It's wild that the 416 has higher stationary camo than the ELC, and what makes it funnier is that because it's a medium you can boost it's camo even further with field mods giving it 5% more base camo than the ELC.
way back in the day, before the LT rework, before the tier OP tier 8 LT era(im old). we used to have a Ruinburg strat when we would put a 416 in the bushes looking at the south cap while we pushed field. worked great, full camo + camo net, meant the 416 could pretty much only get spotted via proximity. later when the tier 8 LTs became a thing, we still kept the 416 because of if firepower. good times.
Hi Skill, I love this tank but I thought it was called the frying pan. Yes, I've always called it the frying pan. I also like the Toaster and the Bathtub, two great TD's
I still have my 416. I did have controlled impact on the driver. Back when I had it, the Japanese heavy tanks came out. If one was unsupported, I could rush up next to him and he couldn't get his gun low enough to shoot me. I took the skill to not get that much damage from the bumping and the rubbing. In real life, the tactic to hull down was to back up out of a ditch to use the turret's gun elevation. It also had a fully rotational turret. Except while the driver sat in the turret, his seat was stationary to the chassis. So if you turned the turret so far to the left or right, he couldn't see.
I have always called this tank "the frying pan (of doom)". When this tank was introduced years ago, its gun was amazing. its standard AP pen is a is a bit lacking these days,
Hey there baboon master! I actually enjoyed playing this tank. I called it the the "frying pan" because I saw many times how the turret turned into a flaming pan whenever I got ammo-racked. :) Heck, it has even a proper handle for it and it resembles the IKEA 360 pans as well. Cheers!
my poptart tank :-) this grind was good for me! I thoroughly enjoyed it on my way to the 430 II... havent touched this tank since 2018 though LuL time flies by so fast...
My god, I had no idea tier VIII tech-tree mediums were THAT bad regarding their win rate. Tier VIII seems to be firmly in the hands of premium vehicles.
The problem is that not only tier 8 are totally dominated by premiums, tier 8 also historically and still is one of the weakest tier for tech tree medium tank. T-44 (although it's much better after buff), indien pz, panther II, T-34-2, pershing, T69, STA2, etc... Even if you remove all premiums tech tree mediums will still suffer a bit since other classes are simply much more powerful in this tier. (For comparison, other classes has VK100P, T28, SMV, Rhm, Progetto, T32 -- tanks that could compete decently against premiums.)
@@zeroyuki92, I am not wholly convinced, You think this is different on tier VII or tier IX? And why would it? There are hardly any mediums with decent armor, this also applies to the high tier. You might ignore that mediums get usually matched against other mediums. And where there are mediums on a tier with a lower-than-50% win rate, others must have a higher one.
@@derandere4965 Sure, I can elaborate further if you want: 1. Even before the era of Premiums being better than Tech Tree tanks, tier 8 CW/Team Training has never been utilizing MTs as part of the main meta, unlike in other tiers. (Batchats and soviet MTs had their time in the CW meta. Tier 6 was cromwell fest with some T-34-85s. Tier 8 at best might have pershing for a super weird lineup in hulldown games at best) 2. Yes, all tanks tend to be paired with tanks from the same class, but not always and much less strict compared to LT and SPG (which is why I don't bring them to the discussion). Over big number of data those differences matter. 3. In every other tiers MTs took places in the Top 10 tanks of *tech tree only* tanks based on WR. - Tier X has CS-63 and Cent AX. - Tier IX has E-50 - Tier VII has T-34-1, VK3002D, CS-44 - Tier VI has VK3001D - Tier VIII has nothing. Even if you exclude arty, the best MT is UDES at #14. However, UDES is the only decent tank for MT and the next MT is Panthera at #31. Sure, this data is affected by premium tanks. However, MT isn't necessarily the class that has most broken premiums. The class that has the most broken premiums is actually HT, and despite that TIer VIII HT still has tanks that could compete to some degree (VK100P, Caernavon, T32, or Progetto54 performed decently even in the tier where they compete against stuffs Skoda or BZs). This proven that tier VIII MTs are simply too terrible to compete against not only premiums but also every other classes. 4. Subjectively, you can ask around and see if anyone has a favorite/keeper in tier 8 Tech Tree MT. Is there anyone who could say something like "I am enjoying my grind in T69 and I will always keep this tank in the garage and play it often?". The same can be said to most other tier 8 tech tree mediums, and even stuffs like UDES or Panthera (which are the best performers for MT) are just known as decent at best. Again, different compared to HT and TD where a lot of tech tree tanks are common "keeper tanks".
@@zeroyuki92, I checked it up - you are right. I had no idea this problem was mainly a tier-VIII problem. My only counterargument is my best-performing tech tree-tank on tier VIII is the Panther II, which I play at almost 63% winrate (which is insanely good for me).
