The best part is what you said. He didn't do this against a bad team, he did it against the Defending Super Bowl Champions and a top 5 defense. Kudos to him I am one of many that didn't think he had it but this is a glimmer of hope here. Not 100% sold yet but if they let him play like this every game I will be so happy. There is no going back Saleh and Hackett, you showed us a very diverse playbook so don't go back to conservative play.
Zach Wilson was a gunslinger in college and for the past year or so they’ve been forcing him to play scared/safe which just isn’t him. Qb’s can’t second guess themselves in the pocket or they make bad decisions
@@memebobs9011 Yeah I looked him up when there was draft buzz and he was slinging it down the field I agree. They have been playing him scared and it hurt the team all these years. I feel good about him now, he showed us he can ball out and hopefully he carries that into all his games because if he plays like that this team is deadly.
There's no question that the addition of Hackett and Rodgers being here is going to help this kid progress. I've seen more out of him over the last couple games as far as confidence and progression than since he got here... We'll have to see over the next couple games if this continues but if so there may be hope for this kid yet.
I disagree completely. The chiefs were called for two very questionable holds the same possession. The second one was almost phantom. @@calwatch1496 I think this team developed faster than Joe Douglas and Saleh thought they would. To go from the worst defense to top 5 is very rare. But Zach was holding back the team. You see other 2nd year to rookie QBs at least throwing like 15 TDs. Zach couldn’t run an offense. But I think Mike LaFleur is largely at fault here tbh
This game made me a fan of Zach Wilson. You could see every time the camera was on him just how much it meant to him to make those throws and have his guys involved. And at the end of the game when Lazard was trying to make him feel better. He can be the guy.
I really hope Zach gains some serious momentum off of this game. He really has a lot of arm talent, speed, ability to escape the pocket, and make plays down field. The offensive Line is only going to get better IMO. This will be there 3rd week in a row playing together so I hope to see the trend continue upward. Zach has gotten plenty of reps with the 1's at practice. this is a game where Hackett has to go back and really start designing a game plan off of the upcoming defenses weaknesses mixed with a combination of Zachs strengths. However KC is not a world class defense. They ranked in the bottom half of Defenses in 2022.
KCs defense with Chris Jones held the Jaguars to 9 points, and the Bears to 10 points. If the refs weren't playing for KC Zach would've probably have had more points..
Great Analysis Chase. Now that Aaron Rodgers is in the owner's box and can give his comments on the play calling directly to Woody Johnson, that gives Hackett the opportunity to call the plays that he, Aaron, and Zach think are the best. Saleh's game plan to run up the middle on every first and 10 will hopefully be retired forever. Zach has been hindered by ultra-conservative play callers since he got to the Jets.
Well if you've seen how many INTs he threw, you'd understand. It looks like his decision making has improved enough to open the playbook up at this point, and he let it rip....just wish it happened sooner...and I hope Zach will be this good going forward.
@@jerseymetalmike5111 It was always the conservative playcalling. Saleh's "Please Zach. When Aaron flew in from Malibu, you knew he would be heavily involved in the offensive game plan, he's an Alpha, he's saw enough of No Guts All Brakes Saleh. I think consistency is the biggest concern for Zach up to this point. We knew he is capable of competing at a higher level. It's good to see he performed well given he was practically playing for his job on national television against the defending champs. Hopefully he can build confidence from this one to be more consistent throughout the year.
His main problem has been coaching. Every QB has bad days, but in the past, the coaches have been too quick to reign him in if he has a bad game, which in turn was killing his confidence..
Looking forward to your fuller breakdown, thought he looked great. Would love to see a breakdown of the other TD throw to Lazard. I think that was one of the best thrown touchdown on the 23-24 season so far!

I knew if they would just give him a chance, let him play his game, give him some time in the pocket and the receivers actually make an effort to catch….his arm and scrambling ability would make him successful. The fans and media were pretty tough on the kid from day one.
I feel they need to use the 13 personnel much less. I know they want to protect Zach and then set up the run game, but he needs real options on pass plays. I think they need more 5 players going out for a pass and less 3 or 4. Zach needs to sink or swim a bit and while you want to protect him, he needs receivers to throw to. Outside of Hall and G. Wilson...offense is S-L-O-W. TE's, WR's, are slow. Cook looks like he's running in sand. Mechanics look so much better, particularly with his shoulders. Made a lot of excellent throws. Wish they had some more speed opposite G. Wilson to go with Zach's arm. I can see sail routes with a faster WR opposite G. Wilson giving opposing defenses fits. Anyway, great analysis. Thanks for the content.
Great analysis, thanks! Maybe work on limiting the "kay" - little distracting. That said, I wonder if any of this was resulting from Hackett's experience playing the AFC West last year. Only 2 games vs. Chiefs but if he can figure out their defense this well and get 2-3 wins vs rest of division then string some more wins elsewhere, this team can be playing meaningful games in December...all a Jets fan hopes for these days, not even thinking playoffs lol
Now compare to the other 3 defenses Zach Wilson played so far this season and realize why he has looked bad: Buffalo, Dallas, New England. No one wanted to hear it, but now look how he played against a slightly above average defense. The toughest teams on the schedule are behind him. Only up from here. Plus the line is gelling and the offense has had time to adjust to Rodgers out, Wilson in. Totally different play styles. This team is not dead, they are just getting started.

This is so sad, Zach’s best game was on par with Mahomes worst game. Still missed several key throws and that “50/50” ball should’ve been picked had he not slipped. Great film breakdown though but Zach still is a bad QB.
He couldn't beat the league making sure swifties got the win so who cares? Even if he turns it around and becomes the greatest QB of all time they're going to lose to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. Literally does not matter.
6:37 is all you need to see that should have been a TD , in 1600 drop backs ZW has never made that throw for a TD. He left 24 points on the table yesterday. His top end is game manager. I love his work ethic and heart but you cant win when you only make the same type of throws repeatedly. Same thing with the GW overthrown TD, the Lazard flea flicker, the Cobb crossing pattern. Its mental , either he cant process distance and timing. Its all over his film. I said predraft he was a bust and a game manager at best. He would cost the Jets multiple games per year because he has never hit certain throws. He had GW vs the Patriots, And multiple vs the Chiefs. He missed that Lazard throw 10-15 times as a pro, Underthrown everytime.
I agree in the past couple years he couldn’t hit simple throws but this year his accuracy has been night and day to what it was. His pocket presence has improved as well. The only thing he was still struggling with is being decisive. All that came together Sunday night. Now was it perfect? No it wasn’t but what he didn’t do was play like a game manager. You can nitpick thar performance or you can take it for what it was. He showed he has it now can he consistently do that is the real question. This Denver game will tell us a lot.
@sserrano49 You don't need a QB to hit simple throws, You need a QB that will hit a wide open Reciever for a 65 yard touchdown when he is 5 yards behind the secondary.
@@TonydaGM I get what your saying but the last few years he wasn’t even trying to throw those balls. That sideline pass to GW was the first time I’ve seen him try that so my feeling is if he keeps attempting those he’s going to start hitting them.

This horse and carriage everyone sees will soon turn into a pumpkin again.
Let Me Seee This .😭 craig, My good sir. . .your point it Totally laughable
This is so sad, Zach’s best game was on par with Mahomes worst game. Still missed several key throws and that “50/50” ball should’ve been picked had he not slipped. Great film breakdown though but Zach still is a bad QB.
If you only knew football...Corners dont pick 50/50 balls that was a dime...
I need you to re-watch this video and listen for the amount of times you said "okay". Infuriating, but a great breakdown otherwise.
@@sserrano49 He tried it 15 times and missed all of them. He can't hit vertical passes where he needs to show timing and touch. That's also why Mims and Hardman never see the field.
What is a game manager? There is no such thing stop letting deceivers tell you nonsense
No he is tgat bad.
Kay? Kay? Kay? Kay? Kay, kay? Kay? Kay. Kay! Kay?!
…. Bruh clean it up you aren’t a teenage girl
You showed most of his bad plays
This is the worst defense Zach has faced this season. What a schedule to face off the bench!
just imagine if a girl did that to you. when you get a 6 figure job, then they are texting you back .... but when you broke. nothing. thats how it is being a fair weather fan.
Rodney Harrison is a joke
Umm, didn't Wilson fumble the ball away in the 4th? When your highlights include incompletions, you are really grasping at straws. Jets will win at max 5 games this season.
Bro.. u just put out a video just a few days ago saying he was trash.. 🤡.. who is Chase Daniel anyway?
A real football fan would’ve known he was a good quarterback at the University Missouri. Come on learn your football man… That’s what Joe Biden would say
Google Chase Daniel and you will find out.
you don’t have to say “kay” every 5 seconds
Everyone knows the chiefs are defending the entire world
zach wilson got promoted from trash to cheeks, if he keeps it up he'll be promoted to "shows flashes". After that below average. keep it up zach
