Informative video but at 22:50 she says a picture is made of 7 components but she interrupts herself. Have to wonder what she thought they were back then.
Helen had a remarkable talent for teaching and clearly loved every minute of it. Thanks for posting, it’s much appreciated. I hope you enjoy the other lessons as well.
Great to hear you learned something new from Helen's old Masters glazing lesson. Stay tuned for more lessons and tips. Thanks for posting and supporting the channel.
If you haven’t seen Helen’s lesson on the 5 tone values and her 5S + 5T = DR formula, it’s an excellent companion lesson to this one. Here’s the link: ua-cam.com/video/XpgbBdi-MY0/v-deo.htmlsi=HTGl_SA8qB714pab Thanks for posting, and I hope you enjoy Helen’s other lessons as well.
The last video I watched the transcript was searchable but this one the transcript is there but not searchable. Can you fix it so I can search it. Thank you.
Thanks for the feedback and bringing this to my attention. I apologize for the inconvenience. I'll look into it and see if it can be made searchable. Thanks for your patience and support
Thanks for letting us know about the website problem. I'll have it checked. However, we have been out of all of Helen's DVDs, books, brushes, etc., for many years with no plans for replenishment. Thanks for your support, it is appreciated.
It would be nice to if we can have Helen’s works and teachings available again in modern digital format. There are seldom young artists nowadays being able to explain things so well and with such a pleasant charm and sense of humor. It is very generous and kind you make it available on UA-cam. Warm greetings from the Netherlands (where Heleen and her parents were originally from).
Not a secret. eBay is a good source as you said and thrift books seems to always have a supply at very reasonable prices. Thanks for posting and supporting the channel, it's appreciated.
Don't be disappointed, but there never was a soup lesson-only top-notch oil painting lessons. In one of her later lessons, Helen even mentioned that she didn’t know how to make soup. It’s possible that the soup reference was a playful metaphor, her way of adding humor and warmth to her teaching style. Enjoy Helen’s other lessons, and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for watching!

Pinning to see if someone knows.
23:45 She lists them here but I only hear 6.
1) Composition
2) Shape
3) Tone
4) Color
5) Paint Look
6) Edges,
Ah! She was so lovely.❤️❤️❤️

This is exactly the way I was taught 61 years ago 😂 still using this technique on occasion.
Great that you've held onto this technique for so long...like trusted friends...always there when you need them.
She is really good

Hi, may I ask where I can buy the books and teaching videos? The official website of Helen seems not working.

Try Thrift Books online
It may be I'm giving away a secret, but I've purchased some of Helen's books on Ebay.
