I agree! They come up with such nice color stories, the BEST at the drugstore honestly. They would corner the market if they could bring back the old formula.
I still want to know why they changed! I think the new ones are talc free-is that it? They just don’t stick as well and it’s so frustrating because they have more interesting color stories than most high end palettes!

Thank you Jenny! Believe it or not, 2.5 years after starting my channel I'm still not always comfortable in front of the camera and I think it comes off as being a little stiff sometimes. Halfway through this GRWM I started to relax (probably because it was taking way longer to film than most of my other videos), and I was able to feel more like myself.
The best thing about Winter here in the Midwest is stepping outside when it is freezing cold during a hot flash! I do not recall signing up for these, but they are real. Mary (Not Kurt)
Love this format. This is sort of like doing makeup with a friend. I actually love your eye look so I hate it was difficult to work with. I just miss the old Milani formula. It was so good and I love the color story of this eyeshadow palettes. It’s just sad that the formula sucks.

I do want to try the Wet N Wild Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator but I wish it had a sunscreen in it like the Neutrogena Protect + Tint Tint Moisturizer. You demonstrated that one and I fell in love with it. The Wet N Wild one looks wonderful on your skin so I might have to try it just because it looks and wears well. I wish Milani would change it's eye formula back to the old formula and then I'd buy most of their eye palettes. Thanks Jen. Blessings!

Happy to hear that wnw has a new concealer! Back in the day they had the best eye primer, until, they changed the formula to "sheer" and it was horrible. I will try out the tinted hydrator, too. Thanks for such thorough reviews on everything. :)
Loved the outake intro. Perfectly funny. Also really like the zoomed in eye shadow application. It helps to really see things and know what is happening. Also like that you aren't beyond perfect. Ugh the hot flashes! Started for me a few months ago... to think I used to think menopause would be a glorious reward for suffering with periods for decades. I looked up how long they last recently and the answer was horrifying 😦 it's 36°C here today (about 97°F) so I feel like I want to sit in an ice bath. It makes sleeping during the day (nightshift) near impossible...8-11 years of this might just wreck me 😫😂
Wow in the natural lighting I really couldn’t see any makeup on your face ! I’m glad you said it reminds you of the neutrogena. That’s my favorite foundation but this one is about 1/3 the price!
I just picked up a few of the new WNW 5 pan eyeshadows. The swatches were really nice. Now I have to run back to Walmart for the tinted moisturizer and concealer. Thanks for the great review!
YES! They sure are. I've just started dealing with them...I got my first one around Thanksgiving and they've been going strong ever since. I'm glad it's winter because I can just step outside and cool off. I don't know what I'm going to do in the summer though!

Which are your favorite brands that have lilac colors? I’ve tried looking up videos on UA-cam but can’t find many people reviewing purple/lilac colors.
I recently got an Etude House lavender blush from Amazon (I believe I showed it in my last haul a few weeks ago). It's pretty but very light in color. My favorite is the cream blush from Lime Crime I showed in another recent haul...it's beautiful! I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head but I'll check. They have it at Ulta as well!

Just a couple of tips and tricks. Any shimmers and glitters (regardless of brand and type of formula) work much better with a glitter glue base rather than directly on eyeshadow base or concealer. These last two aren’t “grippy” enough to hold glitter in place and it will end up all over your face. Also, dark eyeshadow blends better when blending on top of a similar color, for example that dark green would blend better on top of a lighter green or greenish shade, but by itself it’s just too dark of a color (far from skin color) to actually blend that well. I think the application of these eyeshadows needed a bit more blending work and layering of several shades, but in the end you saved it by extending the shimmer shade more into the inner lid 🙃
Thank you! Normally I would use a glitter glue but I didn't realize how glittery that shade would be...it looked like a normal shimmer shade at first. And I agree on the green. I was wishing this palette had a lighter green in it but all I had to choose from were warm neutral tones or purple which are too contrasting. 🤦🏼♀️ ❤️
@@JenPhelps oh yeah, didn’t think about the limitations of this palette, cause although it has an interesting color story, might not have many options for blending some dark shades. I wish companies would think on those needs when selecting colors for their palettes. I appreciate you trying to stick to the palette options rather than grabbing for a different palette, because that shows people how versatile the palette is. Not everyone has in their stash a bunch of options to rich for, so this type of reviews help a lot when deciding to pass or purchase a product. Thank you for the great review!
@@roselynmvm yes I wish they would think those things through a little as well. A lighter green would have been useful. They included a dark green and two shimmer greens that are very close in tone. It doesn't make a lot of sense and forces us to use a contrasting color if we want to use the green, which is frustrating!

How does a company go from a good drugstore formula to questionable quality? It’s just weird cause the market is very saturated and good choices on new launches are primordial to survive as a company. Bummer 😕
This palette reminds me of a palette from LA Girl - Haute Heat Aloha , but I don't know if it's still available. Both have a beautiful combination of colors.
Yes that is the one good thing about the new formula. But then again other talc free brands (like The Balm) work better for me. I wish they could keep them talc free but tweak the formula a bit.
The WnW skin tint looks interesting but releasing only 7 shades is disappointing to me. My skin tone isn’t easy to match and having few choices just makes this another one that would be tough for me.
The way I test under eye concealers: After application and having made it look flawless, smooth and cakeless... LAUGH! And see all the fine lines appear that were not there before application :/
I know you’ve been asking for feedback, and that is the only reason I’m leaving this comment, as I’d normally just keep scrolling, so to speak. I’m halfway through and I’m ready to move on. I made a point of watching your Sunday hauls almost religiously, but this isn’t hitting the mark for me. I’ve heard you talk about not being able to film as much, which is completely your perogative, so no arguments about that, but as a pretty loyal viewer, I can say that this feels lacking in some way. Maybe because the Sunday hauls really were unique and special and set you apart from everything else on the platform. They really sparkled. This feels more “done a dozen.” Please know that I’m a huge fan, and I hate to leave a comment that might not feel positive, but I’m also wondering if others might feel the same?

To be honest with you, I DON'T like watching GRWM videos myself (I find them boring) which is why I started doing the Sunday hauls in the first place. But my haul video views have been dwindling all throughout 2020 which is why I took a step back and wondered if maybe not a lot of viewers found them helpful anymore. So when I polled everyone, over 60% said they would rather see this style. So I'm testing it out to see if my views on this video are better than my hauls. If not, then maybe I can reconsider, but it's disheartening when I work so hard putting those hauls together and then they get low views. So we'll see what happens...nothing is set in stone right now, just trying to feel out what's best for my channel growth. 🥰❤️
It is definitely NOT your technique, Jen! It is that formula. I'm so disappointed milani changed their eyeshadow formula to this one. I guess I will just stick with colourpop! At least they manufacture all their stuff so are unlikely to drastically change their wonderfully consistent formula.
Why didn't Milani stick to the eyeshadow formula they used for the soft and sultry palette?! That palette was amazing! Why do brands release one really good quality product, and then release one that sucks? Just stick to the good formulas!
I love how you show real life! I struggle with getting my eyeshadow to look like the other gurus I follow, they always look perfect. That being said your eyeshadow actually looks fine and if you struggled I'm guessing it's more about that awful Milani formula vs your ability. ❤️❤️❤️
I have a hard time blending too! I just can't get it!! I got all new brushes thinking that was it, then got better eyeshadow, that wasn't it. I now use a better eye primer (Urban Decay) and I'm having better luck, blending is still to be desired, but it is much better!

Tbh I found the Milani eyeshadows disappointing BEFORE they changed their formula, I honestly found the soft & sultry palette to be very meh when compared to Too Faced or Tarte's similar palettes - so I wouldn't even try the new formula lol. Seeing your review hasn't changed my mind so I appreciate the heads up!:)
Your Sunday haul videos have been something I love so much and look forward to every week. I'll admit that I will miss them but I'm also really excited about the changes. I can't wait to try this foundation and concealer!

That Wet and Wild Tinted Hydrator looks so pretty on the skin, and it does look like you're wearing highlighter! If I have to wear a mask, I like these lighter coverage options, because why waste good foundation right? I think with eyeshadows blending easier, try going in with less product upon application, blend it out, and then go back in with a second layer and blend. If you go in heavier at first, it's harder to blend out. 😊
I like the tart big ego and grande lash, both make my lashes bold which I like...but, I have long-ish dark lashes that go clear on the tip. When I put on mascara it tends to smear/smudge on my glasses. I probably should use waterproof but don't like trying to get it off, is there a mascara that can give me a bold eyelash without smudging my glasses?

I believe she had her own, but his was Elf's main eye shadow primer. It was like Mac paint pot but better coverage and the perfect color.

Yes it's very invisible coverage! But I do think it gives a bit more than the Neutrogena...it's not as sheer.

Just a couple of tips and tricks. Any shimmers and glitters (regardless of brand and type of formula) work much better with a glitter glue base rather than directly on eyeshadow base or concealer. These last two aren’t “grippy” enough to hold glitter in place and it will end up all over your face. Also, dark eyeshadow blends better when blending on top of a similar color, for example that dark green would blend better on top of a lighter green or greenish shade, but by itself it’s just too dark of a color (far from skin color) to actually blend that well.
I think the application of these eyeshadows needed a bit more blending work and layering of several shades, but in the end you saved it by extending the shimmer shade more into the inner lid 🙃
Thank you! Normally I would use a glitter glue but I didn't realize how glittery that shade would be...it looked like a normal shimmer shade at first. And I agree on the green. I was wishing this palette had a lighter green in it but all I had to choose from were warm neutral tones or purple which are too contrasting. 🤦🏼♀️ ❤️
@@JenPhelps oh yeah, didn’t think about the limitations of this palette, cause although it has an interesting color story, might not have many options for blending some dark shades. I wish companies would think on those needs when selecting colors for their palettes. I appreciate you trying to stick to the palette options rather than grabbing for a different palette, because that shows people how versatile the palette is. Not everyone has in their stash a bunch of options to rich for, so this type of reviews help a lot when deciding to pass or purchase a product. Thank you for the great review!
@@roselynmvm yes I wish they would think those things through a little as well. A lighter green would have been useful. They included a dark green and two shimmer greens that are very close in tone. It doesn't make a lot of sense and forces us to use a contrasting color if we want to use the green, which is frustrating!
@@JenPhelps and Milani is not even new in the makeup market so they should know better. They also should have better formulas at this point. How does a company go from a good drugstore formula to questionable quality? It’s just weird cause the market is very saturated and good choices on new launches are primordial to survive as a company. Bummer 😕

This palette reminds me of a palette from LA Girl - Haute Heat Aloha , but I don't know if it's still available. Both have a beautiful combination of colors.

What's nice about Milani is there is no talc in their formula.
Yes that is the one good thing about the new formula. But then again other talc free brands (like The Balm) work better for me. I wish they could keep them talc free but tweak the formula a bit.

The WnW skin tint looks interesting but releasing only 7 shades is disappointing to me. My skin tone isn’t easy to match and having few choices just makes this another one that would be tough for me.
I agree! I was assuming that the limited shade range was due to it being so sheer but it's actually quite pigmented!

The way I test under eye concealers: After application and having made it look flawless, smooth and cakeless... LAUGH! And see all the fine lines appear that were not there before application :/

I know you’ve been asking for feedback, and that is the only reason I’m leaving this comment, as I’d normally just keep scrolling, so to speak. I’m halfway through and I’m ready to move on. I made a point of watching your Sunday hauls almost religiously, but this isn’t hitting the mark for me. I’ve heard you talk about not being able to film as much, which is completely your perogative, so no arguments about that, but as a pretty loyal viewer, I can say that this feels lacking in some way. Maybe because the Sunday hauls really were unique and special and set you apart from everything else on the platform. They really sparkled. This feels more “done a dozen.”
Please know that I’m a huge fan, and I hate to leave a comment that might not feel positive, but I’m also wondering if others might feel the same?

To be honest with you, I DON'T like watching GRWM videos myself (I find them boring) which is why I started doing the Sunday hauls in the first place. But my haul video views have been dwindling all throughout 2020 which is why I took a step back and wondered if maybe not a lot of viewers found them helpful anymore. So when I polled everyone, over 60% said they would rather see this style. So I'm testing it out to see if my views on this video are better than my hauls. If not, then maybe I can reconsider, but it's disheartening when I work so hard putting those hauls together and then they get low views. So we'll see what happens...nothing is set in stone right now, just trying to feel out what's best for my channel growth. 🥰❤️
It is definitely NOT your technique, Jen! It is that formula. I'm so disappointed milani changed their eyeshadow formula to this one.
I guess I will just stick with colourpop! At least they manufacture all their stuff so are unlikely to drastically change their wonderfully consistent formula.

I have a hard time blending too! I just can't get it!! I got all new brushes thinking that was it, then got better eyeshadow, that wasn't it. I now use a better eye primer (Urban Decay) and I'm having better luck, blending is still to be desired, but it is much better!

Tbh I found the Milani eyeshadows disappointing BEFORE they changed their formula, I honestly found the soft & sultry palette to be very meh when compared to Too Faced or Tarte's similar palettes - so I wouldn't even try the new formula lol. Seeing your review hasn't changed my mind so I appreciate the heads up!:)

The product descriptions..lol. The skin tint looks promising. Hopefully there is a fair shade that that has a cooler undertone.
That Wet and Wild Tinted Hydrator looks so pretty on the skin, and it does look like you're wearing highlighter! If I have to wear a mask, I like these lighter coverage options, because why waste good foundation right? I think with eyeshadows blending easier, try going in with less product upon application, blend it out, and then go back in with a second layer and blend. If you go in heavier at first, it's harder to blend out. 😊
I like the tart big ego and grande lash, both make my lashes bold which I like...but, I have long-ish dark lashes that go clear on the tip. When I put on mascara it tends to smear/smudge on my glasses. I probably should use waterproof but don't like trying to get it off, is there a mascara that can give me a bold eyelash without smudging my glasses?
