Naruo is literally in his Prime right now. I don't think most people can see it. I've never seen him play to this degree before. Like hes actually threat. All of his confirms are on point. Reads are on point. Mindgames are next level. Bro had a training arc we don't know about.
We still haven't seen him in tournaments though... Punk usually does well online too, but fail in tournaments
@@thomasromano9239 But bro was giving Itazan that work. And he's been playing Fighting games for decades.
@@taelin-rh3wi Daigo's been playing for decades too (myself as well), and he's now a shadow of his former self. I'm not saying Naruo's not good, but he needs to start going up against the top players.
@@thomasromano9239 Well I watch this channel frequently and Naruo out of every other player on this channel has had the biggest glow up in terms of overall play style. It's not about playing in tournaments. I'm just saying from a channel perspective.
@@taelin-rh3wi If you don't want to watch matches of the highest level, I'm not sure what's the point of watching this game. I haven't watched Naruo's channel, but I don't want to see him play against mid-level opponents constantly... he needs to bring his game to the highest level because he's capable.
15:30 Awesome comeback
Strongest Jamie in the house, nice work!
It feels like Jamie actually has the upper hand in this matchup
True, but his damage seems too low
@@icerainbear911yeah I’m not sure how Jamie has the advantage in this match up when Marisa can win some rounds with 2 touches and Jamie always has to get more like 5+ including getting drinks up.
Maybe a 3 drink Jamie has an advantage in this match up but starting with no drinks I don’t see how he does
Great match. The neutral with Naruo is interesting.
Jamie’s target combo will always be the swaggiest
If only it could be used safer in block strings.
The damn thing is punish counter off any block other than the first (the jab)
Makes me very rarely use it anymore (plus it’s not even the best damage wise compared to just doing C.HP)
What exactly does drinking do for jamie, is it like "better moves" or just "better frames"
better moves, frames and damage
Jamie starts off doing 90% normal damage. Even level gives him 5% damage and effects the frame data of some moves.
Plus:
After 1 drink: he gets a dive kick, a target combo, and his jab becomes way longer (almost as long as some people’s medium punches)
2 drinks: he unlocks a special move that can go underneath the fireballs and is his best combo enter, and his F.MK (an overhead) gets a 2nd hit added like a target combo that knocks the opponent down and gives him a drink.
3 drinks: unlocks a command grab, and changes the way his B.HP works (giving it a target combo and making it stronger)
4 drinks: adds an optional second hit to his palm special, making it his optimal combo ender, and changes the way his F.HK works, and adds 3 follow ups to that forward heavy kick (a head butt, a spinning punch, and a thing where drinks) all depending on at what distance you press it.
As cool as all this may sound, a lot of it is very gimmicky and useless (like that B.HP elbow and the F.HK follows up almost never get used. This video was one of the only times I’ve seen a high level player user the B.HP target combo and he only did it once in the whole set)
The actual cool things are the new specials (especially the command grab)
He should literally stop trying to grab, since he fumbled a lot causing him a losses.
Also. He doesn't seem to increase his level pass 2 when I've seen a mass players do so to increase combos and damage.
@@dk7921I think it's because the Marisa matchup doesn't really need the third drink. I play both characters and 2 drinks Jamie is perfectly fine to deal with Marisa, so instead of focusing on trying to get more drinks, Naruo is just keeping the pressure
@@hp4387 The third drink is always worth it for that command grab
@@thomasromano9239 I can see your point but I don't think so
It could be really risky and you have a lot of tools to deal with Marisa
Against other characters of course I would try to get 3/4 drinks, but I don't don't know, man, Marisa is just not the case for me
It's just a matter of playstyle I guess
@@hp4387 With the command grab you have an unblockable move that you can follow up with big combos... regular grab doesn't do much damage. I dunno how you guys can't see the advantage in that
