I remember when I used to play covers at bars and one day my bandmate said we were asked to add this obscure NOFX song to the playlist. I thought, "A punk song for tomorrow night? Easy, no problem..."
one thing people don't seem to talk about that much is how math rock their sound is during this period when they were first really exploding into immortality. like, there are parts of a song's evolving hook that seem to be there solely to balance out some value from earlier phrases, in an equation known only to they themselves. ribbed and longest line had the same thing going on with some songs.
@@dennisstember5062 i absolutely did not expect propagandhi to grow into something mature and profound over the years, but damned if they aren't somehow still winning the mortal game of musical chairs that's become of the bands of that era.
One more time for Ho Jo, you know I can't wait Another wasted line I'm sittin' in the corner, I can feel the weight Of my head on top of my spine There's nothing to be scared of once you've Seen the the light, reflecting through the screen A eudaemonistic life composed of tar and nicotine You know it, You know it, You know it 'Cause you've seen it, now you believe it You know it because it seems so real You know it because you've seen it, now you believe it You know it because it seems so real It seems so real, It seems so real, It seems so real Sit back and relax and do nothin', na, na, na, na You'll laugh, then you'll cry, then you'll feel nothin', na, na, na, na Implanted images of morality Images of life, they seem so real One more time for Ho Jo, what does it mean? I'm not sure I know, while looking for somebody Deep inside a dream, my sunshine turns to snow Now it's blowin' inside, I don't feel the cold Yet I'm frozen to my seat My eyes have seen the truth And still my mind admits defeat

So true. Ahead of their time for sure. Only other band that came close to this is propaghandi.

ya need to listen to RKL, this is basically nofx emulating them (and they've said this themselves).
@@allyemeraart almost everybody who likes old nofx also likes rkl, but I'm glad you're giving them the credit they deserve.
One of their best.
Masterpiece
Amazing song
One more time for Ho Jo, you know I can't wait
Another wasted line
I'm sittin' in the corner, I can feel the weight
Of my head on top of my spine
There's nothing to be scared of once you've
Seen the the light, reflecting through the screen
A eudaemonistic life composed of tar and nicotine
You know it, You know it, You know it
'Cause you've seen it, now you believe it
You know it because it seems so real
You know it because you've seen it, now you believe it
You know it because it seems so real
It seems so real, It seems so real, It seems so real
Sit back and relax and do nothin', na, na, na, na
You'll laugh, then you'll cry, then you'll feel nothin', na, na, na, na
Implanted images of morality
Images of life, they seem so real
One more time for Ho Jo, what does it mean?
I'm not sure I know, while looking for somebody
Deep inside a dream, my sunshine turns to snow
Now it's blowin' inside, I don't feel the cold
Yet I'm frozen to my seat
My eyes have seen the truth
And still my mind admits defeat
