🥁Drummer Yoyoka’s Profile🥁
Born in October 2009. She started playing drums at the age of two,appearanced on live at the age of four, and formed the family band "Kaneaiyoyoka" at the age of five. Released 1st CD at 6 years old while in kindergarten.
Not only drums but also songwriting, vocals and piano.
In 2018, she became the weekly champion at the youngest age of 8 in the section under the age of 18 in the global female drummer contest "Hit Like A Girl". An application video that covered Led Zeppelin's "Good Times Bad Times" was featured in NBC, NPR, Rolling Stone magazine and Billboard in the US, and spread all over the world.
Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin, Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sheryl Crow, Gene Simmons and Eric Singer from KISS, Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth, Hayley Williams from Paramore, Sass Jordan, Tony Royster Jr., Rage Against the Machine's drummer Brad Wilk, Jamiroquai's drummer Derrick McKenzie and others have praised her.
At the age of eight, she appearanced in Japan's famous rock festival "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL in EZO"as the youngest ever and made a surprise appearance on the stage of Fall Out Boy in "Summer Sonic Tokyo". Their collaboration heaped up 20,000 audience.
Received an offer from Cyndi Lauper, played two songs as a guest drummer at the performance at Tokyo Orchard Hall on the last day of Cyndi Lauper’s Japan tour.
Also, she has been selected as a commercial for world-class brands such as Nike, Moncler, and UNIQLO. Filming was also done in Thailand and New York, and received a great response from all over the world.
She made two appearances in The Ellen DeGeneres Show in LA in January and May 2019 and was praised by Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters. Also, the first overseas live at the long-established live house "Whisky A Go Go" in Los Angeles was a great success.
In April 2019, she was selected as Newsweek Japan's "100 Japanese people respected by the world", the youngest in history.
At the age of eight, she made endorsement contract with drum makers Pearl and VIC FIRTH,as the world's youngest,and also made endorsement contracts with Zildjian, CYMPAD and DW.
At the Pearl booth of the world's largest musical instrument show "NAMM Show" held in Anaheim in 2020, she performed as the youngest female, only Japanese drummer.
The impact of "Yoyoka" continues to spread to the world.
Her favorite drummers are John Henry Bonham, Chris Coleman, Nate Smith, Chad Smith and David Grohl.
Her dream is to travel around the world and have sessions with people all over the world. Her recently dream is to play at the Tokyo Olympics.

Just pure badassness...with crazy noodle cooking shots lol...Satsuma is an animal on the guitar is one of the best Randy cover guitarists out there...and Yoyoka...what can you say about that hasn't been said about this prodigy? Everybody here understands the intent and feel of this track, which is just as important as the actual performance...i effing love it.

Frankly, it is hard not to be blown away by this performance. Every participant was excellent, from Yoyoka's expertly played intro to her spot-on timing, to Paulie-Z's vocals, to the guitar work of Satsuma3042, to the bass playing of Koichi, everyone was outstanding. Akifumi Soma's filming and video editing are also really excellent. Thank you for breathing life into these classics. Thanks for making music fun again. To quote another musician, 'with a rebel yell he cried more more more more more more more.'
Yeah, but Oz has no vocal range, he's not hard to do as a singer. He gets old fast. This guy was great sounded like a 1970s Ozzy, but still no range. Geoff Tate, John Arch, King Diamond all have range. Ozzy, 1 maybe 2. His stage presence sucks too. His musician's rock harder than him. Yoyoka did awesome as always.
Unfortunately, the intro is NOT correct. The pattern is done on SINGLE kick. There is a foot actuated high hat pattern that Lee Kerslake played on the original.

I was a drum teacher years ago... have been playing now for 50 years. I can tell you that this kid is going to be one of the world's great drummers. She is only ten... imagine how good she will be in just a few years. She has massive power for such a small person. Watch for her... along with a handful of other incredible young female drummers from Japan... Kawaguchi and Sato just to name a couple.
Yeah and she plays with soul and passion, not robotic. I look forward to her evolution as a drummer and the music she creates.
I saw her play recently and yeah, she's well on her way to being one of the greats. Amazing when you consider she's now about the age that Neil Peart started playing.

Christ, everyone here did such an amazing job, took me a moment to get used to Paulie-Z because I had never heard him, but his delivery was smooth. Yoyoka was the star of the show, her intro was spot on, powerful and captured what made the original Ozzy version so magical. Great guitar work, bass was on point. Best cover of this song I have heard to date.

I have seen this song covered many times. This is the best version by far. Yoyoka is in full beast mode as usual. Guitar solo played with a spatula shaped like a guitar had me yelling "Hell yeah!" I hope to see more collabs from these 4 world class musicians.

Killer drum performance. Yoyoka never disappoints and many of these songs are songs that I know inside and out from listening and/or playing for decades. She is so spot on and plays with force and confidence, but also joy and youthful enthusiasm. The 10 year old girl in this bunch of men probably nailed her part the closest.
She also pre-recorded her part, playing along to the original backing track.....way easier to stay in the pocket....and her dad doesn't post an upload until it's perfect.

Carla Lopez I showed a ton of respect. I COMPLIMENTED her playing. She’s not the worlds greatest drummer. So yes, she’s fucking amazing for her age. She’s a kid. It’s extremely unusual for kids to be this incredible at something like this. Being a kid is one of the qualities that makes her amazing and why any of us even care to subscribe. How many of us are subscribed to some random 40 year olds drumming channel?!
I like the snare drum sound, this high lingering after sound is very good, and better than in the original production. This is a new level Yoyoka, she was already very good, for years. But this is so solid, she crossed clearly a line.
Her body language changed too, playing time is over, she is in for doing serious business.
