Love you guys so much. I wish I was in the room with you guys when talking about this particular conversation. Points I want to say 1) edm is similar to death core from the bpm but with a different sound (stay away from house) 2) I think BMTH is great but they changed A LOT 3) the bassist for white chapel lived 10-15 min from me 4) Lindsey sterling does fiddlecore(maybe more Violincore)
Topics for next podcast: 1. Was there ever a moment in a video game/movie that genuinely made you cry or feel depressed? 2. If you could have any Pokemon in real life, which one would it be and why?
To answer Blarg's question at 30:10, yes, drum tracks are typically heavily processed. Snares are heavily compressed, kick drums are EQ'd significantly. However, most drum tracks in studio recordings now are triggered samples.
This is probably my favourite ep of the podcasts, i love how they talk about deathcore a music genre i listen to alot and I’m a big fan of it, I personally am trying to learn vocals such as false chord and vocal fry i loved listening to what bands they know and Soup helped me find a new band that I’m obsessed with “Hail The Yeti” so if you guys see this thank you! Can’t wait to see where your band goes McNasty ☺️🤘 Was amazed that Blarg knows Sleep Token i love them 😀
On the sleep thing, I asked my doctor this: your aware you need to be up for X event, and therefore your brain is too. You set an alarm, but your body is independent of that alarm. Your body only knows "I need to be up for this event". Now sometimes your brain creates a second event at that alarm time because you consciously put an importance on that time (lets say 8:30), so your brain goes "I need to wake up at an event at 8:30 (that event being your alarm, but your brain just thinks OOH BIG EVENT)" and when your internal clock says 8:30 it wakes up. Most of the time its never exact and you wake up at 8:25, or you would've woken up at 8:35 if your alarm didn't go off. etc. Hope that makes sense.
To further on McNasty's lil talk about why we get that random falling feeling while we sometimes try to sleep; another reason behind that happening is quite literally the body giving you a sudden shot of adrenaline because the sudden slip into a sleeping state can be mistaken by the body as you basically dying so it makes you "fall" as a safe guard to make sure you're okay.
