Bonfire is sumptuous, a masterpiece of writing and storytelling. It's peak Tom Wolfe, our white-suited literary wonder.

    Great video!
20:11 How about another Q&A session?
Maybe even Q&As about a specific topic or author.
Do you currently write on something and maybe you want to share your process/topics/philosophy.
    Cheers!

If you enjoyed “The Way We Live Now” by Trollope you will likely enjoy “Bonfire of the Vanities”. In it Tom Wolfe takes his turn as the tongue-in-cheek observer of the society around him. It’s set in 1980’s New York and the book truly became the talk of the town. Those of us who read it would compare notes trying to identify real life personalities that inspired Wolfe’s characters. On the trains you would see loads of folks reading it. (With the arrival of smart phones and kindles observing reading choices of fellow passengers has been significantly curtailed.)
Now as I think more about it, I wouldn’t be one bit surprised if Wolfe had actually used Trollope’s novel to plot his own.
(The movie was a disaster. Totally miscast and Wolfe’s sterling satire was blunted so as not to aggrieve real life objects of same. )

Oh you'll come up with content. You can do a two hour video and still not run out of words 😂. You need only turn on the camera and the content will appear.

I recently purchased a biography on Tolstoy by henri troyat. I have. Even searching for a biography on dickens. Rasputin just looks scary. I have a couple books on him but haven’t read them. I have quite a few on the Nicholas and Alexandra. I’ve been on the search for Napoleon by Andrew Roberts.

I hope you meant "eschatological end" and not "scatological end" 🙂

I hoped I'd squeezed an 'e' in there. My channel's very much opposed to slop and slime 🤣
