High paid engineers and designers could not figure this out and some how, their incompetence passes quality control. You got it right with your design here.
I collect junk for my brother. He uses so much sheet metal and square brackets? I am always on the run and keep an eye out. I love it that when I call dad or my brother, they pitch up the trailer or box truck and pick up what I tell them I found. I just found one of those boxes that wash engines and it was sitting on my corner on a busy highway. So glad I sat on it. It will be put to good use. I love to watch the end results. They can do anything. Thanks for posting. Reminded me of how my brother operates. Very clean too.
Nice job dude - you the man. That is a work of art - a huge time saver for dumping and reloading. I appreciate your workmanship and ingenuity as I also like to come up with solutions to things myself. Thanks for sharing.
Sweet bagger. Excellent idea. Next up, an in-ground pressure washer that power-washes the underside of the mowing deck. Drive over top of it, press the button, wash, wash, wash, all the stuck grass clumps are cleaned off. Back to work.
phooesnax Thank you phooesnax. Too funny on that neighbor thing. I always have that thought too! Bet there would be some pretty wild creations built when a bunch of gear heads get together!
If you ever wear out a snow shovel with a D-handle, you can drill through where the wood (or metal) pole used to be, and install your string for an easier to grab handle.
Actually I have a 6th grade reading level. Reading is difficult. At times I read comments multiple times to understand. Yeah - kinda sad but.... This type of stuff is natural to me, thankfully!
Pretty sure those will fit your wheels. I usually buy a tube of those bearings, saves down time when it's go time. Stopped into a friends place and he just bought a cheap rider. Nice clean 1 owner - ( one owner at a time :>) Was commenting on the wore out front wheels. Nice to help him out on a Sunday when no one is open! If your dad has any ??? hit me up I'd be glad to help. Different attachment vid's to come.....
mustie1 They didn't have any pictures or demo on hand so bought that kinda blind. Did try it out as is (once) but I probably wouldn't use it as much if it took so long to install it to the machine.
That's a great addition to the mower Jeff. The only thing I would add is that you should dump those leaves on the railroad tracks that way they will get moved along with the next train.
I fancy myself a bit of an engineer similar to yourself... But this is well thought out and functional, and really takes the innovation cake. Thank you for posting!
Good stuff!! Cool deal on the bearings too, I kind of forgot about those. I'm tryin to figure out a cheap way of putting front wheel bearings on my mud/speed mower and this may work.... I don't have a nice tractor like that, but my parents are building their retirement home and dad mentioned about getting one. I told him to check ya out now for ideas later!
Roy Brooks Glad this helps you out Roy! These projects can take a little time at first but when done and in use any time spent is well worth it! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I always enjoy hearing what others are up to.
Great mod, I just won bagger in an auction for my Kubota BX 25d and I think I'm going to do this mod eventually. Also great job with the video I liked and subscribed.
This is pretty cool. You may want to rig the release and closed mechanism to the lift mechanism. As the bagger is being raised, the bottom panel releases and as the bagger is being lowered, the bottom panel closes. I think you should patent your idea and sell it to a manufacturer or make a few to sell. I'm a patent attorney and so if you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Just out of curiosity... what revision is the final product... amazing job sir.. but a LOT more work than I would want to tangle... looks better than what's out there to buy...
+ChicagoDoItYourself Now When I start on these type ideas always hope they will work as planed. On some projects more time is spent pondering than actually executing. Real happy on the ones where no final mod's or tweeks are necessary! This actually went pretty good. Thanks for stopping by.
Great tips. Craftsman does the same with their idler pulleys. They go bad for me just about every season. I've drilled them as you did yours and this way can replace them with much better bearings. Just a quick question (if this video gets monitored at all anymore. Why not fabricate a wider or larger basket? For such large tractor, it seems smaller than it could be. Nice video.
Thank you and - yes I always read (and appreciate) all the comments! A larger basket would be better but where I don't have far to go to dump and limited leaf trees here otherwise your right - I probably would of perused that.
And from memory this is on the tractor that you built from scratch yourself eg had the parts delivered from the factory so you could put it together yourself
dtec30 Your right I did assemble it where it came in a crate. It did come from the dealer though. Where I had got to know them pretty good they said they normally don't allow folks to assemble themselves. You'll like this!! Originally I had a B2410 that I wanted to trade in. They didn't have the B2910 that I wanted. They actually sent someone to Michigan with a flat bed to get it on a Friday night. Saturday afternoon it showed up! I wouldn't of had any pictures of it in the crate. My mom showed up, always has a camera along, asked what I'm getting into now & took those pictures that I have. She also took some 8mm movie's of me when I was a kid beating on some of my homemade creations. I have these on DVD, was working on posting them but I didn't think the quality Isn't good enough for today's standards to post.:>)
Well I have managed to fing someone's old 8 mm film of fischertechnik back in 1973 and it brought back some really powerful memories for me there was one shot of some people gathered around out side before going inside a hall area packed with fischertechnik displays and kits to buy and I could just imagine my parents doing that back in the day
For that you will want a hay rake for a tractor. Then a hay baler could be modified to pick it up. Why a hay baler? Because you can remove the bail system and just use the hay pickup system to pick up the hemp and then move it into a trailer. or you could even bail it like hay to compact it and then store it, like hay or at that point break the bales open and do what ever you need to with the hemp.
Great Design and Concept for sure :D. Time is Money and you have thought it all throughout for sure :D. Here is something you can ADD to your design... Add a small 12v dc Motor to release the dumping door latch and an actuator to lower your dumping door down, that way it's ALL auto, LMAO
Hey, 2Jeffs1, I'm fanatical about keeping my tractor clean as well...But, I cant keep mine engine looking as clean as yours...how do you do that? Mine stays dusty and will not blow off, even with a high pressure air hose..
OMG!!! I love your Bagger system. I must have watched this 10 times. I've got the same "Original System" but my PTO Vac is mounted between the tractor and hanging bags. Where did you get the PTO Vac that mounts to the mower discharge shoot???? Thanks
Got a kick out of your write-up! :>) That came from Kubota with that bagger system. There is a gearbox that has a mounting bracket and flange. The flange mounted to the pulley on the mower deck to drive the gearbox. The gearbox, that small driveshaft (visible in the video) and blower and shoot all came with the bagger kit. So that is all driven thru the mower deck just to be clear. Check with the dealer, they should have some info and pictures to be sure if that will work ok for what you already have.
I love the video and the mods, I am going to use some of your ideas myself. I particularly like the 3 point hitch frame. great idea. I am currently doing a pedal mod for side by side pedals. You obviously have good fabricating and electrical skills, what is your background? I am a tool & die maker (20yrs) and did fabrication prior. I don't hand out compliments easy, but you do great work.
Really enjoyed reading your comment. I like to hear what others do for a living. Thru the years I had some opportunities to tour different places when someone offered and really enjoy things like that. I kinda live out in the shop and big on experimental, trying to create different things. Been self employed since 82 doing automotive things and did have schooling on the electronic systems as the new stuff came out.
Jeff do a search for kubota twin pedal mod and you'll see my latest mod. there are 3 different videos. you'll want to watch all 3. my user name is 100inchhammer after my motorcycle
baggers are very expensive and don't work very well. and you've got a bunch more money into one. i just simply bought a couple used triple baggers and when two bags are full, switch to two empty ones. throw all eight of them in the truck when full and take them to the dump site and start over. it's a helluva lot faster and easier and above all, cheaper!.
You sure are right about the nuisance the two or three bag system. Plus the bags are cloth so when you dump them you also have hold the bottom, while holding the top and you don't have enough hands. And all the makers of this stuff just copy what others do so they are all the same, junk! And those blower tubes, don't they love to get clogged all the time. Now I just hire people to do the lawn and my garage doesn't smell like gasoline and grass anymore! Sure is a shame guys like you never get hired by the companies that make this stuff. Also, somebody told me if you put ethanol gas in your mowers it will wreck the gasoline tubes and seals. So you get a pool of this on your floor, and it won't work and you have to fix it and clean up the mess.
EnergeticWaves Yeah kinda a shame when things aren't made a little more user friendly right off the bat. That ethanol tip is a great one for people who don't know. I have a friend who fixes lawn mowers. He sees damage from that stuff way to often!
what does the blower driveshaft hook to ? you didn't show it .. but it looks like one of the blade holder drives has a pto on it .. is that so ? .. wish they made something like that in a universal format... nothing worse than that old Briggs screaming behind you as you go .. : (
There is a 90 degree angle drive gear box that is driven off, the flange bolts to the top of that outer blade pulley. It is kept from rotating by that 1 upper bracket. Briggs screaming behind ya, I totally agree. Not a pleasant thing!

Is this FenceKid? Guy is a genius on another channel. He helped me get my son in law off of cigarettes! Great dude and a hard damn worker.
So darn excellent. I bet it is a hoot to be your neighbor! Just watching the projects would be a riot. Very smartly done Jeff.
phooesnax Thank you phooesnax. Too funny on that neighbor thing. I always have that thought too! Bet there would be some pretty wild creations built when a bunch of gear heads get together!
This is the best design I have seen. I heed to adapt it to a garden tractor. You have me thinking. Thank you.
You see a lot of morons coming up with some pretty ponderous contraptions on UA-cam, but this guy knows what he's doing. Thank you!
Yes, and with a great wonderful attitude as well...
Always amazed by a skilled person.
If you ever wear out a snow shovel with a D-handle, you can drill through where the wood (or metal) pole used to be, and install your string for an easier to grab handle.
I hope you realize how much of a genius you are. I wouldn't be surprised if you were a former engineer. Great work man.

l swear they make it so they become consumibles, and make it last just a couple of years, great mods by the way, that trap door is great,
mustie1 They didn't have any pictures or demo on hand so bought that kinda blind. Did try it out as is (once) but I probably wouldn't use it as much if it took so long to install it to the machine.
You’re absolutely correct! Sad thing is, there’s even a name for it.... planned obsolescence
That's a great addition to the mower Jeff. The only thing I would add is that you should dump those leaves on the railroad tracks that way they will get moved along with the next train.
Check Out These Videos Thanks man! Hmm-bet that would work good....
I fancy myself a bit of an engineer similar to yourself... But this is well thought out and functional, and really takes the innovation cake. Thank you for posting!
tyler79durdan Thank you Tyler! Always enjoy a comment from another creator. Getting things done faster allows more time for the next adventure!
Good stuff!!

Got my bagging system for a new b2601 and it isn't any better. Looks like I might be using some of your ideas
Great mod was looking to replace the bags on mine and make it easier to dump. Just have to do a few more of the bearing mods!!!
Roy Brooks Glad this helps you out Roy! These projects can take a little time at first but when done and in use any time spent is well worth it! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I always enjoy hearing what others are up to.
Very clever design. Nice job!
Some pretty nice improvements you have done to that lil tractor!
John Wallace Thanks John! It's great to get the yard work done quicker which leaves more time for other projects. :)
Jeff, as always you share very good ideas. Oh, I find it very funny that you have the birds barking makes my day sometimes...
Take Care...
Hello William. Always like to toss a little humor in here and there. ;>)
You should patent this and, I will have to say, "you are very innovative". Great Job.
i like the idea of drilling out the rivets and putting nuts and bolts
Hey buddy. Love the vids. You are a genius. I'm going to attempt to build one of these for my Husqvarna zero turn. Thank you for the idea!
That is a great time saver for me here. Glad to help out with some idea's. Have fun with your project! Jeff.
Nice make 1 to fit small yard tractors. Nice tractor u got. I could afford tractor like that i would hire people. Nice job
GREAT mod for your bagger! Must think of a way to do this with my smaller lawn tractor. Just great, you know your stuff.
I Thank You Jody!
Awesome! You are quite the creative mechanical engineer!
Joe FromRomeo Thank you Joe Yeah - More power tool time show! Glad you enjoyed the vid.
You need to start a business and sell this to consumers. I would definitely buy it for my tractor.
Great mod, I just won bagger in an auction for my Kubota BX 25d and I think I'm going to do this mod eventually. Also great job with the video I liked and subscribed.

Absolutley brilliant jeff keep up the good work mate

Thanks, very interesting! Could the grass catcher be modified to pick up industrial hemp from the field, after it dries?

BTW, buy the Silicon Spray and spray all the moving Parts each Season :)
Best DIY for the yard
Very impressive, might have a good business plan with your product.
Well thought out Sir Nice Mod.
you and Paul Short should have Mods wars!! winner would be crowed the King of Mods!!
Hey, 2Jeffs1, I'm fanatical about keeping my tractor clean as well...But, I cant keep mine engine looking as clean as yours...how do you do that? Mine stays dusty and will not blow off, even with a high pressure air hose..
what a frikkin mod master
Best one i have seen.you are no.1.
Great design but I do have a question, my lift works both my mower deck and my rear lift at the same time. Is your lift independent of each other?
Same here, I think that won't affect anything when you go to lift you are dumping so it isn't going to affect the grass cutting.
Go to work for Toro and show them how a hopper/bagger should be built. Mine is the biggest POS you have ever seen.
Another very enjoyable and informative video. However, no "The wildlife"! lol
holycrossplymouth Hahah - Thank you holycrossplymouth. I'll make sure the wildlife is included on the next one - at no additional charge!
really slick mod made my day.
I'm wondering if grass catchers work picking up leaves or not.
That's slick bud
OMG!!! I love your Bagger system. I must have watched this 10 times. I've got the same "Original System" but my PTO Vac is mounted between the tractor and hanging bags. Where did you get the PTO Vac that mounts to the mower discharge shoot????
Thanks

Ikept listening to your voice and though dayum he sounds like Elwood Blues ,, I kept watching in the back ground to see if Jake was slinking around

awesome engineering work!

Everything needs more power (Tim the toolman) - might want to add a blower motor to mulch and blow yard debris up in there! ;)
Joe FromRomeo Spoke too soon - you got one!
What's that good music behind?
pretty nifty!
that's really cool!
Wish this guy was my neighbor!
Man that works great

Do you have high lift blades on the mower?? Thanks Ben
Ben Boudreau Hi Ben. Nothing special, just the ones that come with the mower deck.
that is really cool
cool idea
2jeffs1, any chance you’d sell me the old bracket, by the PTO, used to mount the original system?
what does the blower driveshaft hook to ? you didn't show it .. but it looks like one of the blade holder drives has a pto on it .. is that so ? .. wish they made something like that in a universal format... nothing worse than that old Briggs screaming behind you as you go .. : (
There is a 90 degree angle drive gear box that is driven off, the flange bolts to the top of that outer blade pulley. It is kept from rotating by that 1 upper bracket. Briggs screaming behind ya, I totally agree. Not a pleasant thing!
Frank Gallagher comes to mind
I got that!
Interesting and innovative, but not sure how many dudes have a 30 million dollar lawn mower in their garage.
😂😂😂
Some of us have steep inclines and terrain that a normal mower just wont pull. A subcompact tractor can be used for a LOT more than mowing. Your comment just shows you have never lived in the country. This man is a GENIUS!
Cool vid
Steven Silva Thanks Steve!
I'm trying to convince my 23 year old wife that we need a brand new subcompact garden tractor, preferably a jd x738. but she's laughs when I tell her the price tag.
Handyman. Love Kubs :)
could you tell me what is the brand of the blower assembly and the deck pulley pto converter?
+david flaherty Hi David. The blower assy didn't have any numbers on it. The pulley PTO has GC60F. Where those items came with the Kubota bagger maybe they want to keep the part sales in house. The mower deck is RCK60-24B in case that might help.
Very cool
Ingenious!
Los me this invention, do you have it for sale ?
what a legend!
Delivered a nice even cut, has the super tight turning ability ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend I was looking for, and is just a blast to drive. Just take it nice and slow during the turn and then it's back to full throttle across the yard!
That's so smart
WOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!
duncha kno
What grade of screen do you recommend for this?
That was regular window screen I used.
You need to make a system for zero turns, so i can buy one from you.
2jeffs1, excellent,
+Kennethe Miller Thank you!
Big gubb
