Thank you very much for sharing this video. I am a professional basketball and fitness equipment installer and many times my customers ask me to do their basketball court for them and I turn it down, now that I see your technique I want to try it, I have a basketball court job coming up. God bless
Yes...the 4 feet to the backboard was an estimate...it ended up being a bit different than that...so for my court it was still 15' from the center of the rim. The key is to have an accurate diagram with the measurements you want and plan it out before you start marking up your pavement.
Great job! I would make some type of catcher for when the ball rolls down the driveway. Just so a car doesn't swerve or your kids don't go running for it.
Great job. I'm looking to do a nba regulation size half court but can't find the stencil anywhere. I only find the college size. Might have to do this too. Great job
Painter’s tape is pretty easy to lay down on a curve. It can be stretched a little and you only really need to pay attention to the inside lines where you will be painting.
A JOB WELL DONE I WOULD PREFER IF YOU HAVE SHIFTER THE ENTIRE GIG FORWARD AND TO THE RIGHT AWAY FROM THOSE BUSHES ON THE LFFT I FELT U WERE CENTERING IT WITH THE GARAGE DOOR. BUT I LOVE IT BY EVERY MEANS SUPERB ❤💙💚💛
The 3pt line is trickier because it’s not a semicircle..and there are variations in 3 pt lines..I’d use a plumb line from the corners…out to where the curvature begins…and then try to flex tape the borders..painters tape or floor tape can be forgiving on bending it a bit. There are stencil kits out there on the market..but they cost more money than I’d want to..and the DIY job is pretty rewarding
Mine was over an asphalt driveway and I had recently tarred it too. I did not use any primer. As for concrete..you could prime it..especially if it was smooth. But the beauty of the basketball lines is that if what you paint with wears easily..you can retape no problem..and repaint
It’s a Costco purchase. (Lifetime is the brand) it’s been good..adjustable height. Can dunk on it..but I tell people not to hang. Sand fill or water fill the base. I use water because i move it inside for winter.
Hey man...it was just leftover white paint from an interior job. So it was just an interior latex or a kitchen/bath..and it’s held really well for the last year. One guy said he used white traffic paint but it didn’t work well. I know I did a couple of coats...3 total
@@MatherPE Ok I just thought about doing this for my daughter last night and have been watching multiple videos and one video said concrete paint i just want it to look great
I would have used white traffic paint… But since it was a test job I used leftover kitchen and bath paint. It is still really crisp almost a year later and through a winter
@@MatherPE I used traffic spray paint on ours and it didn’t last through the first winter. Waste of time for the amount of time it takes to tape and measure. So thanks for the tip of different paint
Good to know about the traffic paint problem. We’ve been out on it a lot this spring...and it’s still really clear using the kitchen and bath paint. Good luck if you repaint...let us know how it goes
Honestly it was left over paint..and probably even an interior latex…nothing special. I thought about using traffic paint but went for cost effectiveness..and after a couple of years of wear..it’s still pretty decent
My fav part of the whole vid "I love basketball ... and I love my kids"
Way to go Dad 👍🏿
My pride and joy
Your a great dad for sure that court will keep ur family active and happy.
It’s definitely gotten a lot of use
That was just amazing and I absolutely loved how you were so meticulous with your measurements.
I am trying your advice today on my terrace.
Good luck..let us know how it turns out!
Nice video brotha! You deserve dad of the year! much respect
Appreciate it…labour of love and all worth it

Good luck! Measuring with precision made it look crisp
How much does it cost for u to buold
I loved the 2 holes on the wood trick that’s was brilliant
Thanks..worked like a charm and kept it super consistent
the free-throw line is baed off the rim and not the baseline. There throw line is measured 15 feet from the middle of the rim
Yes...the 4 feet to the backboard was an estimate...it ended up being a bit different than that...so for my court it was still 15' from the center of the rim. The key is to have an accurate diagram with the measurements you want and plan it out before you start marking up your pavement.
Thank you so much this is gonna help me with my youtube channel. You earned my subscription
Great..good luck with your channel!
Great job! I would make some type of catcher for when the ball rolls down the driveway. Just so a car doesn't swerve or your kids don't go running for it.
all the bs online, and your video is by FAR the best tut. WELL DONE!
Thanks…definitely a DIY with minimal equipment. Still looks great too
Great job. I'm looking to do a nba regulation size half court but can't find the stencil anywhere. I only find the college size. Might have to do this too. Great job
I wasn’t willing to buy a stencil..as long as you know your dimensions and have a little creativity…you can do it!
Best dad ever
Wouldn’t go that far..but they do love the court
I wish you had shown the technique for taping the arc at the top of the key

Great video! Maybe would be easier using a 2x4 for the giant compass or nah?
That’s what I used..worked well
Just three words made the sweat all worth it.
Doesn’t it though?
Great work!
both your kids have great form for youngin's! loved the video.
Thanks.. if you build it..they will shoot
Wow thats great
Great video, genius tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice video my dude
A JOB WELL DONE

I LOVE IT BY EVERY MEANS
SUPERB

Thanks
Nice job dude I think I’m ready. The only problem is you have to fully commit lol
Worth it. Has had many years of wear now. Many games of around the world using the basketball key.
Good work!!! I am going to try this myself. Any suggestions on adding a 3 point line?
The 3pt line is trickier because it’s not a semicircle..and there are variations in 3 pt lines..I’d use a plumb line from the corners…out to where the curvature begins…and then try to flex tape the borders..painters tape or floor tape can be forgiving on bending it a bit. Nice job man! Great tips.
Hope it helps if you decide to try it
Thanks, Man! You definitely helped me! Except -- except, I didn't have the courage or gusto to tackle the three point line (yet). Good on you though.
I hear you. I’m glad I didn’t have to experiment with that. But I’m sure if you take your time and measure properly..should be all good
Do you recommend using a concrete primer?
Mine was over an asphalt driveway and I had recently tarred it too. I did not use any primer.
As for concrete..you could prime it..especially if it was smooth. But the beauty of the basketball lines is that if what you paint with wears easily..you can retape no problem..and repaint
Great job man 🙏🏾👍🏾
Thanks man..it turned out great
What did you use to cover the anchor hole once you were done?
Just a couple of dabs of tar filler..kind you use to patch asphalt driveways
What type of paint did you use and how long did it take to dry to the point of actually playing a game ? Thanks and great job !
I just a regular white paint. Indoor wall paint.. Nothing special. Did it in the summer..dried within an hour on the pavement
Great job I was confused I thought you said the first line was 19 ft but I thought the free throw line is 15 fr
I added the four feet because of the depth of the base of the net..but all the box measurements are in line with a 15ft distance
Thank you thank you thank you 😊
Welcome welcome welcome 😊
3:23 voice crack vom aller feinsten
May i know what size of roller that you used?
Mini paint roller…3inch?
You want it to be small enough to roll in the tape lines without going outside
AWESOME 😎
Thanks. A couple of years later and it’s still in good shape.. just some minor fading
Great vid thanks
Thanks for watching
Cool Dad! 💪
Thanks… Was well worth it
What basketball rim set up you have? Has it been durable?
It’s a Costco purchase. (Lifetime is the brand) it’s been good..adjustable height. Can dunk on it..but I tell people not to hang. Sand fill or water fill the base. I use water because i move it inside for winter.
How do i find all the lines like in feet
Quick google search for basketball court dimensions for whatever level court will do it
Worth a ssub
🙏 Thanks
Dope
Awsome!
Thanks
So with the white paint is it concrete white paint or exterior white paint thanks
Hey man...it was just leftover white paint from an interior job. So it was just an interior latex or a kitchen/bath..and it’s held really well for the last year.
One guy said he used white traffic paint but it didn’t work well.
I know I did a couple of coats...3 total
That being said..what I used worked for me. There are likely paint applications specifically for asphalt or concrete
@@MatherPE Ok I just thought about doing this for my daughter last night and have been watching multiple videos and one video said concrete paint i just want it to look great
Good luck..let me know how it turns out and what paint you use..so I can let others know who ask the same question. Happy ballin!
just brush it
Would work too..this coverage was pretty easy though
whats the hoop ur using
Lifetime brand…from Costco/Price Club/Sam’s equivalent
Many brands are similar though like spalding

Now i can become jimmy buckets (jimmy butler)
As long as you’ve got the swagger to go with it! 😁
Sad story here...the kid ran out after the ball and was hit by a school bus in the street
