I was hearing your idea for end game crisis and i think you could make one for players who like to play defensive, like a tower defense one scaven tide and you have to hold down a fort that it keeps getting attacked and every time you keep back the scaven get increasinly more powerfull rewards. Making the invasion on a local point would be more fun than having to chase around armies and spend your gold on underground cities..Something along those lines, they could make like 10 different ones with different themes engaging for different kind of players.
For a Bretonnian rework I agree that some kind of crusading mechanic would be good, I think something thematic for them might be something that rewarded noble acts, something like the Dwarves grudge settling but where enemies generate say "Villainy" by taking acts against anyone besides you, with more villainy generated the greater the power differential between them, encouraging you to rescue the little guys, break sieges and slay perfidious creatures.
Great timing! Just started a Franz campaign myself and by turn 15 Nordland had fallen, Middenland was overrun, Hochland was Festus, Stirland was Vladified, Ostermark had become a dense Forest (Durthu), Talabecland was a ruin (Deceivers) and Marienburg was a Ghosttown (Kemmler). To add insult to injury, the last remaining Electors (Feuerbach of Averland, von Draken of Wissenland and von Rauken of Ostland) have a stellar fealty of zip, zilch, zero, nada and this, when I started to recruit a second army ASAP (Turn 2 basically) and started marching north to try and support my kin against the chaos nordlings and nurgling infestation as soon as I had my own province under control, which was turn 5 or 6-ish IIRC. Too lazy to reload and now I'll reload my Turn2 save, which I scummed until I rolled a Bright Wizard named Jurgen Schuhmacher, whom I renamed Michael, of course.
Sounds like a normal start to me, if you aren’t already in a made dash to save the empire and thereby the world by turn 3 is it really and empire campaign?
cant speak for other people but i watch you because of your skill at the game first and your personality second. you being entertaining is a big plus but I've learned so much from watching you play over the years that it cant be counted as the primary reason i keep coming back. third is the fact you don't use mods to change the game. i like being able to see the game as it was intended to be played.
Kinda wild people saying Legend's being spicy when he's just being honest about how frustrating some of the things this company does is. Love the takes and I feel like he's been super up front, as much as he can, about why he's so passionate about it. Also, Karl Franz being one of the most challenging and fun empire campaigns is very on theme.
I think also you could have a competing modernization mechanic Bertionna begins to adopt imperial weaponry as they do in lore and begin moving to a proper soldiery rather than levy’s as that is a thing they go through right before the end times lore throws it out a window.
Around 1:10:00 when he knew that he would be able to push one of Kemmlers supporting armies off with his second army - what is the reason for that and why didn't it just stay and fight? I cant figure out why it didn't just turn into a 3v2 scenario with Kemmlers army his garrison + reinforcements vs Karl & co.
When you siege a settlement, the armies inside can no longer join battles outside. The AI uses this trick as well, which is why Legend also moves his larger armies outside of settlements and smaller armies inside if there is a chance of getting attacked by two armies.
You know, I kinda wish trade resources showed their value(total or per unit) when traded and the trade tariff modifier and their adjusted quantity from trade resource boosters in the building similar to what's already in economic buildings. Unrelated to stream, but just had the idea while watching. I know you can just do the math from the trade break down but that's a bit inconvenient.
I think it would be interesting if you would have some sort of a resource storage where you can save up on them and spend them to finish upgrades/buildings faster
if their Brettonia rework comes in as something really good, I am going to buy my first full price DLC ever. I have my doubts tho, because I don't want to see cavalry charges with beautiful animations and minimal impact on hp.
Please for the sake of sanity and all that is holy: Can you please stop to pan around randomly while you're talking stories? It is nausea inducing and obnoxious. If you look at 2:32:46 you probably will see for yourself. Thank you.
have to be honest legend, While im happy to admit CA can be full of shit(particularly marketing) - the principle of a variable existing for AI that is not exposed to the player is EXTREMELY probable. This variable and 'balance of power' will almost certainly have common correlation - ie be similar in scaling, but that in no way means that the variables are connected directly - that's just not how you code, balance of power is calculated second by second on the battle map, the 'expected balance of power' on campaign map you already know can easily be different, as can the expected auto resolve results. My honest guess as a coder: all these variables are different, with different calculations based on a whole gamut of factors - with (hidden)'army power' being calculated once per army update, 'expected balance of power on campaign' being calculated based on 'army power' + 'terrain' + 'circumstances' and in battle balance of power being calculated each second(or every x tics) based on a much more detailed analysis including ammo used and magic used and current morale etc. I appreciate your not a coder - but in this case you really came off as rude and ignorant, especially when CA almost certainly were being as open and honest with the customer base as they can be by explaining the inner workings somewhat. mind you..them not acknowledging you has got to piss you off, some one high up is scared you might just put opinion and ethics before what they deem good business, either that or the edgy jokes are still plaguing you years later. Either way they are being very rude, I just hate to see you drop to their level - Id like to think your better than that.

Listen to the next minute for the summary of Legend’s position on CA. Perfection.

When in doubt, Karl.
Honestly Karls+legend=$

I think the "crusade" mechanic should work like the Waaagh for the orcs. The level of units will depend on honor points

Most successful karl franz campaign
What a lucky campaign.

I agree.
Ya I learned diplomacy from his DEI Rome 2 runs and then enjoyed his tactics all along.
I did not expect to learn so much Legend lore from this random stream
Every stream has hidden gems lol

I love watching empire runs 😮

Your end game crisis rework idea would be so great 50:00

The French and Lizards are in real need of an overhaul and expansion!

it's really unlikely that's it's gonna be a dlc, must likely an update without new LL
cool campaign but the side conversation about the ca partner program dragging on for so long was a bit annoying
6:40:00 I did indeed watch you back in 2014 and that was indeed nothing but the truth of which you said.
Will this campaign be a total world conquest?
