The Lights Parade Hemyock 2017

The theme for the 2017 Hemyock Lights Parade was the River Culm and the endangered White-clawed Crayfish, under threat from the growing population of the invasive American Signal Crayfish. The giant white crayfish, made from willow and tissue-paper led the procession through the village with models of trout, dragon-fly larvae, a kingfisher and even an otter following among the waves of lanterns.
It was a spectacular night with music en-route from the local samba band and drummers and thousands of people filling Station Road behind the procession.
