I play HLL and Squad and enjoy them both. Definitely right that HLL is more accessible and that's the game that's finally got some of my friends into tactical shooters; its more straight forward and new player friendly. The only issue I'd say with this is it is attracting a lot of people who're previously into COD and BFV and still have that arcade 'mindset' which can take a lot of time to ween people out of and can translate into really disorganized teams and lone wolfing. As for Squad, it can be incredibly enjoyable with a decent squad, but the learning curve is unduly steep and unforgiving making it very hard for players with even reasonable experience to engage with Squad leading roles or utilize vehicles effectively and thus one of the reasons I play it no where near as much as HLL. Either way, when I play both there are aspects I wish the other had (like I wish Squad allowed squaddies to ping targets as they can in HLL and I wish medics were as essential in HLL as they're in Squad). Great games though.
Hi! I’m going to buy 1 of these two games this week. Please, can you give me an advice, which would be better to buy in 2021? I want to feel an atmosphere of war with close-knit team. Also can you answer on other my question: which community will be better to join? (Also my native language isn’t english, so Im’ sorry if I made some mistakes 😁)
@@bigmek4051 nothing really beats the realism of warfare than squad. Hell let loose for the fun gameplay. Community in squad varies, sometimes you meet very nice and helpful people and rarely you meet warzone kids.
the maps in HLL are based on recordings and pictures of the same places in and after WW2 so they are not designed for the flow of the game they are designed to be as close to what it actually was like as possible i really like both games but when it comes to maps for me HLL clearly is the winner maps in squad for me feel kinda empty when it comes to building structures no furniture whatsoever it just all feels like a big shooting range to me
Who cares about if a structure has furniture or not if it's the exact same copy paste for each type of building. Also HLL barren open fields don't fit with the arcadey gunplay, it's way too easy to snipe people with SMGs from 100+ m on maps like foy and purple heart lane.
HLL maps may be real in their graphical nature but they are so unrealistic with how you can traverse the terrain, fields make up big parts of the maps and usually have 1 or 2 distincts entries/exits to each other because of those fences/walls that u can't climb over, which makes camping those way too easy and combat much too predictable. City maps are the best in both games but Squad's Fallujah map is by far the best. Nearly every building is accessible on multiple floors and it's massive
Good video! I definitely agree that Hell Let Loose is a great gateway game into a more hardcore game like Squad. I switched over from COD and Battlefield, you definitely have to have a different mindset going in to these games.
For sure. HLL has become polluted with COD sad saps though and most games I enter are majorly disorganized on at least one side, leading to terrible games, win or lose. Too many lone wolfers, non mic users, riflemen (no squad leaders) and K/D ratio players.
HLL is the easiest to get in for a PTSD Simulator. Most ppl don't take it as serious as Squad. You can joke around, call for your momma in proximity, and usually get 3-5 ppl will join in with the Shennanigans in your WW2 2nd Life. It's hilarious and complex at the same time. Still requires a bit of outside research to get the jist down. I found it to be the more "FUN" of the 2, but also if you're going for something more serious with more than likely other service members, you may have better luck with Squad. Still both fun, but Squad just didn't hit for me like HLL.
Naw, almost all of his Squad footage shows him with almost all his mags yellow or orange! That seems like it'd be so stressful, and reloading only to have a half full mag would lead to a bad time.
@@Averag3Hom3boy As long as you have full mags and are same to do so reloading is always the better option, even if you spent a single bullet. You never know when you're gonna need those extra ones.
Then you are wrong. Squad is simply more tactical then hell let loose. How does strategy have anything to do with the era a game is set in? That make no sense at all XD
i have both and find squad a LOT harder to play, and just takes way too long to get into it, Gave it a go in march and gave up after a couple of hours. Bought HLL in july and haven't stopped playing it since. Ive owned SQUA since 2016... and put 80 hours into it... ive already put 170 hours into HLL in a few months of owning it. To me that says a lot about the 2 games.
Wow Squad is just amazing! It is the first game I ever saw with a realistic magazine System. So if you shoot 10 rounds and do a tactical reload you keep the Rest rounds in the magazine and the amo is not one mass like in bf5 and Cod
Escape from Trashkov is one of the most unrealistic "simulators" out there and yet you claim the opposite. Oh please tell me what's realistic about tarkov. The completely over-exaggerated recoil on stock weapons? But pay up a few hundreds of thousands of roubles and suddenly they are turned into laser beams! Or perhaps you are impressed by the completely fake ballistics where EVERY armor and EVERY bullet has COMPLETELY MADE UP penetration strength/resistance. For example a GOST 4 rated plate in Tarkov somehow gets EZ penetrated by mere ball 7,62 ammo. Oh, and don't forget that they started adding COMPLETELY MADE UP ammunition, such as the .366 "AP" even though no such thing exists. Yup, Tarkov sure is a hardcore realistic combat simulator, just like they marketed it. Yup, surely.
The animation, and all graphics in general are better. The terrain actually provides real concealment in HLL. This game is absolutely bloody. The various dismemberment animations and how they interact with the physics engine is the best I've ever seen I'm often witness to seeing players die in new and interesting ways. This game reminds you that war is HELL. The nature of the weapons also provides a better feel and balance. Ironically, the three factions of USA, USSR, and Germany have a difference in firepower distribution that makes for a kind of asymmetrical match up. Like the bolt action kar98 is the only main weapon option for like 6 of a 9 man German infantry squad. But the mg42 is rightfully the most powerful small arm on the field due to the games fearsome suppression mechanic. Recon squads are the only units to be equipped with scoped weapons, and I appreciate that alot. They're also limited to two squads per team which really eliminates sniper spamming. There's a clear demarcation between playing offence and defence in this game. People are rarely messing around on parts of the map that have no strategic value. The two game modes are invasion and warfare, the difference being that invasion has one faction advancing and one faction defending. Once a point is captured by the advancing faction, it cannot be recaptured by the defense. In warfare, factions must simultaneously defend a point and attack a point, hoping to advance and gain territory on the map and grind out a win by capturing the majority of the map and holding it till time runs out, or by capturing the whole map. There is no spawn count in this game, so you can die literally 1000 times and it will not affect the outcome of the match. I actually appreciate this. If you stay true to actual an military principle like applying overwhelming firepower on covered and concealed enemy positions in order to manuever units within range for close quarter assault, the game rewards you. Often times a match will last for an hour or more you may end up like me, with a little PTSD after each match that makes me have to step away for a bit, get some fresh air, maybe smoke a cigarette, and psych myself out before the next match.
Your right bro, what you see in all other games? All with sniper...Hell let loose is totally perfect. However, for such a good game, the community would expect a lot of updates. The mechanics of the game are so good, the base. There should be a lot more weapons, vehicles, anything with parachutes. In any case, it's by far the best game I've ever played, i can say it after 800 hours in game.
Glad both of these games exist. I'm not so much into "hardcore" shooters, but I enjoy games that are middling between Battlefield and Squad/Post Scriptum, so I really enjoy Hell Let Loose. I'm looking forward to the logistics update that I feel was inspired by Squad. This genre learns from itself I feel, and it's great we have player choice. Now I just want a game with a successful "multiplayer campaign." Red Orchestra/Rising Storm 2 were good games, but design decisions made this mode a crapshoot.
With regards to HLL I would like and option to demote yr squad leader..been in a couple of games where the squad is wanting to work together but the guy who took squad lead dosn't communicate and runs off on there own leaving the other 5 members trying to work together without the option of setting up OPs etc.. I have both games but tend to play HLL more..great vids :)
To me, hll is better because of the stupid Game security violation error in squad. Cant fix that error. Other than that i completely agree with what you said in the video :)
I switched from years of playing Rising Storm and Red Orchestra over to Hell Let Loose. The squad system and comms in HLL really makes it a lot more immersive and fun.

I loved playing battlefield 4 and loved flying the transport helos to drop off people at objectives and would always communicate the best I could, but I’m worried squad is a bit more hardcore than I realize. I want to be able to have fun yet be careful with what I’m doing
I've put 1k hours into squad without even trying HLL up until yesterday. After the squsd update and me finding out how good HLL is, ill probably never touch squad again. Instead of reworking the combat system squad should have added more content. Specifically quality of life content that HLL already has like prorgression and character customization. The games arent even close. I used to love squad. Even before the update HLL shits on squad everyday of the week its not even comparable.
Gamer tip. Don’t reload after only shooting 5 rounds. Example. If you had a fresh 30rnd mag. Would’ve cleared the fob. But still nice kills. U just needed one more round for the marksmen :/
I don't love HLL not having a ticket system. I see lots of people running in, dying, respawning and doing the exact same thing. I've seen much more tactical play in squad
I bought squad recently and I like it a lot. Its true that it isn't very accesible for new player in the genre. But once u get into it and understand the dynamics of the battlefield you're gonna have great time. After seeing this video and reading through a bunch of articles I'm gonna buy hell let loose and I think I will have more fun there. And very informative, detailed and well put together video. I love it
You will for sure have more fun if you stick to HLL. Put 1k hours in squad and picked up HLL. I'm mad at myself for not doing it sooner. Far superior game it's much more polished and less buggy.
@@kylera5565 I'm saying your k/d doesn't mean anything in games like this. You could of easily of lost too. Capturing sectors and holding them is far more important. You can go 0-20 in this game but if you're holding points and flanking, you're far more useful and important than the guy who is racking up kills but not playing the objective. Your body wasn't physically in the point.
I dont really understand the player numbers explosion, 99% of Squad is still the same. Probably many took a break and just waited for the game to release
I feel like squad is just short of becoming a great game. I feel like they are good at making the game but do a poor job w the gameplay side. Every time i play squad everybody is spawning on the same point and the enemy always knows where it is. Its either boring af or a complete sht show. You have to know how to implement features that allow players to do more. In hell let loose you can place spawn points using the watch with ease and it makes team play easier and more available. At the end of the day its a game and there needs to be things keeping it interesting throughout the match weather that's making smaller maps more spawn points idk but it can't be that hard to fix or make a game mode that will drag in a larger crowd.
Hey, I'm new to squad and I was wondering if there's an easy way to find a dedicated group of people to play with. I find it a lot easier to communicate if you're comfortable with each other, etc. Anyone have a recommendation?
HLL community just doesn't communicate or work together like they do in SQUAD. Unless someone knows a decent server. let me know. otherwise my hll experience has been just as boring as battlefield except when you die you have to slow run for 5 miles to get back.
I'm a HLL guy. thinking of buying squad. I'm so sick of not being able to see people and not having scopes. Games just full of campers/snipers and no ability to see them. I like slow and tacktical. I just want to be able to see enemies if i'm looking at them.
The fragility of spawning in HLL and the general lack of team work to set them up has actually caused me to run MORE in that game to get to action that in squad or post scriptum. HLL is very hit or miss and inconsistent. I'd honestly rather just play RO2/RS2 or battlefield if I want a more arcade-like large scale game.
Squad feels clunky... the weapon controll is horrible and the fatigue system sucks when u have to run long ranges... tried Squad again few days ago.. i simply dont like it at all. Whenever i jump into HLL i get addicted for that game!
Squad very much so. Hell Let Loose not so much.... It can feel that way if you don't know what you're doing, and worse... it can feel like a death simulator if you charge the front line like you would in a Battlefield game. Once you get over the initial skill cap and predict the enemy players movements it's worth it though. There's way more potential for huge multi kills in a game like Hell Let Loose.
Squad has more realistic on first person animation (reloading, running, throwing grenande), immersive sounds and explosion, and tactics. HLL has more realistic 3d environment (folliage, building, and some little things that make the map immersive) and better rendered assets
You barely even talked about the teamwork differences (it seemed like you only mentioned the map communication and maybe one could construe the logistics coverage as relating to teamwork). These are huge parts of Squad at least, less so in Hell Let Loose. From the footage, it seems maybe you don't care about playing as a team that much but it could have just been selected footage. The teamwork mechanics and overall feel of squad with respect to teamwork is the reason I play that game and I'm by far not alone.
"hll without mic is fun and you can play just by visual communication...but its more fun with blabla" xD ... there is not a single german server where you arent kicked seconds after entering without a mic. communication is key guys! wtf ffs. you just simply CANT win against a team that talks to eachother if youre not, because its a TEAM-game. So why bother playin if its predestined that youll loose?? just for senseless pixle murder? i rly dont get that mentality and most people are actually nice in chat btw so plz dont be afraid. :-*
Hell let loose is far superior. I just picked it up after 1k hours in squad. Much more action way less running. No where near as buggy. Squad you can get a tank stuck on a damn pebble. Its actually EXTREMELY COMMON to get stuck on small objects. Yet the dev team focuses on reworking a combat wystem. People should be furious with the devs but the community wants to keep the money coming in from thier white listers so they all just play along and.give 5 stars to this shit update.
hll has bad sound when you are been shot you dont know where that came from! In squad it is like real life the best sound desing ever all other shooters is just bad!
I played squad first and i really could not get into it. I am personally awful at long range combat where bullet drop heavily influences shooting. I would play an hour long game and 7 kills would be an accomplishment. I will say squad did give me one of my most immersive experiences in gaming. There were like 20 of us stuck in a building in the airstrip just being constantly under artillery fire and constant MG fire it was fucking awesome. and then we all died Hell let Loose i feel like i can actually play the game.
both game have no offline bots, so once the ppl decide to move on to another game , the game is dead. thats why i still play today bf2 and red orchestra or arma 2 but not newer bf games and other without bots and that is sad. i wanted hell let lose so much but no bots is a deal breaker for me sadly .
Why? It makes no sense for a FPS like squad. You don’t need to be a certain rank to be LAT, HAT or medic it would make new players useless and too Grindy rather than realistic
Sorry dude but you know nothing about reality of shooting modes realty of shooting auto or single or burst , I have seen peoples shooting full auto with no miss and is powerful option in assault well handle by large strong men whom know what he does and what is mean recoil is an factor not standard, hell let’s lose it mean soldiers are trained so recoil is less and diffraction of weapons as calibre is different and other factors thanks
Squad looks really bad... The gunplay seems unrealistic and the maps don't look alive. When the person in the Squad video looks out over the field it looks like a painted canvas.
Hell Let Lose.. it's okay but no coop with PvAI... Squad.. pay to win... both are a no sale for me... sticking with ARMA III much better and there is one hell of a mod community...

Operation flashpoint was very good , i saw your comment . I believe it was the first game that did 120 vs 120 .
"it's pretty easy to wipe down a team in HLL vs Squad..." proceeds to take down a full 9man squad in Squad.
Needs a space. I read it as BILL YEAT WORLD.
great video, keep up the good work!
I love it
Same dude:)
You will for sure have more fun if you stick to HLL. Put 1k hours in squad and picked up HLL. I'm mad at myself for not doing it sooner. Far superior game it's much more polished and less buggy.
120 kills with arty on hll good or no
kukri 1212 good.
Who cares, k/d doesn't mean anything if your team can't cap the points.
@@JustSkram I shelled all the points and helped guard them sooo idk what u sayin we also won
Weird flex but ok
I am a veteran Battlefield player, so I like HLL more cuz it is not hardcore mil-sim. I wouldn't play Post Scriptum.
Hey,
I'm new to squad and I was wondering if there's an easy way to find a dedicated group of people to play with. I find it a lot easier to communicate if you're comfortable with each other, etc. Anyone have a recommendation?
Join squad discord server
@@satriadewazuda2949 Thank you! I did and found some people to play with
I tend to play on the same server and I normally find the same people on there
If you're from Australia, then BigD Gaming
TLR is a good clan
HLL community just doesn't communicate or work together like they do in SQUAD. Unless someone knows a decent server. let me know. otherwise my hll experience has been just as boring as battlefield except when you die you have to slow run for 5 miles to get back.
I'm a HLL guy. thinking of buying squad. I'm so sick of not being able to see people and not having scopes. Games just full of campers/snipers and no ability to see them. I like slow and tacktical. I just want to be able to see enemies if i'm looking at them.
Would be great if hll would be not ww2 as its too limited like scopes
Just the video I needed
I come from Rising Storm 2 Vietnam, should I go for Squad, right?
Since I never liked Battlefield or CoD.
@@pedruskoz Hell Let Loose has a similar playstyle and similar mechanics to Rising Storm 2 Vietnam so I think you'd like it more.
It's much better now
Please do a comparison video between HLL, Squad and Enlisted those are three games people never put against each other.
Unnecessary to mention Enlisted... This is a joke game, Squad and HLL are serious games.
Squad feels clunky... the weapon controll is horrible and the fatigue system sucks when u have to run long ranges... tried Squad again few days ago.. i simply dont like it at all. Whenever i jump into HLL i get addicted for that game!
How about Post Scriptum and HLL instead. Come WW2 games and not a modern game with a WW2 game.
Could squad ever be on consoles like hll
But isn't squad recoil over exagerated?
Its more realistic to real life, wouldnt say its "exaggerated" per say
Why would you compare these 2 games?
Hll is very enjoyable , this game remind me to brothers in arms trilogy , and it is a good think :)
Hell let loose is fire!
its so repetetive

Thanks man! What a legend.
You will not be led by the hand. Be patient. Focus.
I prefer squad and Post scriptum
my question is if either of the games fell like a walk sim
Squad very much so. Hell Let Loose not so much.... It can feel that way if you don't know what you're doing, and worse... it can feel like a death simulator if you charge the front line like you would in a Battlefield game.
Once you get over the initial skill cap and predict the enemy players movements it's worth it though. There's way more potential for huge multi kills in a game like Hell Let Loose.
Damage and destraction graphics is lacking on those games..
i spen 200hrs on Squad, i liked this game, but graphics looks vibrant and cartoonish for military game..
Id give SQUAD a try
Can someone tell me if im the only person that is lagging when i’m in a big fight in squad?
Ur a fortnite kid thats why u dont understand that fps can drop
NicoBralic bruh in not a fortnite kid but k
Hyper Dream then whats ur pfp
@NicoBralic why so pissy?
Jesus for someone who likes these kinds of games you certainly reload like its an arcade shooter
its a video game, calm your tits....
Didn’t you already do one of these not long ago ?.
Squad has more realistic on first person animation (reloading, running, throwing grenande), immersive sounds and explosion, and tactics.
HLL has more realistic 3d environment (folliage, building, and some little things that make the map immersive) and better rendered assets
post scriptum and HELL LET LOOSE pls
You barely even talked about the teamwork differences (it seemed like you only mentioned the map communication and maybe one could construe the logistics coverage as relating to teamwork). These are huge parts of Squad at least, less so in Hell Let Loose. From the footage, it seems maybe you don't care about playing as a team that much but it could have just been selected footage. The teamwork mechanics and overall feel of squad with respect to teamwork is the reason I play that game and I'm by far not alone.
About 70% of my hll play time has great communication and teamwork. The reason for the 30% is the newer players
im sad because my pc cant run squad :(
TheDark Jiraffe just wait and maybe you can get a better processor or graphics card
@@jerestan8064 im gonna buy a rtx 2070 or gtx 1080 second hand and then build a new pc actually
That music from de BFV in the beginning 🎵👌
3:10 that hurts to watch
the reason i chose squad, is because there are no bots. its a huge deal breaker for me and the reason i wont play arma
I wish a console-only version would come out for Squad
Emphasis on “console-only” so we don’t have to mix w PC virgins
"hll without mic is fun and you can play just by visual communication...but its more fun with blabla" xD ... there is not a single german server where you arent kicked seconds after entering without a mic. communication is key guys! wtf ffs. you just simply CANT win against a team that talks to eachother if youre not, because its a TEAM-game. So why bother playin if its predestined that youll loose?? just for senseless pixle murder? i rly dont get that mentality and most people are actually nice in chat btw so plz dont be afraid. :-*
I have never heard of an Arma player switching to squad. Why even bother with that arcade bullshit?
Good
Thanks buddy!
Tf? In HLL cities maps are awful, you get stuck on invisible walls, what are you on about
hll has bad sound when you are been shot you dont know where that came from!
There were like 20 of us stuck in a building in the airstrip just being constantly under artillery fire and constant MG fire it was fucking awesome. and then we all died
Hell let Loose i feel like i can actually play the game.
HLL>Squad
both game have no offline bots, so once the ppl decide to move on to another game , the game is dead.
thats why i still play today bf2 and red orchestra or arma 2 but not newer bf games and other without bots and that is sad.
i wanted hell let lose so much but no bots is a deal breaker for me sadly .
Squad really needs some sort of progression
Why? It makes no sense for a FPS like squad. You don’t need to be a certain rank to be LAT, HAT or medic it would make new players useless and too Grindy rather than realistic
No
Bruh squad got remastered graphics and looks 10x time s better...
The HLL graphics bother me. They’re so bad and I can’t even see a good distance
Nah. Your PC is just terrible.
My graphics look better on Squad than Hell Let Loose....Help!
Who the fuck wanted this comparison? Casual WW2 game vs. Current Day Milsim. Hey Billy, when does the FS 2020 vs. Project Cars 2 comparison come out?
Squad is better
This comparison makes no sense. Post Scriptum & HLL would be a comparison, or PS and Squad, but not this one
Squad looks really bad... The gunplay seems unrealistic and the maps don't look alive. When the person in the Squad video looks out over the field it looks like a painted canvas.
HLL
Hell Let Lose.. it's okay but no coop with PvAI... Squad.. pay to win... both are a no sale for me... sticking with ARMA III much better and there is one hell of a mod community...
how is squad pay to win? you cant buy anything
@@chandude3 pay2win definition:-> the option of being able to turn real world money into gameplay advantage
