Hi Royal! Seeing your love for yasuo and his different builds really makes me want to leave a comment on what I think is the best current mathmetically build on yasuo
Personally, I think the optimal build for yasuo is
Long sword (starting), Steelcaps/Merc (depends on heavy ad or ap, who is melee since you'll be using windwall to block most ranged dmg), Heartsteel, ISB, IE, BT, Titanic
LT, brutal, giant slayer(/last stand), alacrity, overgrowth
The reason for this build is that while I think armor is important, I'm not a big fan of it since armor past 100 is not mathemtically/gold efficient (like, it is SO bad unless you stack a lottt of hp) and is WAYY more gold efficient to build health (higher "apparent health" which means your real health value including armor). And since most champions both hit 100AR with just boots or 90+ naturally at lvl15 with no items I don't think its efficient to build AR aside from steelcaps (since the passive +10% block is a flat increase and not like the incremental dmg reduc decrease AR value provides, basically making it mathetically and literally better than thormail despite being half the gold. Which iirc is 18% vs 14%)
Secondly, BT is probably the best AD item for yasuo as it gives the higest 95AD, which only loses to MR at -1% dps loss against a lvl15 ADC with no AR and health items, but it has 12%vamp. BT is probably interchangable with MR depending on the enemy comp like you mentioned, as it gets better the higher the health and AR the enemy has.
Lastly, I also think titanic is the best finishing item for yasuo because over +1000health titanic gives 40AD. With this build (and overgrowth), by lvl15 as your last item you consistently have over 1900HP (350 overgrowth, 300heartsteel) which is 62AD exluding the 1.75s cleave passive dmg.
I feel the only questionable part of this build is building in HS since its powercurve feels so awful on yasuo since most of this agency comes from his early-mid game power but I think it's power is still generally passable and more importantly HS is the best tank item for yasuo (stat and gold efficency wise as it's a pure HP item, if you read above my opinion about AR), also gets value with titanic (Divine is only situationally worth for tanks), and has a bonus stacks hp.
The only downside with this build is that yasuo atkspd isn't optimised (80%lvl5 and 45%lvl15) but I think covering it with LT (35% total from alacrity+ISB) more than solves it's problem since early you are more playing tank than dmg yasuo (I also really agree with your opinion on Conq vs LT and personally I also really hate LT compared to conq since it you actually run a dmg build and max atkspd first with long sword start, then triple dagger for ISB and BORK/Terminus, LT is COMPLETELY useless past lvl6-7, literally making it a dead keystone)
Personally, I have considered trying to squeeze in steraks since it is the best finishing item on most AD champions (60AD+, 400hp plus shielding) but the problem is it just leads to an awful buildpath.
also, I think solari is NOT a good item given that it has the same AD stats as ISB early (40 vs 50) so its not even that great of burst and only provides +~50dmg (+50x2.1crit/100AR 50%reduc) at lvl15 which both hilariously small compared to 600 shielding that u can get at 2 items
also, I just wanna say this is just a 'mathematically correct' build and I do know builds should never be fixed (like when you should run full dmg like you mentioned, which i have my own build opinion about) and there is much room for adapting (namely BORK, Divine, and DD/Maw for yasuo).

While you are optimizing his stats with this build you are completely ruining his early game power spikes. The lack of attack speed in the early game and the lack of damage with only heartsteel as a first item is going to waste your strong early game.

I do agree that this doesn't use his early game powerspikes, for me I use this more as my version of this 'tank' build.
I've been experiementing a lot with HS first item because while he has a really strong early game I feel he really doesn't carry his lead well into mid+ even if he gets fed from first building atkspd and damage as his problem is that while he has big damage his plays are limited to skirting around anyone who can one shot him (random of rek top, panth jg) despite how fed he is or is just out of the fight after ulting and getting 1-2 kills cus he runs out of hp because of the random amount of chip damage he takes (one ezreal Q here, karma ult there, etc)
Most hp defensive items (divine, DD etc) don't really give enough hp to let you face tank most chip damage that may be pointnclick/ aoe/smthing ranged after his windwall is gone he suffers cus he runs out of hp (i don't think divine is significant if you face like some random enemies i put above, or like u use it on ezreal face or smthing) and I don't think vamp is significant on yasuo since most of these champions just need to take a quick 'turn' to one shot you before you can even heal a decent amount.
again these are just my own experience i have no idea if these are objectively right.
but yes this isn't a every game thing depending on what kind of enemy champs you have to face. It's just often enough for me that I find myself somewhat frequently using this build
I didn't read this whole thing, but just wanted to push back on the "armor past 100 is inefficient" idea. Most people understand that stacking armor gives diminishing returns for the percentage damage reduction; however, it does *not* give diminishing returns in terms of the effective health vs physical damage. Say you have 2000 hp and 100 AR, giving you 4000 effective HP vs physical damage. Buying a ruby crystal will give you +150 HP, which translates to +300 effective HP vs physical damage, whereas buying a cloth armor gives you +20 AR, which translates to +400 effective HP vs physical damage. So if you're optimizing vs physical damage, the "mathematically correct" option would be the armor.
Obviously this is an oversimplification and there's a lot of other factors to consider (magic/true damage in enemy comp, %AR pen, item effects, also dealing damage, etc), but the fact is that, the more HP you have, the more gold efficient armor becomes, and vice versa.

Yups I agree, I think your point is super valid but is just that the amount of raw health you need to outvalue 500G spend in 150HP vs 20AR is too high unless your tank

I think either you miscalculated (?) or there's something I dont understand
100AR to 120AR is 5% increased reduction, so for 2000HP you gain +100Hp(not 400?) and 150Hp ruby crystal you gain +7.5HP.
So even including 2000 base hp and an additional ruby if you added both up its still 107.5HP (from cloth ar) < 150Hp (ruby crys) if you spent 500G
I know there's a graph online of someone who plotted hp against ar efficiency with the line on when to buy either but I don't understand his math either rip

fk wait I've been trying to figure this out for a rly long time now and I feel like this is basic math that I don't get but I can't understand why there is a difference in value when I calculated it based on your own hp vs when calculated based on your damage taken
If you use 2000hp base, 55% of 2000 = 2100hp which means +100
If you use damage taken you need 2000 -> 4400dmg = +400
but 400 isn't 5% more hp even though dmg reduc went from 50 -> 55%, its 20%. WHY
ah hell im out of free time for now ill do this ltr i think i need to write this down on paper to see the comparison. fk i kinda get something is intuitively wrong but this is giving me a math exsistential crisis..
@@Anonymous-me7np fwiw if you want to just directly calculate effective HP vs physical damage, the equation is EHP=HP×(1+AR/100). The way i think it is intuitive to think of the armor stat is "how much more effective HP do I have per 100 HP", so at 1000 HP, a cloth armor gives you +200 HP, +400 at 2000 HP, and so on
For nice and informative content to understand the different builds. I am not good macro-wise, so i almost always going tank, but at least now i understand what to focus in the match. Also, there is the Heartsteel build. Do you recommend it by any chance?

As a BrokenSupport enthusiast, tank yasuo is so annoying: normally, a 2-3 item thresh can 1v1 most ADCs, including damage yasuo. But throw in a wit's end and a divine sunderer into the mix, and suddenly he can survive against you with a sliver of hp forever, even with anti heal.
Could you make a new Ezreal video? I see him ranked in God tier multiple times in your tier lists, but I honestly don’t see how that’s possible and your last Ezreal video was months ago. Since Kraken is gone, other champs keep getting more damage to one shot Ezreal, and tanks/engage champs continue to shut him down…how is he meta in any possible scenario?

Sometimes you ultimately too fast. A lot of times you can get an auto or two or an e+q or even an auto + e + q before ulting. And trust me this is not just to look flashy it makes a lot of difference damage wise. And on top of the more dmg if you do a q or an eq before ulting you also get your tornado faster and you provide way more utility in the fight.

I don't like Wit's End on Yasuo. Especially if it's the only AS item. It doesn't have any crit, so you're losing a lot of tank shredding potential. I prefer Solari Chargeblade since I can deal much more damage with it
I saw the top guy usung this build so i used it and won my 1st match. Then next 3 match the adc and mid were very fed so i got bursted down in in secs but i could dash it.

I know it’s good build but I dislike this version of Yas. It’s a crutch for people who have no idea how to play the character. It give you a lot of breaks for making a mistake because grasp will heal you back up when you miss a tornado or a combo.

I think after lvl 1 yone vs yasuo is skill match up. Cuz yone has e that lets him poke always with advantage and w to proc yas passive. Also a good yone can easily dodge yas knockup with e. Yasuo has one of the worst time dodging yone ult.
