The Constant is regarded as one of the best episodes in TV Series history, and probably the best in Lost. Of course, this is from the critics, but fans of the show enjoy multiple episodes as much as this one
NO SPOILERS... But I feel like you may have missed an important small detail in this episode. In the scene where Widmore bid on and won the journal from the Black Rock (the old wrecked ship on the island), You can hear the auctioneer saying that it was owned by Tovard Hanso. Tovard Hanso is related to Magnus Hanso (the owner/captain of the Black Rock), and Alvar Hanso. You have heard the name Alvar Hanso referred to in the Darma Orientation video as the CEO of the Hanso Foundation that funded The Darma Initiative. From this point on there are more and more through lines and connections to past episodes.

Was Zara okay during the filming of this one? She seems upset or tired or something. Also calling one of the greatest episodes of television ever a filler episode...I just don't have words. Relatively self contained...I can see that, but filler? Until this point, LOST dipped its toes into being called a sci-fi television show. After this, discussion was over, the show was going full genre on a broadcast network. Groundbreaking stuff for a show as big as this.
Yeah, I've always found Zara the best part of the Lost reactions, she's much more emotionally connected than the others have been to the characters. So I figured she'd really be into this particular episode because of the emotions but I felt bad for her that she didn't seem to be enjoying herself.
It's really nice to see Ari's excitement about the show, but she need to contain herself a little bit more and save comments/explanations for the discussion at the end. Anyway, one of the best episodes, for sure.
Having someone who has seen it be asking leading questions, trying to explain things in the middle of an episode, physically reacting to things that are about to happen….I really wish the first time watchers could just enjoy it without that input. I feel like the new reactor (that has already seen it) is taking over these reactions and it’s not as fun to watch.

Her reacting like that can ruin it for the others, and give information away. She should be on this side of the screen with the rest of us.
I've seen other reactions where someone who's seen the show watches along with new viewers. It can work, but that person really needs to hold back on their reaction. I understand getting excited about an episode or scene, but she should really allow the others to digest and what's going on and having their own reactions (which is what we're here for) before reacting herself. Also, she shouldn't be putting any expectations on them - for example, at the beginning when she realizes which episode this is, she says it's one of her favourites. This is something she should have kept to herself until the end of the episode.

@@dtny2la I would remember Hackers if it hadn't been so long ago. Saw it two or three times as a kid, loved it for as much as I could understand it back then. But my Internet movie of that era was The Net... cat & mouse, whodunit, early days of the Internet AND personal computers, spy craft but not shadowy government types. It was so exciting. Oh, and how could I ever forget...? Getting to watch annoying political hack Dennis Miller die was amazing. I hate the show Friends. More of a Living Single fan. And I found Frasier rather dull, unlike the amazing series Cheers.

Voted the best tv episode of the 21st century....not the best episode of LOST....the greatest episode of TV.... this episode is perfect.. the time leaps, the splicing, the pacing, and Desmonds entire existence resting on 1 phone call.... if Penny doesn't believe in Desmond, doesn't believe in them, love, or some silly phone number, Desmond would be doomed....trapped between timelines with no constant....but what if? What if we could get a redo, a chance to change things....if only Desmond can convince Penny that after all the times he has fallen short as a man that she can depend on him this time is.......and all she has to do is wait 8 years without him...8 years, 8 digits and an 8 turned 90° into an infinite symbol of pure desperation..... Desmond's best case is still a Hail Mary "if there is any part of you that still believes in us" ..........I won't call for 8 years" The Constant is a story of hope. A companion "letter of love," to Penny's "all we really need to survive is 1 person thar truly loves us......and you have her"...Desmond may have failed at many thing. Becoming a Dr., Royal Scots Regiman, theater set design, becoming a monk, relationship commitment and of course failing to push the button that causes the crash of Oceanic815 but THIS TIME he didn't fail. His ridiculous plea, begging Penny not to change her number, worked.... and in so doing, completes the equation LOST desperately needed....quantifiable love.
Ok, my watching marathon stopped here, i cant watch these reaction videos with Ari, i know she doesnt want to do it, and she means well, but she is ruining your reactions by just reacting to important details and spoiling little bit of what is coming. I call this the "Make or Break" episode. It divides most watchers. One side considers it one of the best episodes of the entire series, and others call it quits at this point or a few episodes after. They just can't wrap their heads around the time travel aspect. I always tell that group to stick with it. The best episodes are yet to come.

I was excited for Ari at first but she's really telegraphing a lot and its kind of ruining their reactions.
I find that Zara has been more subdued for this season. Perhaps because of Ari, or maybe just being more confused by this season.

Hold your horses. As much as i like this episode like everyone else, this is not the best TV episode of 21st century, maybe top 15.

She's only here for season 4. So you could always just skip those and pickup with season 5.
