This is the validation I needed to never sell my '09, regular cab, 4wd, 5 speed, 2.7 liter Tacoma with crank windows, manual windows, no frills, reliable truck.
I've had my 97 short bed regular cab 4.6 lariat 4x4 since 2005. Its been an awesome truck. 250000 miles. I'll never buy another truck. If it ever needs a motor or trans I'll put one in or rebuild. These new trucks are outrageous price.
I’ve have a 2002 Sierra 2 wheel drive reg cab long bed that I’ve had for almost 20 years, no rust, manual windows, AC and auto and I will drive it till I die. Great content dude!
The 5.4 2 valve triton engine is great. Reliable, enough power, only beef is the spark plug threads and the stupid plastic connectors on the ignition coils. It’s really a great truck, I drive an 01 f150 super cab and it’s been wonderful
The plastic connectors on the entire engine harness on them by now is all brittle lol I’ve broken many coil connectors and injector connectors and more on old Mustang harnesses, but also have on high mileage Toyotas that are 10 years old so meh. As long as you don’t over or under tighten the spark plugs, not too much of an issue.
Yeah I commute with an F150 and I don't really care if people don't like that. New England in the winter with an hour long commute. Have fun in your little car stuck on the side of the road.
If you use your truck for work or need it for work it makes sense. But driving it just because, as a non-work related commuter is a bit silly. I’ve wanted a truck as a daily as I’m constantly needing one (not for my job though), but never did because outside of its occasional usefulness to me it didn’t make sense. Also most fwd/AWD cars will do better in bad weather than a truck will. Unless they have summer tires and can’t drive.
@@Bearbait01 well I am looking to get a truck now because I’m tired of borrowing one or even just having a car with not enough room to move stuff, haul stuff, or even buying larger items (especially if I get back into the flipping game). Originally just wanted a ranger but now idk lol
My gf's little Kia is a tank in the snow. I've been caught in 3 foot nor'easters a handful of times and never once had any worries about making it home in one piece. It does help to have snow tires though.
We need more trucks like these for sale now. Simple, low lifting height durable. I have a ‘97 Chevy WT for when I need to haul anything. I don’t want a huge 4WD truck where the bed height is chest level.
I have a 2008 Ford F-150 crew cab with that little short bed on it. I have to have a trailer to haul stuff. I tell everyone I don't have a truck, I have an SUV with an open air trunk. The last real truck I had was a 1993 F150 regular cab with a whole full size bed. I could not imagine buying those embarrassing "trucks" they sell now for $80,000. I'm just going to keep my trailer and my 17 year old SUV.
@@ryanmcgowan9199 el caminos being two doors were never viable family vehicle options. Also being from the heart of truck country in Texas, the only "soccer" mom I've seen in a dually was a friend of mine who raises and trains cutting horses and pulls horse haulers all over the country to shows. So in her case, it was a necessity. But they basically have a big rig now for that so she drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee now.
I once read a joke that the auto engineers for the LeSabre designed it with the old senile barely-able-to-drive demographic in mind. When they inevitably floored the wrong pedal, it had to be sturdy enough to plow through an entire farmer's market, keep the driver safe and unaware of the carnage, and remain in one piece so that it wouldn't be too expensive to repair on a fixed income.
I daily a 16 ford fusion, but have a 10th gen as sort of a project truck mostly, but i also paid $400 (needed a transmission and the ac didnt blow cold). Had it for 3 years as I’ve slowly worked to restore it more and more. 244k miles, 4.6 2wd and hasnt let me down. Had the same drivetrain in my 99 crown vic years ago. Solid engine
My dad has a truck that looks exactly like that. He's elderly so it's lightly used and still in great shape with many miles left. It's never leaving the family. 👍
My favorite truck my dad had was a 98 F150 4x4 4.6 v8 5 Speed manual such a good truck i miss it but my grandpa has it now my dad worked it to death so its completely worn out and rusted but my grandpa still drives it to get lumber once in a while.
Besides the fact that my 03 f150 4.6 is rusty as shit and I can’t work on most things on the undercarriage without needing a heat gun to get bolts out, it’s a fucking amazing truck
I’ve heard stories back in the day from my grandfather he even said if you where a dirt poor tradesmen guys would pick up a old station wagon for the work horse too easy
Nice rant except I don't agree with poking fun a kids for not having experienced something which is becoming rare. If we want kids to learn we as adults need to teach them. I had a 2004 XL heritage model exactly that one except it was an 8ft bed. Was bare bones 2wd, V6, 5sp, work truck package, crank windows, with the extended range 30gal fuel tank. Purchased new in summer of 2004 for the tidy sum of $12,500! I moved myself three times and helped my friends move at least two or three more times. Towed multiple cars. Lots of swap meets. Went camping. Hauled firewood. Still on the road today (in 2024) as my brother's daily driver after his car was totaled hitting a deer last year. Adjusted for inflation in 2024 that is just over $20,000. Can't buy a new pickup truck with an 8ft bed for anywhere near that price. I just looked cheapest volume dealer near me has an F150 XL with an 8ft bed for $35,000. Cheapest GM 1500 is $38,000! Ram doesn't even build an 8ft bed 1500 anymore. When I find a 10th generation F150 long bed for sale in decent condition it generally listed for $5,000 with high miles and closer to $10,000 with low miles. Insanity. As for why I got rid of that truck: I had started a family, my wife and I were both working full time, and two car seats don't fit into a truck with a manual transmission floor shifter. Thus I had to swap it for something family friendly. I chose a used grand cherokee instead of a quad cab truck or minivan (although the wife is starting to come around to the idea of an AWD minivan) and bought a small trailer to replace the pickup bed.
My last truck was a 1979 base model 2WD Chevy with a short box. I paid $4,500 for it when it was 4 years old. Unfortunately, since we live in Western NY, rust ultimately got it. I wish I could still buy the equivalent. One of the strangest comments I've heard recently was from an owner of a new truck with 4 doors and a tiny bed. He chose it so nobody would ask him to haul anything. So, why buy a truck? My 23 year old Saturn solves the problem of people wanting me to haul stuff a lot cheaper.
I had an 11th gen F150 regular cab. It was great--still a real truck! 4.6L 2V engine, no VVT bs. The cool thing about that truck is that it had little back doors to access a decent space behind the seat to store my tools and more valuable stuff that I didn't want to put in the bed. Then the 5.4L 3V showed up and things started going downhill.
my dad had a 98 ford expediton bought it new lasted years had over 330000 miles on it before some one put the wrong spark plug in it and cracked the piston but had the orginal motor and tranny in it
1999 f150 4.2 with 198000 miles, gonna drive it to hopefully million miles, in texas with no rust, didnt get the best in a crash test rating, but oh well, thing just keeps going, and its my daily and i look at new trucks, but honestly dont want them, i use this truck for work everyday and have a full load in the back like all the time cuz i do scrap metal as a side job, just gonna put a new engine in it when this engine dies, probably not for a while though
I got a 97' K1500 and a 99'F150. I worked at Ford as a tech and honestly I would not trade either one for whats on the lot F series wise. I would opt for a surplus cop Explorer or Tahoe over a newer pickup. Vinyl floors and column shifts, no frills. And if ya take the seats out plenty of room to haul stuff. Those are gonna be the blue collar vehicles of the coming near future.
Used to have a 2001 baby Tacoma to get me from college and back. 4 cylinders and small. My favorite truck ever made. Even hauled cargo in it. Mostly sand bags to keep the wheels grounded and prevent spinning but other than that I adored it. Crank windows, shotty AC, and no radio. Man those were good times.
Moved a snowblower in my Corolla, 55 gallon fish tank fits in the back seat, can’t haul refrigerators in an SUV or a van traded a 91 2 wd F for a 2wd 3 pedal Tacoma, I prefer the heavier half ton, more comfortable ,larger
My pops just gave me the truck that they bought the year I was born. The year 2000. I ordered like 1000$ worth of parts off eBay. Cheap stuff so it's a lot of crap. I'm halfway of installing everything and damn I'm falling in love with the truck again. I used to think the thing was so cool back in the day. Went from mamalona with spinner 20" wheels. To a work truck with steelies and now 320k miles. Now in my possession is has a few more modern touches. Can't wait to have it to my personal spec
I drive a 2001 f150 regular cab long box 4x4. Great work truck got it in 2023 at 105k miles. Mint condition, has some engine issues but once I got that fixed. Its a great truck. Had issues here and there but not crazy expensive to fix and most is easy to DIY
The 4r100 that comes with the 5.7L V8 is a great reliable slushbox. You can get a PCS for it if you want to control the gears and torque converter locking
I've Got 3 F Series Trucks & Love Them ALL. Between That & Road Trips To Pick Up Car Parts, This Thing Has Paid For Itself Multiple Times Over !!! Another One Is My 03' F350xl Super Duty, 5.4 2V Triton, Reg Cab, 8' Bed, Crank Windows, That Would Handle Anything That My 02' Couldn't But I Haven't Found That Yet. And Finally, I've Got My One Owner 2005 F250xl 4x4, 5.4 3V w/116K, Reg Cab, 8' Bed, That I Scored Off My Friend Who Only Did Local Landscape & Plowing Since The Day He Bought It Brand New. I'm Not Exactly Thrilled With The Way That My 05' 3V Compares To The Other 2V Motors. Either One Of Them With A Chain Hooked Up Would Drag It Around A Parking Lot Backwards But I Still Love All 3 Of Them & I'll Never Own Any Other Truck Besides A FORD !!! FoMoCoMoFo's !!!!!!!
I bought my 01 4x4 with 230k miles for $3k (precovid). This truck hasnt given me any problems at all for 40k miles now, unlike my newer 2018 focus st which has to do a full engine rebuild. 95-2008, back when vehicles were made to last.
You are right, I also am not a Ford guy although I just picked up my 3rd F150. I got a rust free 97 Reg Cab Short Bed 2wd with the 4.6 Auto.. just something about the 10th gen Fords that I really like too.,
I'll bet adjusting that manual passenger side rearview mirror is a pain in the butt! Having a minimum level of power accessories is worth it, especially if you drive in traffic.
One of my favorite trucks I've owned was a 1996 Toyota T100 2wd 5-speed regular cab with the 8 foot bed. It was so easy to load anything since it sat so low. The 2.7 was a great motor, too. I have a stock 2014 F150 STX regular cab now, and the bed is almost up to my chin, and I'm 5' 11
As a card carrying member of the brick nose chapter of obs trucks I can accept the tenth Gen into the obs fold. That 4.2 was a good motor very underappreciated.
I agree this generation of trucks is the best, they are incredibly reliable and cheap to maintain, you have the manual, those are very hard to find anymore
I got a v6 2011 f150 single cab long bed work truck. I use it as my everything car. I work the heck out of it doing renovations/handyman work. The bed is constantly full of flooring, Siding, cabinets and other stuff. Tow jetskis and or a small camper on the weekend. The v6 is good because when I need to work on it I can hop inside the engine bay because there's so much empty space with no turbos and whatnot. Also got a pretty good deal on it last yr 130k miles for $6k
Still own a single cab Colorado. Everything you said is do true! Frustrates me to know end. I use my truck for work all the time but when it dies, im buying a panel van
I have a 2003 STX 4X4. It's both my work/leisure vehicle. It's got the cloth 60/40 bench. Wouldn't have it any other way. I've driven it from Sac to Southern California I don't even know how many times. It currently has 350k, and hopefully it will get many more. Don't beat them up, and keep up with general maintenance. Treat them right, and they will usually return the favor.
I'm probably one of the last teenage guys that agree with this guy, I drive an 3 door 6.5' bed 1998 F-150, and i only use the back row for tools/a subwoofer, and occasionally a younger brother. that and my friend's 92' chevy W/T regular cab long box are my 2 favorite trucks, and we make bank off of local jobs with them.
I have 2 F250's both 2015's ones a 6.2 gas the other a 6.7 power stroke diesel both XLT's 4wd Regular cab long beds love em! I've had the crew cab short bed sold it
Well the V6 isn’t a triton, and nothing wrong with the tritons anyway, the Ford mod motors are extremely simple, strong, and reliable. Not to mention pretty smooth too.
I also live in Montana where people do actually need the 4wd, so an Suv or truck does make since, but half our population still owns Ford Excursions, so honestly we're just different up here lol
Same. Some people have to villainize anyone with a four door truck who doesn’t have a full bed and trailer every day. But it’s the college kids with 3” lifted King Ranch trucks on 20” wheels with low profile tires and a 4” diameter exhaust tip that are the real menace in my area.
Side note, because they super sized the full size as a family sedan with a small bed (Explorer Sport-trac), they then did that to the small trucks. Those of us that wanted a Ranger, S10, Tacoma with good gas mileage that was super cheap with a 6' bed are screwed even more.
I have a 2002 F250 4x4 with a regular cab and a 8' bed. It does have air power windows and a am fm radio with cassette player and a cd player .I would have bought a F150 at the time but I needed it to pull a 32' rv that I just sold. You're right a truck should just be a truck and all the stuff they added to them has made the prices skyrocket. I also agree with you about those stupid lights that people put on their trucks. My truck rides like a truck which is like driving a lumber wagon. The only complaint I have is all the things I have had to have replaced from the transmission being rebuilt the engine being replaced twice the first one with a used one that had 75k then I drove it 20k until it got a bad headgasket. Then I had a new 5.4 jasper engine put in that has a 3year 100k warranty. I replaced body panels from all the rust replaced the rims since they were rusted out and new tires along with many other things. With all the repairs its still cheaper then a newer truck.
I have Ford F-150, 2000 model year. I am keeping it and restoring it. 10th generation truck is better than the new one. Newer trucks are junk and a waste of money. We need new simple trucks back. 🤔🇨🇦🇺🇲👍
We have a 1000-acre cattle ranch, and We have two 01 Ford Excursions with V10s. We've had them for 20 years, one had 380.000 miles and the other 296.000 miles you ought to see what we put them through they are flat out indestructible.
100% agree,to me a truck is a tool not a fashion statement,if the interior can not be washed out with a hose it is not for me.If the bed can not haul 50 bays of hay,it is not a truck.
If you only include the big 3, yeah I'd say the last good generations of overall truck construction and engineering ended around 2011-2014. Toyota on the other hand, was still making the Tundra like a tank until the newest generation. My 2016 Tundra is built similarly to a half ton from 2008. Still an over engineered frame with an open C rear frame, reinforced middle, and boxed front. Super low diff ratios from the factory (4.30s), a really crazy overbuilt 6 speed auto, and basically zero aluminum. It has a 6.5ft bed and what I think is the perfect cab size for needing extra guys in the truck (double cab). Then you throw in the 5.7 with its crazy good 3600 rpm peak torque and insane longevity/reliability AND the auxiliary trans cooler from the factory ... No complaints here other than MPG in stop and go.
I ain't selling my 98 Ram 1500 until the frame cracks in half. Even that's a maybe. 5.2, 4x4, extended cab, 6.5ft bed, bone stock (and it will STAY bone stock). Wish it was a long bed, but the price was right. Made my money back on what I spent on the truck ($4,000) ten fold already by hauling random stuff for people. Used it and still use it for everything from paving stones to dirt bikes.
These pickups started the downfall. They were styled like a minivan, and they have crappy engines that are halfway under the dash and difficult to service. The 90s fords were the last good ones.
Dude you're 100% wrong. 97 to 03 Ford's are very durable. Change the plugs every 90k and torque them more than factory spec. 300k all day long. I own 3 of them. Solid vehicles.
Kind of sucks that they discontinued the 300ci and no longer make an inline 6. And the twin I beam suspension was stronger, though apparently some 2wd super duties still have it?
I work from home on a computer but love my 12v and 24v 2nd gens. I get groceries with them. The 12v is manual with a single cab long bed. Makes dump runs and visits to the hardware store fun. Keeping them forever, new vehicles don't do it for me.
I agree with what you're saying, but I'd go one step further. My 08' F150 I think is the last real truck. 8ft bed, regular cab, manual locks and windows, vinyl floor, and if I'm not mistaken, 08' F150 was the last 1/2 Ton to offer a 5 speed, which mine has. You're right but I think just off by one generation. I still see a fair amount of them around too.
Still got a 2015 Silverado, i bought it new. Disabled that AFM crap. I actually use the 4wd and haul stuff with it. I hope it lasts another 10 years, it's been reliable but i am meticulous with maintenance.
2:10 there’s a lot of regular cab pickups in my area (Ozarks), and a ton of extended cabs. There’d be a lot more regular cabs if people could actually buy them, but they’re very hard to even find.
I want a Body on Frame full size, Midsize and compact pickup with a Regular cab 6 foot bed, a available manual transmission and a naturally aspirated engine without fuel management garbage from the big three with a base MSRP of $30k for the full size and well under $30k for the other with more 90s/ early 00s features between the base work truck and the second lowest trim package. Back in the day for Ford it was between the XL and the XLT in the 11th gen is when Ford introduced the STX I believe. Who’s with me!
Yep. Blue collar here. Out priced of a truck. Corollas actually have decent space. I know of someone that put 500’000 miles on that 3.0 and I believe the model after that. Cheap SUV’s or vans are the way to go!
You can still get a new Ford F-150 regular cab with a 8 foot bed for between 36 and 40k dollars. The F-150 is Ford's bread and butter and has been continually improved over the years. They build 900, 000 of them per year.
Ford spent a fortune making the 10th gen F150 more car like and ironically it was the gen that made the trucks replace family cars. Prior to the 97-03 model years you just had the Eddie Bauer/Lariat spec or Lightning which were upmarket. The 10th gen dropped Eddie Bauer and added Harley Davidson, King Ranch, etc. I still have a 99 XLT 5.4 that is very inexpensive and easy to repair. That is the beauty of the truck. At the end of 2019, a Ford dealer in my area was getting rid of new 2019 XLT single cab 8 foot bed 5 liter V8 with alloy wheels, fog lamps, chrome trim, etc..for $26K out the door. I regret not buying. I thought about it but did not absolutely need a new truck. These days Ford only offers the 8 foot bed on the XL but optioned similarly, the same truck is around $45K. We are on the verge of any vehicle with a V8 costing over $100K minimum. So sad when you consider the massive environmental damages done by mass producing EVs and hybrids that require mining minerals using heavy diesel equipment. Millions of gallons of fresh water are consumed, air and ground water is polluted, and the carbon energy equivalent of driving an existing midsized car for 5 years is spent just to build one green car. People pretend none of that takes place.
@fastinradfordable 5.4 is a cake walk compared to EcoBoost crap. Water pump on a 5.4 is a 90 minute job. On the ecoboost is requires disassembly of around 20-30% of the engine.
I realized why your towing review vs the ram felt all over the road, it’s the steering box that needed adjustment, I did it on my own and it fixed it so much. Only swapped tie rods when I redid the front suspension
Back in the day half ton, straight sixes, 3 on the tree transmissions and OMG , wait for it. Take a knee if necessary 2 wd standard cab pickups where hands down the best bang for the buck.
Youre actually part of the reason why i got that specific ford, and it just so happened to be the 4.2 as well. Im just as guilty as the people you targeted, but i knew not to spend that much money as one would on a denali just to drive 3 miles to my job. Anyways, its my project truck, and i was wondering was it difficult for you to reach the spark plugs? Maybe you could start a series on where certain parts are located bc im still new to it. Thanks, great content btw.
I vote minivan, especially ones whose 2nd and 3rd row fold into the floor. Got a 2007 Grand Caravan like that, it gets used just like the larger panel van in the fleet, just smaller. 10 foot pipe sections and 4'x8' plywood sheet are a bit tight, but it'll do it.
When I got my 2nd gen Tacoma, I made sure to get one with the access cab and 6.5 foot bed so I can actually haul things around. I don't get the point of having a 4 door truck with a super short bed and a cap over it. At that point, you essentially have a suv.
Man, im telling you i would kill to see you do a review on the 2nd gen toyota avalons, i got mine a couple months ago at 260k miles and it still runs like i bought it straight from factory.
Not to sound bad but I remember when full sized beds were 8ft long with the gate closed. I miss my 74 f100. My current truck is a 10th gen supercab 6ft bed gate closed. I mostly use it these days for moving firewood and other such things
It’s the early 2000s my dad opens his own tree service and buys a fleet of these 4.6/5.4 F150s, not even a year later down to 2 running and the other 8-10 in the shop, had to lay off bunch of guys because the f150’s all ate up they’re motors or head damage from spark plugs, needless to say the company had to get sold and my dad hasnt been able to finacially recover from that mistake that ford wouldn’t cover under warranty even being brand new. The worst financial decision to ever make it out into public period.
10th gens are the red headed step child of f150s. also working on the engines sucks on these as well as the suspension especially the rear shocks. But all that being said I personally like them alot. I love the 97' 7 lug with the 2 valve 5.4L that's designated as an F250
“But I need a lifted 2500 diesel to tow my 2 jet skis once a year, yeah I work in a office and live in the suburbs but I need a big ass truck. I need it to be lifted with rubber band mud tires even though it’s never been off pavement.”

As a 10th gen owner, they are a very under valued truck.
I've had my 97 short bed regular cab 4.6 lariat 4x4 since 2005. Its been an awesome truck. 250000 miles. I'll never buy another truck. If it ever needs a motor or trans I'll put one in or rebuild. These new trucks are outrageous price.

People finally realized that it was a waste of resources to have car for family driving AND a truck for work in the driveway we just combined them.
but instead of an el camino its soccer moms in powerstrokes with dual axels for pulling the 5th wheel trying to parallel park outside of applebees
I saw a landscaper using a Buick LeSabre to haul his trailer. These yuppies really don’t need a truck
I love my 2002 SVT Lightning ⚡️⚡️ Which I bought new in May 2002. The 10th generation is my favorite F-Series.
Nothing but truth in this video!
Love my 1986 base model f150. 4.9l. Single cab!
I’ve heard stories back in the day from my grandfather he even said if you where a dirt poor tradesmen guys would pick up a old station wagon for the work horse too easy
yes, it’s like guys now with old minivans.
That’s surprising, I thought in the “back in the day” trucks were dirt cheap because nobody wanted them unless they needed one.
I have a '97 F150 XLT 4X4 I bought in 2000. Mainly use it to haul stuff when needed. My wife can't understand why I don't sell it an buy a new one 😊
Funny enough people are still gonna ask him to haul stuff.
My dad bought a f150 nascar 4x4. It’s red. He’s put a little over 500,000 miles. He’s had it since it was new.
What year is it?
My mother owned a 01 xlt super crew for 3 kids. We used it to go sell, best family truck it was
I got a 97' K1500 and a 99'F150.
Explores are garbage bro
@@fastinradfordable True! But they were good back in the mid 1990s when they used the 3.0 V6 engine
Those F150s are good. And I'm a Chevrolet man.
Had issues here and there but not crazy expensive to fix and most is easy to DIY
not gonna lie i love my rocklights on my truck and i use it for work almost everyday
Great video! I have the same truck. 99 f150 short bed reg cab. Been driving it daily since 2001. It’s been a great truck.
Those are some good trucks. The best Ford ever made probably. The last of the good fords. They are tough, drive good, last forever.
I love my 2002 F-150 single cab 8ft bed. And it’s automatic, great work truck
The way inflation has gotten, your 2002 F150 would be worth spending up to 8K if it needed an engine (so long as it isnt a rusted one)
@@EarlGuyton425 it’s got it’s normal Ford rust, and it’s a V6 great gas mileage. I just hit 110,000 miles
The 4r100 that comes with the 5.7L V8 is a great reliable slushbox. You can get a PCS for it if you want to control the gears and torque converter locking
i miss the regular cab manual transmission manual crank window trucks i also think the 10th gen ford f150 was the last best and real truck they made
I've got an '03 F150 with the 5.4 Triton and an '06 F250 with the 6.0. Love them both
I've Got 3 F Series Trucks & Love Them ALL. But My 02' F150xlt 4x4, 5.4 2V w/ Stainless Hedders & Flowmaster Dual Exhaust,
Extended Cab Stepside Lariat w//7700 Tow Capacity & The Bigger 9.75" Rear Diff That's LOADED With Gray Leather Buckets, Center Console Armrest, Sunroof,
Etc., Etc. Is My Favorite & A BEAST !!! I've Used It For Work Towing Cars On Trailer's & Dolley's, & My Trailer Like I Wasn't Towing Anything Back There. Between That & Road Trips To Pick Up Car Parts, This Thing Has Paid For Itself Multiple Times Over !!! Another One Is My 03' F350xl Super Duty, 5.4 2V Triton, Reg Cab, 8' Bed,
Crank Windows, That Would Handle Anything That My 02' Couldn't
But I Haven't Found That Yet.
Having a minimum level of power accessories is worth it, especially if you drive in traffic.
she is just like my 4x4 extended cab minus my weight reduction, and i totally agree with you brother!
Watching this in an 04 Heritage 6 cyl 5 spd. It's awesome!
I have a 23yr 250,000mile Cyber Truck aka 2001 Silverado 1500 w/ 12.9in. IPAD Mount.
I've had the crew cab short bed sold it
I daily my 2002 crew cab f-150 lol
I tend to stay away from the triton engine, but I do like old trucks and manual transmissions.
Well the V6 isn’t a triton, and nothing wrong with the tritons anyway, the Ford mod motors are extremely simple, strong, and reliable. Not to mention pretty smooth too.
My uncle drove a drw 3500 silverado to tow his camper a few times a year. He also owned a 25 year old Toyota carolla
I also live in Montana where people do actually need the 4wd, so an Suv or truck does make since, but half our population still owns Ford Excursions, so honestly we're just different up here lol
I can only afford 1 car (insurance here is $2700/yr minimum ) that is why I use my truck with family too.
Same. Some people have to villainize anyone with a four door truck who doesn’t have a full bed and trailer every day. But it’s the college kids with 3” lifted King Ranch trucks on 20” wheels with low profile tires and a 4” diameter exhaust tip that are the real menace in my area.
Before I got my 6foot bed Tacoma I used to have to use my old Sienna 2001 as a pickup lol. Even lived and worked outta it at the same time.
Side note, because they super sized the full size as a family sedan with a small bed (Explorer Sport-trac), they then did that to the small trucks. Those of us that wanted a Ranger, S10, Tacoma with good gas mileage that was super cheap with a 6' bed are screwed even more.
If it has 4 doors, it should have power windows. Sunroofs were the original dupe. Everything has one now. No truck should have a sunroof
These F 150'S Are Great Trucks, However Here In New England, Everything Rusts Out! Tough To Find A Clean One, Your Report Is Spot On Thanks!
Last real truck ever made was the 1985 c10 any truck made after that is to modern for my liking.
You know 86 and 87 c10s are the same as the 85 right?
88 they came out with the 4th Gen C/K
99 4 cyl 4x4 Tacoma auto air only options. No delay wipers manual locking hubs manual transfer case crank windows. Never getting rid of it
If you only include the big 3, yeah I'd say the last good generations of overall truck construction and engineering ended around 2011-2014.
Spoken like someone who’s never owned one. These were great trucks if taken care of.
They're still using the Twin I Beam on the 2wd super duty trucks. Very good front end.
This right here
I work from home on a computer but love my 12v and 24v 2nd gens.
I hope it lasts another 10 years, it's been reliable but i am meticulous with maintenance.
perfect rant!!!!

5.4 is NOT easy to work on😂😂😂
It didn’t have chrome trim.
It had plastic with chrome painted on n
@fastinradfordable The bumpers are made of plastic?
@fastinradfordable 5.4 is a cake walk compared to EcoBoost crap. Water pump on a 5.4 is a 90 minute job. On the ecoboost is requires disassembly of around 20-30% of the engine.
@@fastinradfordableyou can pull heads on them in under 4 hours of work. That's as easy as it gets.
I've been driving my 06 Silverado for 140k miles now.
My old-time favorite is 2005 Chevy Silverado WT 1500 4.3 single cab 8 foot bed manual window's
I’m the one with the regular cab full size bed, 2011 f350 baby
Vw rabbit pickup tdi swap
6’ bed 75MPG
I have a black one that cost $500 just like this giving it to my brother.
Sounds like it's time for another crap car challenge! Minivan vs SUV. Which makes the best improv pickup truck?
