Hi Tabi-e. Noticed this time you soaked your rice before cooking. A shortcut we do during outdoor camping in the mountain is to boil the water first before we put the white rice grains. But I am not sure if rice variety can affect results. Take care.
Sticky rice requires some soaking to get some of the starch off the rice. And makes it easier to cook.

Can I make a suggestion? Try keeping your fuel canisters in the heated part of the van until you need them, they will burn nice and evenly then :D
