    Thank you for this video. We're planning to go to Iceland this mid October. We wanted to see the northern lights. I appreciate the advise about rain gear. We'll get some rain gear before we go. I didn't know about the Imagine Peace light. That will be nice to see during our visit. We live in Colorado and wind/snow is common in October. So we're used to that.

      @@IcelandwithaView You're right about some roads being closed in October. We wanted to take a tour out of Egilsstadir to see Studagil Canyon, but there are no tours in October and apparently the road is nearly impassable at that time of year. So we booked a helicopter tour to fly us over it.

    There is no way out to find the highland roads open between 6 to 20 of octomber?

    • @IcelandwithaView
      @IcelandwithaView  Рік тому

      Highland roads will close as the weather and road conditions begin to get worse. I wouldn't suggest planning your trip around the Highlands in October because there is no guarantee that the roads will be open. You may get lucky for some of them to be open at the beginning of October but they'll likely be closed and inaccessible by mid-October. The best resource for finding out road closures and conditions is www.road.is/ ~ Check this website each morning of your trip. Another option to visit the Highlands in October is to take a guided day tour with Midgard Adventure (icelandwithaview.tourdesk.is/Tour?tag=&attraction=&sort=0&pt=undefined&dt=undefined&vendor=317&onlyFavorite=false&travelmethod=&privateFilter=false&searchParameter=®ion=0&durationType=undefined). • @IcelandwithaView

      I definitely recommend renting a car. Public transportation is fine for getting around downtown Reykjavik but non-existent outside of the city. My recommendation:
