I really enjoyed this this video about Garrett Morris and I'm happy to know that they're making a movie about Garrett Morris life and comedian actor Lemorne Morris is playing him.
Garrett is a very-STRONG-black man,so glad he got that star of hollywood,it's so deserving. Plus,we all know how hollyweird gets down, not surprised about the firing from your hospitol bed and you don't have any friends or support in hollyweird unless you're a-TOP-dog ( highly successful, rich and famous. At the end of theday-HOPEFULLY-you have your wife and immediate family who loves you.
People forget that Damon Wayans was on SNL for 1 year… They got rid of him because he wouldn’t stay on script and would freestyle like he did on In Living Color…
Garrett Morris is a part of Black American History in Comedy. He is a legend and great performer who broke through to the top.He is a great fearless talent and an example of the Founding Fore Fathers Of Black Excellences.Well done,my brother...well done!!!
Idc if this unpopular opinion. The announcer talks way too mucn and shows too many clips at the beginning. This is a microwave society. Get to the point. Talk plain & simple. I want to hear the actors voice or their quotes as proof of what you're saying, if possible
It would have been nice to see Jamie Foxx, the lady that played his wife on the Jamie Foxx show, Garcel and others. Maybe they were busy. This man is a legend. Unless he did some foul stuff to them, it seems really unkind that there was no support from them.
That was pretty cold that he was fired while he was in the hospital recouperating after being shot! I can see why Garrett would have beef with Martin Lawrence.
@evanthomas4468 So true. What is was so shameful is after they fired him they filmed him for his last scene while he was in the hospital recovering to keep the viewers from being suspicious of what was happening behind the scenes.
Stan attributed a lot to the success of Martin. It's very saddening to hear Garrett wasn't treated as such. Martin and Tisha better have damn good excuses for missing his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, they should've been there.
@@GEMof72Martin doesn't owe him the world when he only had a small role in Martin, why y'all don't have that same energy for Jamie Foxx he wasn't present neither
That's fucked up how SNL did him, The way Martin treated him was disappointing too but then again look at Martin's drama with other co stars Tisha Campbell and Carl Payne
When Redd McMasters took over and had Martin singing country and playing it on the station that episode was funny I even remember that song love you from behind 😅😅😅
What do you mean "late"? So eve Martin is still alive at the time of me replying to you. If you are going to "correct" them then you, yourself has to come correctly!
The brace for impact preface almost made me change the video. Just offering feedback, I see the potential of becoming regular fan. The disclaimers and radio voice doesn’t really work with podcast imo. Your journalism is A-1! Again in my humble opinion.
@@lindianfranklin8673 no shit. I never said the subject of this video were either of those women. I mentioned their names because the narrator mentioned everyone but them. So what are you talking about?
Damn...., I would of never thought Martin would do that to another black actor, let alone a legend... Come to think about it, Martin did try to hard R word Gina
I think that her & Martin was fooling around & her boyfriend/husband at the time was getting suspicious so she pulled that. I wouldn’t be giggling with someone if they tried to r me like she is now.
I met Mr. Morrison a very very long time ago when my class took a Trip to The Desire Community Center (Desire Projects)in New Orleans. Then he was an Inspiration and an even Bigger inspiration knowing the path he had to take. ✊🏾🫡
Failed to mention he had a major role in 'Cooley High'
Yes!
Exactly
Classic. It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.
Congratulations Garrett Morris. The first on SNL and still standing Tall.

The Jamie Foxx show
The Walk of Fame doesn’t mean as much these days because some names shouldn’t be on there but Morris definitely deserves it.
The artist pays to get it nowadays so it doesn't mean much. That's why so many actors don't bother with it
People have to nominate him then pay a fee which doesn’t sound fair
Resilience and a passion for you're craft makes for an unstoppable force . Much respect

He had an outstanding career.
Garrett Morris u da man! Thank u for all That u did 2 entertain us

You can do what you wanna do in living color.
Mr. Garrett was a groundbreaker in all aspects of the industry when black folk wasn’t accepted he kept going and had a helluva resume😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
yoooooo, how are you gonna leave out that he had a role in the iconic ‘hood classic ‘cooley high’?????? c’mon now. ur ‘researcher’ is lacking.
Loved his quips and expressions! Congratulations Garret! First on the comedy moon!

Martin Lawrence is all about himself.
Not really because it's plenty of actor's that Martin has really helped so i won't agree with that one
Wrong, Martin has put more put in the position to reach their dream more than any celebrity except maybe the Wayans and Robert Townsend

I was thinking the same thing
You for President 🇺🇲
And when she named the snl cast the wrong clips showed up 😂

I got fired while on six leave too.
@@warrendavis8546 that's cause they told you to take a five minute break but you took a six leave.

My all time favorite movie Cooley High he was a teacher in it that Movie I knew all the characters in that movie
"Heyyyy ..Mr MASON got us out!"
love garrett morriss! truly one of the greats! a pioneer!
I only watched Martin because of Mr. Morris, I love him

Every time you’ve shown a picture of Bill Murray it’s actually a clip of Kevin Nolan😮
How do you forget to mention Chris Rock when mentioning black actors on SNL???
"No one knows what really went on between Garrett and Martin." Soooo, we still don't know the "incident"...
Right. These damn UA-camrs just want to waste our time.
He appeared again on one episode in the following season on Martin where Martin tried to start the meatloaf and waffles restaurant
I would of sued
Thanks for sharing this story!!
You forgot twice about Richard Pryor started and was a writer
Good content, Thank you for telling the truth!
Deserves more recognition & flowers!!
The did the same thing to Chris Farley. RIP
That's my tv unc from when I was a kid in Brooklyn IAm glad u did a joint on mr morris good brother
Its unfortunate what snl did to him; but more unfortunate is that he lacked support of his own people. This issue continues today.
He was “Shorty” in Hunter! Great actor.
Stan wasn’t the only person cast member who got “booted.” What about Shawn?
The actor/ comedian you kept showing when saying John Belushi is actually late comedy legend STEVE MARTIN

I love him. Great actor and smooth.
Dealt with racism. Imagine that
Its wild to me that eddie murphy or martin never hired him for one of their movies... i bet adam sandler is going to hook a brother up.
Also, NOTHING is exposed.
I remember him from the cop show HUNTER in the late 80’s…
I’m sure the whole snl or more than half was on coke and crack
No one from SNL? Wowwwww
DAMN! HE'S STILL ALIVE?.......KOOL👍👍💯
i dont wanna sound crazy but i remember him passing if im not mistaken
Anything Morris appears in becomes better for that .
This is old ass news thumbnail had me thinking it was so weirdo love triangle with Garret Tichina and Martin.
SALUTE KING
This video was a lot of talking about spilling tea but didn't say much of anything.
12:44 who is Taya Arnold? 😂
Who is the dancer at 3:56 ?! She KILLED that
SNL isn't shit now not even funny anymore

Garrett knows did any one ask him and if he didnt say then there a REAL problem and thatz why Martin did NOT show up
i cant believe hes still alive
Legend
What they don't tell you about the Hollywood star yea its about votes that there ppl have to spare head but they pay for the star themselves
You got the original SNL crew wrong at 4:25.
why jamie foxx wasn't there?
Skip to 8:50 if you want the actual info.
He was a freak too
