It is fast enough! I mean, you can get along fine in traffic. But, considering it is such a nice place to be, you have the tendency to take everything a little bit slower...
0-100 in the 27 seconds range and 124 km/h max speed is not exactly fast, to be honest. Then again, as long as one knows and accepts it's pace, it is nice enough.
Although I live in a very warm country, my OM615 never reached more than 70C° even if I drive with it all day long with a huge trailer behind .. yours is already passing 80C° and it's rainy.
This is the normal temp from every 114-115-123 etc. Because it is regulated by a thermostat it is steady. And don’t matter if it it -10 or +30. If yours never came higher then 70, your thermostat was broken. Or stuck half way open. Easy to check. Let the car iddle for half an hour. Then the temp reaches 80-85 degrees. Then drive the car and when the temp is falling allot ,....... then your thermostat is not working properly
@@stentuning I've tried it .. even idling for an hour it's always at 70C° .. The thermostat is new and I mounted it myself. I'm a mechanic and this is not the only w123 that I saw that didn't exceed the 70C° .. that's why I asked you because it seemed strange a bit.
@@dieselmiro7241 i am a mechanic myself and work on Daily Base on These Cars. Are you sure that you had the correct 79 degrees Thermostat These om615-616-617 Need? Maybe the tempsender or gauge is nog working properly? Maybe it is stuck above 70?
@@stentuning It's a 72C° thermo. And it's not stuck above 70 .. the gauge works alright and even the water in the radiator isn't that hot even after a 400km journey non-stop
The 50/60 Km/h mark relates to the legal speed limit at inter-urban streets on major urban areas. Remember there are no speed limits on autobahns, hence there are no more markings at higher speeds.
This wasn’t a full acceleration test. Just a normal drive. But with 60hp and 1400kg , this isn’t faster then a trabant , I think. :) But probebly more economical and 300x more comfort :)
I dont know why people say that the 200d is slow (maybe everyone wants a rocket ship), it goes just fine....
It's slow butt , it's confortable for a short ride or a longer road :))

Put in a original 79 degrees and you are fine

Why is the area between 50 km/h and 60 km/h marked orange on the speedometer ?

Gas on R....??
That is the signal that you should start to change gears, notice revolutions are not indicated in the dashboard.
Das war ein Mercedes noch ein Mercedes. Hatte selber den 300D/W123. Der zog ein bischen besser.
I have a 300d 1981. It is very slow. I dont know why.
Do not understand...two wipers?
Yes. Why not?
@@stentuning
Ehh, because i only need one, and it is cheaper...
The W123 had two wipers, only the following model W124 had one.
How much fuel it consumes?
More than 300D, i think 10l/100km in a city and its 44kw
My parents owned a 240D, which used about 7,5-8,5l/100km. The 200D would need a little less.
8.9-9l/100km actually@@kristjanvendelin3566

Isn't this Mercedes slower than a Trabant acceleration wise?

200D 0-100: 27,4s. Trabant 601: 23,7s. So yes, even the little Trabbi was accelerating better.
