I love watching you catch these fish and all these spillways you go to. I live in Northeast Mississippi, and I myself, I love fishing spillways too. you got all kinds of species and you never know what you're going to catch. But if you turn that drag just a little bit looser and let that fish run, you'll land a lot more of your big fish. My oldest brother landed a 65 lb 8 oz Flathead cat fishing for Crappie with a green curly tail grub. A hour and 5 minutes, we put it in the boat. Continue catching 618...

People in the US are spoiled. Its good meat. And this type of carp is not even a bottom feeder, which means its unnecessary to keep the carp for a couple of days in clean water without food. And this is coming from someone, who does not like the taste of carp in general. Its all up to the cook to make something delicious out of it, while other fish are that good, that you want to eat them raw.

I also saved a little girls life from drowning at those floodgates in this video. She was a little mixed girl, maybe 3 or 4 and walked off the drop off and got sucked down, i was maybe 10 to 12 and jumped in and found her. And I know no one will believe me but I came out of the water dry. I swear. There were even some old men there that were freaked out over the whole ordeal. Then about 15 years later i rab into one of the men that were there, and he was telling a group of people about the storyand I over heard him and chimed in saying it was me that saved her those many years back, and the man said ( you young man deserve a metal, and if thought of you for years. About how you came out dry after saving that girl. Still gives me chills) his words.

Thanks for taking us fishing with you. Silver carp? Leave skin and scales on. Filet off one side, including ribs. Take the half that still has spine and lay it on grill over a wood fire. Close grill and let it bake for 2 hours. Y bones? They're in a pattern and you'll figure it out. Lay the filet that doesn't have the back bone on tin foil and cook the same way. You'll wonder why you threw them away. Absolutely delicious! My favorite wood to use is soft maple.

If you're interested in some bowfin the small drainage ditch to the east of the the creek you caught the silvers always has bowfin laying up in the bank. From past experience the fish seem to be most active at night. A lot of people like to catfish at the end of the small wall at the base of the spillway.

I think scientists lied about them only being plankton feeders 🤔 I wouldn’t doubt if they eat tons of native fish

I doubt they could eat juvenile or adult native species, but as filter feeders they probably get loads of tiny fry and small minnows.

The way they fish for them in Vietnam and Thailand is by putting corn hair into a clump of wheat paste. Supposedly they go after that more then anything else.

Doesn't sound like anyone is familiar with how fantastic Asian carpet is to eat. And the filleting process is so easy. Look it up. Not like common carp at all. Nick, love the content. Huge fan. Peace.
