Is virtiofs only on newer Debian based distros? I’m attempting to have an Ubuntu 16.04 VM run on an Ubuntu 24.04 host. I can install virtiofsd on 24.04 just fine, but the step of mounting the share in the 16.04 returns the error “unknown file system type ‘virtiofs’”. It looks like virtiofs is not available in the apt repo for 16.04 either. Any help is appreciated.
I was looking all over for this one thing... I was using Gnome Boxes because it's simpler. And they had pretty much had drag and drop automatically but then a few months ago I couldn't get my snapshots to work right and I don't have a big drive so I couldn't keep 2 or more vm's at once. But it did have drag and drop from both my host and vm drag and drop automatically. But then I went to Virt-Manager and they had drag and drop to the vm but I couldn't drag it back from the vm. And I didn't know why... I was searching on and off for weeks with nothing. I looked up DT (Derek Taylor) and he showed how to do that but I think it was about 2 yeas ago when he did that video (I think), so the filesystem driver changed and I couldn't figure it out. I looked up again at how to do it and then your video popped up today. And I know shared folders and drag and drop are different, kida. So, thank you for showing me how and walking me through it.
I was just wondering, I know you can drag and drop from the host machine but you can't drag and drop from the vm... I was wondering, how you do that. Do you know? Because I can't find anywhere where it shows how to go the other way, from the vm to the host. That would be better for me, although this works too, just a thought. Thanks.
Excellent! Very good guide!
Thanks!
Very important video, please add more since I had hard time doing that on my own.
You got it!

Another guide for windows guest would be good too
Sure.
The quality of your tutorials is way above the average. Are you the co-author of the guide "Securing and Optimizing Linux"?
I’m so glad you liked it! In regards to 'Securing and Optimizing Linux', I am not associated with it in any way.
@@SysGuides The name of one of the two authors is Madhu. 🙂
@@MrClaudiograssi What a strange coincidence. My short and long name is also the same as the author's. But I guarantee you, I am not that person. 😄😝
What’s your favorite distro? Fedora?
Cool 👍🏻 Thanks 😉
Any time!
greate thank you
You are welcome!
