@snufkin 🌲 there have been quite a number of trans women-cis men weddings in India for years. It seems to be accepted. Trans men is relatively a new topic than transwomen in South Asia
@@snufkin9678 from my experience (I live in a country that is very conservative) I doubt that they will fully accept trans and enby ppl. While there are a few openly trans ppl here, many outsiders will always refer to their sex assigned at birth bc they mostly consider transitioning as a mental illness or simply something shameful to the person's family. I have never seen a desi wedding with trans/nb partners but I really hope they become more visible. As a transmasc enby myself, I wish I can have a traditional wedding in the future where I am accepted as the groom (the bride and groom have different wedding rituals to be followed for the few days that the wedding lasts). But personally I fear for my safety. I doubt that my family will accept my coming out, and when your wedding guests don't even understand or accept you, there's hardly a way to create a warm and joyful atmosphere worth celebrating. Priests who officiate the weddings are even more conservative and finding one who isn't transphobic might take a long time. They'd most likely worry about their own reputation in their professional circles if they married trans ppl together(since lgbt+ ppl are largely misunderstood in my country, religious ppl would say their existence itself is immoral, and hence, so is marrying them). While some priests are slightly more open-minded nowadays, it's still near impossible to find lgbt-friendly, specifically trans-friendly, ones. It's also useful to note that the priest's opinion usually tends to override what others think about the bride and groom's union(even the parents of both parties), hence their importance. A priest who backs trans individuals getting married would definitely force other ppl(mainly the families and wedding guests) to tolerate trans and enbies' existence to some extent

I’m so excited to finally watch all of this! When I say I burst into tears when I saw him in his suit…I’m a trans guy and I’m extremely excited to get married to my trans girlfriend one day.
I know brides are always beautiful on their wedding day, but man...Shaaba, that dress is a STUNNER and your hair and makeup were absolute perfection. Just wow. Everything was wonderful, but the love and joy bubbling over in the clip right after the ceremony was so delightful. I'm so happy you shared this with us, I am full of love and happiness. ❤
This is the most damn gorgeous inclusive wedding I ever saw. It makes my heart so full to know there are people and families out there in the world like you. Have an absolutely wonderful life together 👰🏾♀️🤵🏻♂️♥️
I'm only halfway thru the video, and it's been so lovely thus far but I especially loved 21:36 where Shaaba asks if Jamie's okay and if anybody's spoken to him before continuing on with his letter to her. The genuine concern, care, and love in that little moment really encapsulated the special relationship you two share. So excited to finish the vid and congrats to you two!!!
I have never squealed this much over people on the internets wedding. I guess it’s maybe just because you two have been such a positive force and seeing you two finally getting married just melts my heart. It helps to know that maybe one day I could also marry someone and hopefully make them just as happy as you to make each other happy.
