About Z level roughing with artcam

What is the difference between machining relief and Z level roughing?
I tried the Z level roughing but my computer crashed when I use more complex geometry and it took a long time to do.

Z level roughing is "roughing" work. It doesn't finish your relief but semi-finish it. You need relief machining to finish your relief.
roughing work is necessary when the relief is thick and big. It save you more time on finishing.
