    The name COOP comes from Konsumentkooperationen (consumer cooperative).
    So Co-op may not be that far off anyway. ;-)
    And that it is not cents, it is Öre in Sweden.

    • @ZapAndersson
      @ZapAndersson 2 роки тому

      Yeah it SHOULD be pronounced co-op.. It makes sense. But it's not, for unknown reasons.

      Not "food" as such. It's to spread on bread, for breakfast for example.

      Yeah :) Just have to say that food in a tube it's a part of the Swedes daily diet. Well except from Kalles Kaviar :P

    is there any discount coupon you can find in magazine or at the entrance of the shopping mall or anything ?
    and is there any stuff like manager's pick discount regularly like in the US ?

    • @dennisbohman3848
      @dennisbohman3848 3 роки тому +2

      Yes, we have, but far from the US system. You can usually only use one coupon at a time and are limited to 1 or 2 items per purchase. The coupons cannot be combined with other offers.

    • @ElectariumTunic
      @ElectariumTunic 2 роки тому +2

      Coupons are uncommon in many grocery chains, just 1-2 coupons per week and chain, and mostly for diapers and other odd products.
      Most discounts are instead done via the free loyalty programs, which often are attached to your bank card so they register automatically every time you shop (You may require a Swedish Personal ID Number to register though)

    I see comments about ören. Flexible Swedes say cents when communicating with foreigners. Main thing is to make sure people understand what you are saying. For the same reason one would say crowns and not kronor.

    Did you know that both ICA and Willys have the same owner, Axfood. They have a few more sister companies and had a turnover of about $ 5,8 billion in 2021

    In DK you dont even have to go to the shop,groceries can be ordered on net and delivered to your doorstep.

    • @zirn
      @zirn 3 роки тому +4

      Same in Sweden. Not all stores but a lot of them. Theres usually a delivery fee though. Or you can order it online and then go pick it up from boxes that are refrigerated with a code for no extra charge.

    • @Mycenaea
      @Mycenaea 2 роки тому

      Can do this in Sweden aswell, but it cost a lot to get it delivered.

      I know people who do all their big shopping via webstores. And only do small purchases in physical stores. If you are going to buy one or two shopping carts of food/essentials, I would say it is worth to pay extra(web stores more expensive). Plus the shipping fee.
