Why wonder about the floods, other than the drainage that never worked, all the riparian areas have been grabbed, all the way including athi river..how do we expect the water to drain?. Kenyans must pay for their mistakes on the ballot, they refuse to vote in tested technocrats to serve them. Both the past and current leadership is to blame

They are only trying to solve runoff of rain water ignoring the real problem which is reduction of surfaces that would soak the water in to the soil. Every time you cement a surface, tarmac or cover by iron sheets, you reduce infiltration of rain water. This will require we expand x2 our drainage diameter every ten years or so if we are to continue building by the rate we are doing now. This would include expanding the width of Athi river x2 for a length of several kilometers. Another thing is that tall buildings should be encouraged to only use the ground floors as parking spaces for rain water until the flooding has ceased,

Nairobi is a swamp originally so we shouldn't entirely blame the management. When residents block all waterways and throw garbage anyhowly, what did they expect.

Urban Planning failures i.e building by Riperian areas. Short cuts taken and incompetent leadership chairing these projects. What is Sakaja doing with the city drainage?

Nairobi should operate with 1 governor and 4 Lt. Governors for North, South, East & West as a metropolitan county. Each will be accountable for their areas and report to the governor.

That's the stupidest idea I've ever heard, instead of appointing stupid and unworthy politicians who don't do anything but steal public resources, why can't you staff Kenyan hospitals with adequate healthcare workers and pay them well, hire engineers and the youth from universities who are jobless, but nah let's create more stupid political posts 😅

  • @catherineg9921

We are tired of this politization and blame games of situations. Why can't you debate how to help those affected by floods rather than talking of who were elected or not. This is not what we need at this time. Even those said to be academically right have been in these governments all through. What have they done.

  • @Jowam-op5rp

What is the legal structure clearly enacted by parliament as the only legal body empowered by the constitution to legistlate and oversight all government departments. So in my opinion parliament is at the centre of all the failures of lack of functioning in all government departments. How I wish our parliament can give us laws to work with in this country and oversight these laws instead of coming to TVs stations every morning to feed us trash and fancy words borrowed from foreign press and leaders. We need to wake up starting with parliament. Most of our politicians are not even fit to manage a restaurant leave alone making important and complex legislations which determines the fate of every citizens. It's so shameful to listen to members of parliament seating on these morning TV interviews every crying helpless as though they are not the actual problem.
