I felt like judge meadows wanted the option to escape outside to avoid the wrath of the angry mob, sorta go out on her own terms.

That makes sense, especially after giving all the residents credits... End on a high - although I'm not convinced Bernard will let her leave

i remember the water was somewhat contained with chemicals to make people forget things. Maybe that's what being used to keep people focusing inside not the outside world

Oh yeah, I'm sure I remember someone mentioning that but it was a crazy conspiracy in the show. Could it be real?

@@Q-DadsIt was that old fertility lady Gloria who was kept drugged in the hospital. She was the last Flamekeeper and told Allison that there's something in the water to make people forget the past. I agree with your remark about the fixation on water.

I’m not going to make predictions here because I’ve read the books, but I do want to repeat something Hugh Howey said about how the mines work in the TV show, in response to people wondering where they could possibly be since there’s the big machine below the silo and other silos all around it. He said the mines go downward from the silo but in a corkscrew pattern around the outside, so they miss the huge area with the machine and the tunnel and the door.
Also, people do come back from the mines. Bernard sentenced Lucas to the mines for 10 years, not for life.
As you mentioned at the end of the video, the reason for the episode release date being earlier is American Thanksgiving. In the UK time zone the episodes come out early Friday morning, and Friday is the day Apple advertises them as coming out, but in the US it’s actually Thursday night when they come out, 9 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. Pacific. As always, Thanksgiving is on a Thursday, meaning the episode would have initially dropped Thanksgiving night in the US, so obviously they chose another day to increase the number of people in the US who would be able to see it right away.

      Thanks for not spoiling 👍🏻
Great point around the mines and how they work as that nicely explains why they don't bump into other silos or the machinery!
Good point about the time difference over here!

They’ll drop it a day early so they can go home for Thanksgiving ✌️

There is much more in that vault besides The Order and the communication screen because you can see drawers everywhere

Good catch on the water. It's almost as if you read the books ;)

My biggest questions im hoping to get answers for are:
    Why cant they use magnifier’s?
Why cant they use automated machines to climb the silo like pulleys or elevators?
Whats in the vault that Bernard and the solo resident of silo 17 have access to?
Why does judge Meadows want to go out?
My theory is that most of this comes down to controlling information. If they cant automate moving up and down the silo then it takes much longer for information or ideas to spread across the silo. I also believe judicial limits what the residents are told so they believe narratives that benefit the upper class. And lastly I think that contraception control is done to breed out undesirables or in other words only allows “followers” to live in the silo. It all comes back to controlling information which begs a bigger question, what information are the “leaders” scared people will find out?

maybe that the earth is going to be toxic forever? maybe they lose faith and lose interest in surviving

    • @Q-Dads
      @Q-Dads  Місяць тому +1

That all stems around 'the truth' the information about what caused the outside to be toxic and also the fact other silos exist!
Zoom in too much and you will uncover the truth and advance, something they did want. The founders want them to remain with the tech they have...

@Q-Dads what caused the toilet air outside? Nuclear war? Also, silos exist but I don't see how that's something to hide. I would simply let people know yes, there are in fact other silos. Oh well.

@@saudielbamber4227Because humans are curious. If they knew other silos exist it increases the likelihood of people trying to find out which increases the likelihood of rebellions.
