You guys do know that this is just Big Boss with a Solid Snake skin, right? No need to get your panties in a wad because they didn't use a completely different voice for a costume change. They didn't even use different voices for regular combat soldiers on side ops in Peace Walker, it was just David Hayter doing all the voices/sounds so why would they bother to hire Hayter and have him do Solid Snake for a costume change?

Xbox does not have Metal Gear Solid 1. It has Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid V. Playstation has all these with 1 and Guns of the Patriots.

Feelings on voice actors aside, 2:45 is probably the most chilling version of the foxdie death I think out of all the versions. All the others were overdramatic or system limitations couldn't get the right effect on the screaming of die, but this one...this one felt as chilling as it could get. I wish it were the one used in MGS1 when Anderson died the first time.

They kept the environments the same as MGSV:TPP because in modern times people don’t like looking entirely at old polygonygal graphics if they started with something like the PS3, Xbox 360 or forward. I know I don’t. That’s why they did it. And it doesn’t really look bad.
It's weird seeing classic MGS1 Solid Snake, who is pure Hayter in my mind since I was 10 years old in 1998, being voiced by essentially Jack Bauer. I don't have as much trouble getting over him playing Big Boss since he's been voiced by a few different people already.

Just for the fun of it and curious to see what the results are when Phantom Pain releases, I choppered out ALL the gaurds and POWs in this mission. It was a chore for sure, but im curious to see if all or certain soldiers or POWs you extract show up on your staff at mother base in Phantom Pain or its just a certain pre-set collection based on completion.

Honestly, I like and respect both, and I had both consoles, a PS4 and an Xbox One at one point, but I sold my PS4 because I needed money, plus I was primarily playing on Xbox. It’s down to opinion, really.
And I was completely fine with Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy staying as a PS4 exclusive, but now they’re putting it on PC, Xbox and Switch.

If Konami remade Metal Gear Solid 1, they are possibly going to screw that one up as well, by either changing the gameplay to be more like Metal Gear Solid 5, changing elements of the story to appease a certain group, and possibly even getting rid of scenes of Meryl without pants to appease the SJWs.

This is not DLC, its a mission that has to be unlocked. Also if you complete this on HARD mode you unlock the MGS1 Grey Fox costume, which has the same fast running ability as Raiden does

I had so much fun during this mission. Sniffs damn you Mgs1 nostalgia. Those questions at the end i enjoyed the most though. Perfect score without: Look anything up online and i know it. lmaoooo that was hillarious. Kaz had a Colonel Campbell (GW) breakdown. Hideo you the man.
Sutherland doing the voices..especially to a fan like me..it is different. Since peacewalker still used David hayter even for Big Boss as in Snake Eater. Still since i more related to him as Solid Snake i can get over it. It was Solid Snake that made the games epic to me...not Big Boss regardless of voice.

I really dislike these retro graphics, why don't they update the textures, I want to see Solid Snake on the FOX ENGINE. And why is his voice not at least done by Hayter? Go all the way or don't do it at all. They used Sutherland's voice for Raiden too. They are so fucking lazy. All that money they have and they're stingy still.
Metal Gear Solid overall just doesn't feel like Metal Gear Solid anymore they replaced the original voice of Snake David Hayter who always gave a fantastic performance by the way to that blonde haired guy from "The Lost Boys". I mean why? David Hayter was Snake why the fucked did they replace him.
David Hayter himself can't replicate his old voice. He just grew out of his voice and couldn't keep doing it.

Kojima went back on his decision to have separate voice actors for the clones of Big Boss (IE MGS and MGS2) in MGS3 when it was retconned for Solid Snake and Big Boss to have near identical voices, which is also scientifically accurate.
Mind you, I'm playing Devil's Advocate. Kiefer did a good job, albeit using his normal speaking voice the 3 or 4 times he actually spoke in game. The issue that I have with Kojima over this is that he established a voice for Big Boss over the course of 3 games, then decided to switch voice actors. It's can jarring and immersion breaking, on top of being a completely unnecessary change.
Hayter is and always be solid snake. But Sutherland really brings something to Big Boss who is far more in depth emotional character.
Hayter could never deliver the growing dark side in big boss even with motion capture.

Augusto Lu You press left or right on the mission select screen. Found out on Jamais Vu. In the first one he's got a black body and then when I pressed left/right he had white. Should be the same for Deja Vu. You have to recreate all the scenes and nail the quiz afterwards.

Ok so this seems pretty gay I don't see the need to go back to part 1 didn't we get our fix of that back in 2008 with "Guns of the Patriots", and am I hearing right Playstation customers get this and Xbox gets Raiden that's bullshit I hate that Metal Gear Solid even got put on Xbox in the first place fuck Xbox Metal Gear Solid is a fucking Playstation Game damnit. They started putting Metal Gear Solid on the original Xbox with that remake of "Sons of Liberty" Substance bullshit, but Snake Eater wasn't on Xbox and Guns of the Patriots wasn't on Xbox 360 so why did they put Rising on Xbox 360 and part 5 on Xbox One it just doesn't feel like Metal Gear Solid on Microsoft I'm sorry it doesn't.

I think its ironic that this game was made mostly for the fans, and yet besides replacing David Hayter, they also darkened the story by A LOT, to a point where it's almost like Peace Walker was from a brighter alternative timeline.

I enjoy dark stories, but when a game takes itself too serious, it can quickly become depressing. MGS games used to be quite serious but not too serious, we still had the easter eggs and Cardboard boxes, and now the only way it doesn't take itself serious is by doing something as stupid as this "Deja vu" ops.

I like the exclusive mission choices made here. The PS has a Solid Snake dedicated mission because MGS started with PSX. Raiden is on the Xbox version because that's when Metal Gear (with MG Rising, really. I don't really think the HD collection counts) started out as a multi-platform franchise.

thefreddiefaction Nope. MGS 2: Substance came out on Xbox and PC way back in 2002. Even the first MGS game came out on PC. Many people mistake MGS for a Sony exclusive series. Kojima and his team works for Konami, not Sony. It's just that Kojima preferred PS as his lead platform.

Mission for the long-time fans of Metal Gear Solid. Thing is, doesn't anybody else think it rather morbid that Phantom Snake is in Solid Snake's skin? I mean, Phantom gets killed by the dude in the very operation/mission hinted at when Phantom flips the tape with the "From the Man Who Sold The World" on it.

is this a glitch? when i got all xof patches on my second playthrough and unlocked this mission it only had all the characters in the ground zeroes mission snake was still the same, guards were the same, the arms tech pres and DARPA chief were prisoners with the bags over their heads, and there was no snow do i need to S rank it on it to unlock the skins
You must complete the Mission secondary challenge to obtain then you need to change it in the Mission select screen
why in the xbox 360 version the soldiers from this mission and solid snake look like that
