I have no problem with the music, but recently bought a property with this used in a parking area and it is terrible, The biggest problem is it expands and buckles when the sun gets on it; this causes it to buckle upwards and then the small stones get under it and it is almost impossible to get it flat again.

Oscar, that depends on load and rainfall. Basically, the more load or rain, the deeper the subbase.On natural soil, min 4" below the grid. 6-8" strengthens and distributes the load and eats up excess water like an aquafer. the idea is to increase permeability of the land. Rainwater rejuvenates the groundwater this way and you have no drainage issues. Concrete just catches rain water and feeds it into the pipe systems collecting rubbish and chemicals back into the oceans.
