Great Video!!! I moved into the UK from Sri Lanka under the Highly Skilled Migration Program in 2008 so, based on my experience I can say that most of the points mentioned in this video are absolutely bang on... Came here without any job offer/sponsor, found a job based on my degree and work experience and also managed to complete my MBA at Warwick University studying part-time while working full-time. Now happily raising a family of 3 kids 😍😍😍. There is no such place called "the perfect country" but, the UK is as good as it can get!

I have been in the USA for 6 months and I have a dependent visa. The process to be able to work here is at least 2 and a half years, but due to the lottery system, it can be longer. I feel very depressed about having to wait and I don't feel safe living here. Before, I lived in Mexico and surprisingly, I feel similar about the security there. I am evaluating other options for emigrating and the UK is winning in my options. Thank you.

As an American living in USA I understand that your side . I have my own reasons for USA . I am Mexican . My home is near , cheaper housing in USA than UK, cheaper land , USA tax is lower in some states , but compare to Europe like USA, houses are cheaper, cars are cheaper .

USA is not cheaper for housing anymore, I moved to the uk from Singapore, but I’m from the USA, California and housing is far more expensive there than Surrey where I now live in the uk. Tax in the USA is almost the same as here but you have to pay for your healthcare there. I actually save far more money in the uk than I ever did in the usa.

I'm British born live in the UK now. I went to university in the US and lived there 8 years. I can say this. USA is an amazing country filled with opportunities if you organize well in advance and have the right immigration status. As a dependent you have options to be enrolled as a student and the you have rights to work and graduate towards permanent residency and citizenship. The UK is closer to Africa and India yes. Immigration is easier yes. The pound is stronger yes but salaries are less than half those of tne US workers in similar job categories. The cost of living in UK is very high, the quality and availability of healthcare is lower overall in the UK now with nurses doctors on strike often. The free NHS is in shambles with appointments backlog for years. Many have gotten worse and died before seeing an NHS doctor. As for directness yes US people are direct and open. The UK culture is polite and outwardly softer but they practice covert racism and discrimination and usually do not say what's on their minds openly. USA houses are bigger and the climate more variable. The only part I agree with you is security as the gun culture is scary and out of control there. Still the US is a great country with many more opportunities than the UK.

    Great video 👍.
Also, work culture in US much different and it’s comparatively harder to cope with for many people:
    1. Caste system in work culture: you probably have heard of Manikhandan Ramasamy and Rajagopalan cases. It’s just horrible to think of a work environment with backdated caste based system 😔
    2. Racism: racism is also prevailing in work culture as well as in society as a whole.
    3. High work place politics: rarely any workplace where people can concentrate purely in work without hassles of team politics
Apart from that, people moved to US after 2008 have no surety till when visa would be valid.

In my opinion, Sweden Denmark and Switzerland is better for standard of living whereas Germany is richer but the people have a less standard of living (not by far) . Ireland is really similar to the UK (as much as we would both deny it) but the cost of living in Ireland is 20% more expensive when the average Irish person earns pretty much the exact same, give or take £500 a year.

    Hello Ma’am ,
    Hope you are doing well.
I have been following your channel for past couple of months and some of the information has been really helpful.
I will be coming to UK this September. Me and my friends had a few questions and didn’t know whom to ask.
We will have to complete a 10 days quarantine in London and then move to Sheffield.
We were looking for options to travel from London to Sheffield via Train/Coach. But we don’t know exactly which is better. Trains are a bit costly, coach(bus) is a cheap option, but, no clear information on how much luggage do they allow for one person.
There are many service providers for coach/train like RailEurope,EMR, NationalExpress,FirstBus,etc,
but if possible could you provide information regarding this? Like what is best option for students, costs, how much luggage is allowed, what precautions to take, what are ways to book? It will be really helpful.

Hello Knowledge Buddy, I work for a MNC and my L1B has been initiated for USA at the same time I also have the opportunity to apply for UK as my client is ready for anyone of them. We are a family of 3 members, Me, my wife and a kid of 11 years.
My wife is a Physical therapist, considering the above points what would your suggestion USA or UK? Dependent can still work in the both the places considering the visa.
I am looking to settle abroad. Please suggest whose process would be easy and from a Quality life perspective.
I would love to connect with you over a chat as well if you can spare some time please.

if you're not in a managerial role or something your american green card will take forever to process. if you solely want to settle abroad then UK by all means, 100x easier than usa. but career prospects wise, USA any day. if your company finds a way to get you an extraordinary ability green card under a couple of years, id say go for USA but the probability of that happening depends. the british economy is projected to have a great downfall in the next fiscal year so keep that in mind.

Mam please reply my comment. I from your neighbour country Bangladesh. Currently I am willing to go UK by tier 2 work permit visa. Please let me know that if I go there by this type of visa, is it possible to tarvel to my back home country at least once within 5 years period I mean before applying for ILR. Moreover, if somehow I visit my country, therefore, I also want to know that whether it will impact me on getting ILR or not?
