For many years I had a real to reel.... Then I got all fancy and went with records
Not sure why it’s howling like that when you adjust the volume, but the switch is probably for speed not size, and the tape you are playing back was recorded at a much slower speed.Just wrap the tape around the take up spool and continue listening.
