Very helpful. I'm kind of hoping you do the compression refret. I have an older Harmony that might need that procedure if a heat/pressure neck straightening doesn't work.

I usually see people going up and down the frets and not side to side with the sanding level.
You probably know what you're doing but it's just something that goes against what I've seen others do (including twoodfrd)

You can sand in any direction as long as the sanding beam hits every fret, the same amount of times.

He doesn't know what he is doing. He didn't even include the 14th fret and on with the initial fret level. Then wonders why it's buzzing. Omg

With that comment I can see you don’t know what you’re talking about or you haven’t ever done this before. The fall away from the 14th fret could not be included in that initial fret level. You’d have no frets left if you try that …good luck, sir.

I think you are in pretty good shape right where you are. I know we all want perfection, but every guitar is unique and has it own voice. In some music the little buzz or click here and there makes the song, just like the screech from your calluses. I've seen many neck resets and fall away is common. I have only done one, and was quite nerve racking. Now IMO, there is nothing wrong with putting a slither of wood or wedge under the fretboard extension, to keep it level. Even on a new build. Think about it, flat top, neck angle, we can't change the law of physics. On that guitar, it is a shame that they didn't keep the radius, but not the end of the world. I say that guitar is good to go, if it needs a fret job in the future, then you can get it a little better. IMO, Nice Job!

You don't have a clue. I have never seen anything like this! 😢 you should have leveled all the frets at the same time. up and down the fretboardwith Not side to side! With some 14 inch beat to hell level! I have never seen anyone sand down frets side to side and wow! A file to hit little spots where you didn't even level the frets from the 14th on! Are you serious?
If a strait edge shows the neck and fingerboard are strait, then all frets will be level when you sand all of them at once. You created your own problem! I've never seen anything like this. Who would possibly trust you with their Martin? Not me! I am surprised you were even able to get it to play right.
You went in the back door, out the side window, around the house to the other window, out the back door to enter the front door. Wow!

I appreciate what you’re saying a little harsh. If I took .005” off those frets it would be too much. My goal was to get it level and playing which it is, although the guitar is dangerously close to needing a refret.

It seems that guitars can be a real pain in the backside at times lol

He created his own problem. Nothing strange other than his work ethics. That is not how that should be done. Yes I work on stringed instruments. This was bad.
