  • This Femtosecond Laser System, residing at the Molecular Photonics Laboratories at UNSW, fires laser pulses in femtoseconds - billionths of a second. Its ability to measure how quickly an electron cools down is helping the development of hot electron solar cells, which could significantly increase the power output of solar cells. That's just simply amazing. Technology is getting pretty wild already.

It is all great, but honestly, I found windows that popup with descriptions to be cancer, they are all over the place and some sentences are placed in 2 separate boxes. This is far from conveniently readable format of presenting information.

I'm in need of a light pulse (LED or laser) in the femtosecond range, along with a photodetector with that level of resolution. Can we buy these in the commerical market yet?

Femtosecond lasers are available but very expensive (>100k usd). And there is no photodetector that can see the actual duration of that pulse, but there are detectors that can see the pulse train

Yeah. Totally inaccurate. I have 3 femtosecond lasers at home. One erbium 1550 stretched pulse oscillator, an ANDi ytterbium oscillator and a MOPA CPA. 🤷🏼‍♂️

There may be only about another handful of people like you in the world who have those kinda lasers sitting at home. Very impressive
