Hello, I had a total thyroidectomy for papillary thyroid cancer in 1996. (I still have my parathyroid). After which I received radioiodine treatment. To date I have chronic nerve pain, hypoglycemic episodes, leg cramping, problems with temperature extremes, GAD with major depression, chronic fatigue, and I have been on levothyroxine ever since my surgery (dosage has been adjusted numerous times). My metabolism is almost nonexistent- even with dietary changes. Could all of my health problems stem from the thyroidectomy? Thank you for your assistance.

This worries me. as I know someone I love who's about to get their thyroid taken out. Are you feeling any better? This comment was made 2 years ago. I'm just curious how you're doing now.
