Great job, I would like to know how to use satellite images by MicMac GUI? I tried but could not read the images correctly. How to set up Camera Database for satellite imagery?
The GUI was only designed for simpler datasets using rgb color jpeg images. It won't work with black and white jpegs of tif format images. To process satellite images you will have to use bare bones MicMac and type commands into a terminal. On my website I have link to a more advanced GUI create by someone else along with some translated documentation. It's called AperoDeDenis. It may be a better option than typing micmac commands. clintons3d.com/plugins/other/micmacgui/index.html see near the bottom of the page.
MicMac is very picky about the images you feed it, so they must be high quality and well distributed in space. If there are any bad images in your data don't use them. First from the Start be sure that the camera used for the images is in the database or has a 35mm equivalent defined. In the Tapioca step you can try running Schnaps to cleanup the tie points before trying Tapas again. Another thing you can try is not using all the images, it may be that some of them are preventing a successful run. You can get a more complete error message by copying the text found above the Run button, drag it fully open to get the full text, go back to the Start section, press the Terminal button and paste the text in the terminal to run it. Here, micmac.ensg.eu/index.php/Forum you can find links to the micmac forum and reddit where you can share the full error message or you can google search "tapas error" and include your error. This GUI makes it easier to run the Micmac command, but underneath it is still difficult to use when things go wrong.
Great tutorial! Now, when I`m trying the processing with more details, i`m stucking in Tapas. I noticed that now all my photos received a red tag. What does the color tags means? What the diference between the red, blue, green and black?
Colors indicate the error in the calculations. Green is good, Blue is OK and Red is bad though it's still possible to get a solution with some Red images. This vid only covers the simplest most basic case. For most image sets you will want to do a 2 step Tapas run. Excellent video! I'm having a problem with the MicMac GUI, whenever I add the photo files the software stops responding. Does anyone have any solution?
@@clintonreese9081 I have 49 images, in .jpg format, each image have 4MB. the first time I tested the software it worked. now i can't do anything. I already uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Still not working.
@@antoniocosta80 I've done more and bigger images so that's not it. Try the File Browser button to be sure that the Clear Files button works. Maybe it doesn't like the photo names. Are they straight from the camera or have they been renamed? You can also try pressing the Alt key to open the menu, choose View > Toggle Developer Tools and when you copy the images see if any errors show in the console.

Could you make a tutorial on how to do the last two steps in MeshLab?
I'll see what I can do. Maybe this weekend.
New vid is up. ua-cam.com/video/y_3mdQT_VCo/v-deo.html

Maybe MicMac GUI has some limitation. How big are the images and how many? Also note that it only works with jpg images.
