English Translations here! 😊 Please bear with my poor translations🙏 hope it helps. Its a bit long so I have to split into two parts Part 1: (Are you satisfied with your battle's perfomance?) I think the time is too short. The time to practice and prepare was a bit short so I felt it's a pity. But after watching the show, I feel that the atmosphere is still quite good. Overall, I'm still satisfied with it. Yes, if there's more time I think I can do it better. (All street dance steps are learnt during the 14 days of your quarantine?) Including the opening dance and micro movie. There was a part where everyone came from different locations to the Shanghai central area for the show opening. The dance was also practised during the 14 days. I have also learnt new street dance genres during that period like Locking. The understanding of street dance genres came during that period where I watched video clips and all sort of dances around the world, as well as the contestants' videos. It could be their online profiles or their perfomance clips during the audition. I've watched a lot. (For your first battle, did you choreograph and improvise yourself?) There's actually no beforehand preparation for battle as it was too sudden. I can only say, I make used of some of the time during the quarantine period and during filming to learnt certain dance genres, mainly still Locking as I danced Locking for my captain show. From this foundation, you slowly expand. For instance, when you saw others dancing a different genre you can learnt bit by bit and then, the battle came. (What gone through your mind during the battle?) Wah, I was actually slightly in a confused state at that moment. I think I could only listen to the music. The people infront my vision are getting blurred as well. I just listen to the music and see how can I put my limited street dancing skills into the music. Then, just go ahead! The main purpose was to get towel for my team's dancers. So, my only thought was to give my fullest and must fight for one more towel. Other than that, everything is quite blurred to me. I wasn't that awake that time. (p.s. the cypher battle was only carried out after the midnight, after their continuous day and night shootings and it was his first time solo freestyle battle. He only self-learnt street dance for 2 weeks at that time.) (When was the last time you felt giving your fullest?) Although it's a game, I did try my best so I wont have regrets. But, this is different because in my past experiences or during my past few years I have lesser on this. As compared, I have lesser experience in this field so there are more uncertainties. For my dancers and for the towel I have to do my utmost. (Did you find back your feeling for dancing after joining SDC3?) Yes, yes, yes, yes. This really brought me back to my teenagehood. Everyday I wake up to work, it's dancing. One day three sessions and it's already night time when you end work. Staying together with your friends/classmates. Sweat during classes, eat together after that and practices, if the practices went well we will be very happy as well. Waoh, just brought me back. I have never thought I can have that feeling again. It feels a bit like the time got reset. Eventhough I look different now, my physical condition is different also but the feeling is very familiar. Others watching me now will ask if Im tired, but there's a 'familiar' passion in me. Of course I will feel tired, yet watching them never stopping, the dancers keep on practicing for their dreams and for better works. I am inside with them so I feel it's really beautiful. This experience has brought me back. (Street dance is not considered as your familiar type of dances. Do you feel that it is your obstacle during competition?) Yes a bit. It's my weakness as my foundation for street dance is lesser. Techniques as well, need more time to learn and practice. It is indeed my weakness, but I also have my strength which I don't set boundaries for myself. I am willing to accept all dance genres in my body. Even for those that are not teaching me, when I watch them dancing I'm in a assimilating condition. During this period, I am open for everything and keep on absorbing. Just that I need more time to improve myself on my street dance performance. (You asked Lin Meng (a Popper in Wallace's team) how can you make yourself better as you aged. What is your own answer?) I think that age shouldn't be a reason for stopping you. The inevitable point should not be an excuse for you to stop improving yourself. There should be growth in every age. I am touched when I saw Lin Meng during the audition as I watched the previous seasons, he came before and fight before. This time round I feel suprised because everytime you see him, he still continues improving. It's hard to come by. This is why I asked him. (What is the existence of "time"(years/age) to you?) Is to do what you like, regardless of age, regardless of wherther you can do it at this age. Just try it. I feel that aging is not a complete bad thing because it's like you keep on adding more stuff into it. As you grow older, you will have more things inside, like you gather and settle down the things you learnt or absorbed. This is best part I think, as people with younger age probably hold lesser than the elder one, like me. (How do you manage your body to keep yourself vigorous?) I just tried not to be lazy for exercises. Exercising is the best way to maintain as sweating helps to boost metabolism. Sleeping condition as well, a regular pattern of sleep probably helps to make you feel more vital. (After the SDC3 aired, some audiences are shocked that you know how to dance. What do you want to say to them?) Nice to meet you! Its our first meeting, thank you for taking care of me😊 (p.s. there is no direct translate for this saying so Im just give the rough meaning.) For those that do not know me well, so I hope there can be more advise. For those that already know me well, they will know that I have learnt dancing last time just that it's been a long time that i have not trained in a serious manner. I started dancing again recently. Hope I can learn more during this period and practice more so to leave more good stage works. For those that are unfamiliar with you to see your works and understand you better.
Part 2: (Will you feel stress with so many good dancers?) Seeing so many good dancers, you will actually admire them. As being a good dancer used to my dream last time, and I did step up to that path just that I did not complete that journey before I changed to be an actor or singer. So, my dream is not reached yet. When watching all those good dancers, it feels like they are doing a thing that you couldnt complete it. All the dancers, especially the good dancers are immortal to me. So, I do admire them. Through some interactions over the time, you can also learnt things from them. (Why did you give up on dancing last time?) I chose this path because I like dancing and I danced under the TVB for less than a year and I am switched to the acting department also under the TVB. What the agreement was if one day I do not like to act anymore I can still go back for dancing. I thought it's okay as actor and dancer are similar in a way that dancer used body language together with music to express certain emotions, for the audiences to feel involved spiritually. It's similar to acting. I didnt mean to give up on dancing, I just feel that I can develop myself in a well-rounded way. (You have a battle with Captain Lay Zhang, what kind of dancer do you think he is?) He is good as he has learnt a various kind of dance genres and he learnt since young. He continues to practice so, he is really good at different dances or street dance. I feel that he is charming when he is dancing. I wasnt afraid during the battle because it was a 3 vs 3 battle. I feel that it's more like a team competition so I just give my best. ( p.s. this was Wallace's first rountine battle) (What was your mode during the《Sailor Moon》performance?) I have a deeper impression on this song as well because you need to totally change yourself. The song is more suitable for Waacking and we planned more ACGN(Anime/Comic/Game/Novel) elements inside to match the songs. In this case, you have to make yourself suits the theme or more like the Waacking feels. So I imagined myself as another character, like acting but changed to dancing. I felt it's still okay. The feeling won. (Are you a person that has a strong desire to win?) When you are on stage, the battle mode has to be stronger. For the sake of your team and dancers to stay longer, there will be a desire to win. (During battle, will contestants help to think of creativity?) Yes, I did ask some dancers for moves. But they gave you doesnt mean you can use them as it depends on situation, you have to listen to see if the music matched and make your own judgement in a very short time. Remembering one move will not assure your performance. It's not that easy. (What street dance genres do you like?) I like Old School. As compared, Old School, New School and Urban. I prefer Old School because I think it has more "taste". Probably also because I have grown up in that generation so I have been influenced by this and have more feeling for it. (Seems like you performed more on Locking, why do you choose on this?) As I have only learnt Locking 😂 I will definitely learn other dance genres when I have time. Please continue watching, I have also other dance performance. Hope everyone will look forward to it and hope that it can give everyone a surprise. (Do you have an urge to learn from a master or privately learn by exchanging experiences and ideas? First of all, I have to thanks Ye Yin and Ye Zheng as for the opening dance they sent some videos for me to practice myself and let me knew certain skills for Locking during the quarantine period. It was not easy because it was not a face to face or through any live streaming. They had to film video clips. So I found it a rare opportunity, wish that there can be collaborations in the future with all these good dancers. (What do you think street dance spirit stand for in life?) I think this is worth thinking, for the memory of life. Street dancing, other than making a stage on fire and hot-blooded. More of it is to show the spirit of street dance to everyone, like me to have courage to challenge yourself, motivate and have respect for one another. Everyone coming together for a good dance work, working hard together. This shows very much on the "Love and Peace". Let everyone has the positive motivation which will bring us more passion and enthusiasm in our living. (Then what is the spirit of Wallace Chung?) Persistence and ardent love. ❤(The End)
