I crochet for foster kids and give them around 5 large boxes at Christmas time. My town has a charity called "borrowed hearts."
So easy to follow along with your instructions. Thank you!
Love this it is adorable! I will be making one for my 2.5yr old neice for sure. Thank you for this tutorial!! 🐰🐰
Thanks for sharing the idea of making this cute octopus 🐙 👌
I have made this pattern and love it, I did embroidery for the eyes and mouth, plan on making more and after I have a couple dozen then decide where their home will be, have a couple different places. Thank you 💖💖😊

OMG !! SO CUTE
Excellent teacher x
This is the easiest best example I’ve seen. I can actually do this!
Happy Hooking. Sounds like you have a new mission.
Thank you very much....your tutorial is very clear instructions....😘
Super. Glad it could help.
Thank you, you made it so easy to make this beautiful octopus 🐙 ❤
Hi very good instruction. Thank you
You are welcome!
So I tried this pattern a few weeks ago, and it did not go well. I ended up making it a jellyfish because I could not get the body to shape like yours. It looked more like a dinner plate when stuffed. 🤷♀️ The upside is my daughter loves the jellyfish! I bought a different type of yarn, so I'm trying again to see if I can make it work right this time!
I love the pattern but I think it would be helpful to have a stitch could fit c the back loop ridge so b b that when you come to attach the tentacles the spacing is correct. I think it should be 36 stitches at this point, is this correct? I didn’t have this when u started the tentacles and of course they were not properly spaced. I had to c start again!
Thank you for the pattern. If anyone makes this please read the pattern before adding tenicals. I had to start over after the 7th one because the count that he said was off. I followed the pattern and it worked out. I mean no disrespect. Just wanted people to not have to pull it out and start over.
Sry for the question but it is my first crochet project. I am currently in row 8 and my work is not looking like a concave like yours, it's a bit wavy but not taking the round shape as it should be. What am I doing wrong pls?
Once you stuff it, it should work itself out.
I'm making this for my daughter for her birthday. 🥰 Thank you for going into this pattern in more detail than Yarnspirations do in their video. I'm a bit confused, and I even asked a question on their website where the pattern is listed, about round 27. I'm a beginner in crochet so that might be why. 😅 They say there is a mistake in how the pattern is written, and for round 27 you single crochet in the next 2 spaces, then sc2tog. What confuses me is they then say to single crochet in the next 9 spaces? Then they say to repeat this three times. I doubt there's even enough spaces for that. Now I do have dyscalculia (like dyslexia but only I struggle with numbers) so this might be why I'm getting confused. Yours seems fine as you've done it so I may well just copy what you've done! Thanks. My daughter by the way is a little King Charles Spaniel. She’s obsessed with her two octopus toys and so I wanted to try and make her one now I've finally taught myself to crochet.
I'm sorry. I don't understand. Who is 'They'. The video should work for you. I'm super glad you can make something personal for your needs. I haven't figured out how to answer people back dyscalculia when numbers are involved.
@@TheCrochetCrowd By 'they' I mean the people at Yarnspirations who made the pattern. They answered my question, but I was still confused. I'm hoping I can just follow on and do as you did in your video. 🙂 Don't get me wrong, dyscalculia can make crocheting a bit more difficult, but not impossible! I'm glad you have your tutorials as accessible as possible.
I completely get what your saying. This is only my second amigurumi and row 27 on the pattern is shows to start with two single crochets but you said to do 3 singe crochets. I was confused. Might want to fix that for others. Also on round 30 and 31 in the written pattern it says to start the first stitch off with a chain 1. Do I follow the pattern or the person on UA-cam. You’d think these would match up together
Hi firstly want to say what polite clear teaching. I am a novice at crochet. In January I am getting a kitten. I would like to make a smaller version of this. How would I reduce its size please. I plan to put catnip in with the stuffing so that hopefully this becomes the kittens comfy toy on its first night away from her mummy and siblings.
Since this pattern calls for a 4 weight yarn and a 4 mm hook, you could just get a lighter weight yarn...like a 3 weight and then use a smaller size hook (maybe a 3mm). Follow the pattern just as it's written and it should come out smaller.
Young kittens do not respond to catnip as well as an older cat does.
Make your hook much smaller but it gets harder when the hook gets too small. You may want to consider a different patterns well where the math is already figured out.
Kittens should not have catnip until they are a year old. I've heard it can mess with their little brain.
That is such a sweet idea. 🥰 I hope your kitten likes her toy. I have heard (as other comments have said) that kittens are not to have catnip until they're a year old, but there’s no reason why you can’t make her toys with catnip in when she’s older. I'm making one of these for my dog. 😂 I'm glad I'm not the only pet owner doing this. (I don’t see my dog as a pet though, she’s my baby)
Awesome!! Can you share a pattern for a bigger version of this??
I'm sorry, the pattern wasn't written in a larger size. I don't have information to share with you. It's not been designed.
@@TheCrochetCrowd no problem. Thanks for sharing 👍
@Living Life Simply thank you
Where is the written pattern for this particular Octopus
Our patterns we use are linked in the video descriptions. If you open the video description you will see a link for it.
Mine keeps coming out flat it won’t curl :(
Put more stitches in each chain to force it.
I am losing my
Mind over this back loop only for the tentacles!!!! I can’t get my hook into it, if I can even find it, because the 5 DC in the stitch before make it so tight. Any recommendations? I’m feeling extremely discouraged, it’s taken me longer to get half of one tentacle done, than it did to go 10 rows of the head…..
So cute!
