Thank you for sharing your story. I always strongly rejected the idea of religion, since a child, yet always longed for answers. I discovered my spirituality until I visited Thailand and had the opportunity to learn about buddhism. Learning to meditate was amazing but also brought back unresolved childhood trauma. I sat with it until I connected with Ayahuasca, and it transformed my life… even helped me dive deeper into Buddhism. I am fascinated by both worlds and how intertwined they really are. We all do need to wake up sooner, I hope this information reaches more people.
Thanks Spring for your courage and wisdom to widen your practices and teachings to include earth plant relatives. You are bringing clarity to these mutual ways of healing.
Thank you for your message! I have found the same thing. I started meditating in 2001 with Spirit Rock teachers. I did an 80 day retreat at Panditarama in Lumbini, did 30 day retreats, several 10 day retreats. I also have a psychotherapy background. Sitting with plant medicine - Ayahuasca, hape, mushrooms - has brought my spiritual development to a whole new magical, miracle level. I cant fully explain it in words as it’s ineffable many of these things. The main difference has been the level of love I have been able to access. Love meaning forgiveness, clarity, unity, compassion, joy, curiosity, creativity - all the elements of it. Metta practice is nice and maybe “works” for some people but it never got me anywhere near what ayahuasca has done. It’s not all sunshine and roses. She will make you do the shadow work but the depth of honesty and clarity and love is unparalleled. And plant medicine is especially helpful for people like myself who have faced trauma (which is basically most people) It helps break down those barriers to the divine which is love. I find that meditation, plus psychotherapy tools, plus plant medicine is a great combination for healing. Thank you 🙏 ❤
8:51 "If it was not that we were at this stage of our humanity on this planet being jeopardized, I would not be offering ayahuasca and buddhism. But we are at a tipping point and we need to wake up faster" Of course as Buddhists the very idea of acceleration is counter-intuitive. And yet in this case one could apply one of my favorite zen expression : "Hurry up, slowly"
Without the use of entheogenic substances it’s highly unlikely that there would be no Buddhism. Just look into ‘Soma’ of which over 1/2 of the Rig Veda is dedicated to. Although the real key to Samadhi and the experience of Enlightenment etc. 5-MeO-DMT is the Key! Ayahuasca is a very healing plant medicine, but leaves the ego intact. 5MeO can temporarily elicit a full separation from the ego into the state of Sat Chit Ananda ✨♾️🙏🏼💖✨

I loved that thank you.
I used to live right down the street from the East Bay Meditation Center and sit sometimes.
