- Опубліковано 30 тра 2024
- In this photography vlog I'm going to give you tips for photographing runners in a forest. I will do a comparison between entry level equipment (Canon T7i with the 18-55mm kit lens, the nifty fifty (50mm f/1.8 STM), and the Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8)) and more advanced equipment - like the Sony a7III with the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 Art and the 24mm f/1.4 Art. And I will also show you how to avoid high ISO noise.

I haven't seen a more detailed vlog, ever before.
😂 thanks, I hope it wasn't too detailed. Maybe it isn't even a vlog 😂
@@wolfamri it was very informative though.
I like the "Boom" when you showed the 85mm shot haha 😄
😂😂 that surprised even me.
Watching your videos while having a sun bath at the sea! Great video Wolfgang!
Thank you 🤗🤗. I'm a bit jealous now. It's constantly below average temperatures here for more than two months. I'll come over, travel bans ave been lifted, and we have a roof tent on our van anyway 😂😂.
@@wolfamri
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Well come over to Italy then, wait another month and you'll fry under the sun here because it will get even much hotter. I can't stand it, and escape to the mountain at a maximum of 25 degrees at most in August!
😂 the grass is always greener on the other side. I just watched Giro d'Italia yesterday - you just like us still have snow in the mountains 😂.
@@wolfamri
Depending on the zone! If you come to the south (e place visited by tons of Germans and German-speaking countries), you will literally fry! It can reach as high as 45! I once had a vacation there in August, and when I came back to Rome, peopled didn't recognize me! I was literally like a black African!
@@Ihab.A Oh, thanks - 45, nope 🤣
Goodness gracious you are a gem!!! Thank you!
Thank YOU 🤗😉
He is just awesome, I am one of his greatest fan,he is my inspiration. I was out of touch with your videos as my mom passed away. But anyways again I am back ... Thank you for your works.. Love your work💖💖
My sincere condolences, Abhik! But thank you for those nice words. Great to have you back 😉.
Deepest Condolences
Great video! I love walking in forests, but I haven't tried taking photo in it yet. Waiting for the Spring so I could use your tips. I wish I knew your channel earlier!
Thank you! Let’s hope for a great spring 😉. Most important imo is the timing. It’s only a few days/weeks when the leaves are fresh green.
I have to say you are my idol
So... UA-cams algorithm finally suggested your channel. I've been binging on them, but noticed that it's been 5 months since your last post. Hope to see more. In any event, you've got a new subscriber.
Thanks, Leon. Much appreciated feedback. I’ve been working a lot in the background. New website coming, new course videos. Thanks a lot for your subscription 🙏😉
Wow!That's a pretty useful video Wolf Amri 👌
It's not only helps to get good running photos but also helps to understand the difference a good gear makes in a challenging situation.Thank you 😊
Thanks, Kesava. That was my plan. 🙏🙏
These are pretty amazing tips. Love how thorough you are!
Glad you like them, Kori! Thanks for commenting!
Im learing soooo much, thank you.
Great to hear that, Mathias. thank you for your feedback! 🙏
all is obvious for me but still it is very nice and useful for me. Tnx
Thanks for your feedback, Anton. Much appreciated! 😉
Great video, i have to try this with my fuji xt-4 if i can achieve the same result as the Sony.
Great, Alan. Let me know how it works out for you. It’s a lot about the lens too.
Petition for more such real life scenario videos or vlogs in future 😁😁
Tremendously valuable tips, thank you for the video 👍
😂 thank you, Yatish! Petition noted 😉
It's been long time since you uploaded this video.Where are you?Love your classes.Hope a new one will be uploaded soon❤️.Hope you doing well
Thanks, Kesava 🙏🤗🙏! I’m fine. I’m working on a few different videos and two websites. I decided it would be better to take a short break to concentrate on that.
@@wolfamri 🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍
Great video, useful info, like to have seen the difference of the art lens on beginner's camera
Many thanks
John
Thanks, John! Me too, but unfortunately, the version I have doesn’t have the same mount.
Hi Wolf, this is Alex Byfield. You know, the one who argues on PBG?
As you know, I do nature photography pretty much exclusively, but have just ordered a Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM. I'm no fan of people photography, and this lens is praised much for portrait use. But, I thought it would make a great addition to my kit, for larger flowers. Also, if I ever wanted to start getting paid for portrait photography, at least I have an extraordinarily useable lens. :D
When I get lens, I may try posting on PBG just to show how it is for flowers, since it took me a lot of searching to find sample photos for flowers with that lens.
As you know, I agree with your views on kit. You can take photos that are great in some people's opinions with poor quality setup, but getting high quality shots does require high quality gear, with the skill and knowledge of course. However, I do try and explain to people that not all high quality gear costs thousands. High quality does cost more, but usually the other huge chunk in the price difference is aperture (especially fixed widest aperture zoom lenses), and zoom capability.
Focal length does not seem to be as significant (except focal length range). Just look at the huge price difference between the Canon 50mm f/1.8 STM and their 50mm f/1.2 L USM. £125 vs £1,500. Although the latter is professional grade, I have no doubt that aperture is the leading reason as to why it's so much higher.
I would love to see you do more of this kind of video.
Still waiting for that 'Loo running' episode. :P
Hey Alex, oh yes, the loo running episode is still missing 😂😂😂. Thanks, I have actually planned a 50mm comparison but then time got into the way 🤦♂️😬. What you often pay for is sharpness wide open. E.g. the Sigma Art series, they are almost as sharp wide open as they are stopped down. The 50mm f/1.8 from Canon is OK wide open, but still a lot better stopped down.
I personally like the primes for the shallow depth. You‘ll love the 50 f/1.4 for those flower shots. I forgot which cam you are using. If it’s a full frame, I would personally consider an 85mm lens for portraits. But for flowers, I‘d probably go with the 50 because it shows more from the background 😉.
@@wolfamri it's the 50mm f/1.2 L USM, can't wait to get it. 😀
I‘m sure you’ll love it and look forward to seeing those flower images 😉👍
@@wolfamri I ordered it from WexPhotoVideo yesterday morning, it's already here. Managed to get some photos before the sun disappeared.
The Canon 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM is recommended for flowers by some, and I have it.
My only issue is, it's too narrow an FOV for composition (in my opinion) on larger flowers, or groups of smaller ones.
The Macro lens excellent for close-ups of small ones, like Violet. And of course, extreme close-ups of more specific areas of larger flowers and plants.
The f/1.2 aperture is an interesting part, I don't think I've touched an f/1.2 lens before.
I love the macro mainly for insects, and when shooting flowers from a low perspective, similar to what you just posted in the facebook group 👍
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO IM GOING TO SHOW THIS TO MY "FRIEND" THT SAY *STOP BLAMING UR LENS U JUST HV TO LEARN MORE*
Srsly my friend alwys compare my portrait photography with other photographer while im just doing my best with 55MM F5.6 ;_;
It’ is what it is, too many photographers think they are the best artist since Leonardo Da Vinci and they are the sole reason for their images. The truth is quite a bit different 😉.
I would be very interested in a video about panning shots
Thanks, Dave! Noted ;)
Short legs long back. You must have some good Celtic genes somewhere in the family history.
Always informative and thought provoking. How about a vlog on the sharpest lenses at the narrowest aperture (F22), I've never seen anyone do it that way around.
😂 I didn't even know that Celtics had that. Now I'm getting some Celtic clothing and instruments 😂.
Interesting idea regarding the f/22. I need to do some googling for MFT-Charts.
@@wolfamri There's also the Celtic foot, which is proportionately shorter and broader, and the propensity for round rather than long faces. We are of course all a mixture of migrating peoples and I think the Celts were probably the most genetically mixed of all the 'Ancient' races. Genetics is a minefield of trying not to drift into eugenics. I'm very pleased to be the result of a million years of trial by error relationships 😉
Iain Mc I must be a very weird mix. My feet are rather long 😂. I should have been swimming or downhill skiing rather than running.
Are you ok, I'm getting worried. You haven't uploaded anything in 3 months. I love your video and style.
Aawwww, thank you 🤗. I’m currently working on a website to shuffle people over to youtube. Posting once every week is something I thought is reducing quality in time. I had to concentrate on creating any content rather than creating real value. But I’ll be back soon. Thanks for worrying and reaching out 🙏🙏🙏
Still waiting, lol
hope you're doing good
So sorry. I’m just too busy at the moment. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
what camera u shoot for making video? any tutorial for video making like this? because your video is so stunning
Thank you 🙏. I’m afraid I have no tutorials for video. I used the Sony a7III so far 😉.
Great Video again. Stopped running a couple years ago... therefore I gained 20 pounds...:D "live view... ->We need to shoot from a higher perspective" Why not just dump yourself in the dirt for a lower/better perspective?;)
😂 Thanks, Jens. That might be an idea for youtube shorts 😂. Including face camouflage.
Poor Birgit. Married to a professional photographer and still has to run 6347 km just to get one nice image 😂
It’s amazing. I can like my own comments haha
😂😂😂😂 Keeps her fit. You deserve your own likes, Dad 😂
Missing your videos. Are you taking a break right now?
Thanks so much, Alex. Yes and no. I'm currently working on two websites and a new course. Unfortunately not many people find their way to my videos and I was also asked to make something written rather than video, so here we go. I'll be back soon - thanks for asking, really appreciated!
@@wolfamri that’s a shame as, due to free-time constraints, I’ve limited the photog channels I’ve subscribed to from about 20 down to 5 now and your’s is one of the best.
Your’s is definitely the most educational and your style keeps the content interesting. Looking forward to you publishing the new content.
When u said gear and photographer skill both matter, I knew some photographers arent telling the full truth.
Photography is about light (physics), there are ways to workaround certain limitations, but having gears indeed does help.
AM I going to blow cash on full frame? No! Sport photography does demand higher spec gear, but for other types of shoots, grab some manual lens, shoot in manual, save a few buck, train up my skill and still get okay ish photo.
Absolutely. Both matters and for many types of photography, it doesn’t require the best gear.
You can take amazing images with literally any camera, including a tincan. But your gear dictates /what/ amazing images you can do. For some subjects you really do need a 1D and a $15000-tele...
The key to get nice gear as an amateur is to have an eye on the second hand market. It's still expensive, but it's just an arm now. Pro equipment that's a few generations old usually still beats today's consumer stuff hands down, for a comparable price. I got my first full frame for about $500-$600, a few years old D700. Loved it!
True. Unfortunately the used market changes too. Lots of scam, which is why companies like mpb are on the rise. They give a lot of safety, but you can hardly get real bargains.
I totally agree on your other comment. If you want to get a good shot of the moon, basically all you need is reach (which can be had rather cheap). If you want to do sports, flying birds, etc. you need speed (focus and fps) or you get lots of crap, no matter your skills.
I can't find your free course ...
S9 can you comnt your course link
Hi Vinod! With pleasure ;) ua-cam.com/video/dwrGAoZIrOw/v-deo.html
@@wolfamri thank you so much for reply me but i complete this series already.
I want your certificate course.
Oh. Sorry, Vinod. That is still under construction.
@@wolfamri Ok
Everything okay? You haven't uploaded in a while.
Thanks so much for asking, that means a lot. I’m working on two websites (one for the course, because I think youtube doesn’t really show my content in searches, that’s why I try to help that a bit) and the other one to get the exposure triangle out of peoples minds 😉 and I’m also working on a new course. I felt that the constant pressure of uploading new videos doesn’t help creating the content I like to create, so I decided to go for quality instead - at least I hope so 😂
@@wolfamri Relieved to know you're alright :)
is your wife german?
We‘re both Austrians 😉
