I am a Commercial Piloto in Brazil, I just got my license and don't even have a job yet but stories like this make me think I haven't done enough to get what I want. This is very inspirational. Thank you Antonia Wysong for sharing a bit of your life. I am sure is going to change mine.
I am the one who had the privilege of hiring Toni for my DC-area traffic watch operation, probably 12 or 15 years ago now. She was one of the best pilots I ever had (once I taught her how to deal with crosswinds, but that's another story) and one of the nicest people ever to cross the threshold of my door. I consider myself lucky to have known her and worked with her. My wife, more recently, also was diagnosed with breast cancer so I can identify with that part of Toni's experiences as well. The fact that Toni has overcome all these obstacles and arisen to where she is with Delta now doesn't just make me feel good - I am incredibly proud of her as well. Her story is the book definition of overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles. I am gratified to have had a part in her success, and wish her the best in the future. There is nobody - nobody - who deserves it more. She is A-1, period.
This story is a true inspiration from beginning to end. She lets us in on her life, one journey at a time. Miss Antonia is a powerful voice for Cancer, Delta Airlines and for all of us.
