. Cracking effort by the team

Any idea of the spend on the rape so far? Appreciate you may nor want to say but appropriate as you were cutting barley after failed rape.

Don’t know the exact cost but it’s only had one flee beetle spray, a graminicide and a bit of feeder so far, so not a lot.

My OCD would have me reverse up the track with them whacker plates and ban you from using it till it dried out 😉

Thanks, yes it’s the latest I’ve ever finished harvest, but others on the farm remember cutting beans in October.

Thanks. Wheats did really well on our land this year, the barleys were average, the rape not to good and the beans brilliant as I said in the video
