"Like a father" makes me question how much guidance this man needs.
Trevor said that he was joking in the Locker Room that he was going to be drafted to Thursday (TNA). I think he is great, and I loved him in NXT but putting that statement out there.. in the locker room.. is just giving up. Sure, he was joking/worried about it, but clearly he wasn't being used much on TV.
Did he ask Otis, Tazawa, or R Truth advice on how to get into those comedy bits? Did he suggest linking himself to a faction to take the pinfalls? Did he consider becoming a Viking Warrior for instance? If a character or gimmick isn't getting over, find a way to help someone that WWE always keeps as a utility player. Notice that Ciampa hooked up with the Miz for awhile.. that was smart. Notice how JD MsDonagh inserted himself into the Judgement Day.. sure he had an 'in' with Fin Balor, but.. he used it! Keeping quiet and just 'doing what you are told' doesn't make people want to fight to keep you around. You have to show them you are hungry, adaptable, and a team player..and sometimes that means pitching ideas.
Trevor is still young and I am confident he will find a way back to WWE but they have so much talent. He seems like a perfect fit to be an understudy/acolyte for an older wrestler who can't take bumps anymore (or doesn't want to). Randy Orton teaming up with Riddle was awesome. Maybe Trevor could have teamed up with AJ Styles? Trevor as a mini-me version of Matt Hardy could also do wonders for both of them (Trevor taking all the bumps, but learning from Matt). I wish Trevor all the best.
Cameron Grimes Deserve to be in Smackdown
I can recall Shane Helms was managing Trevor Lee & Andrew The Giant when they appeared in TNA. Was it in 2017? Not sure, but I've seen them and Trevor was the one I didn't know at that point.
I was a fan of his in NXT. His feud with L.A Knight (YEAH!) over The Million Dollar belt/Ted's approval was great. He was clearly over with the fans, they loved singing along to his catchphrase... Then they made him shave his body hair and trim his beard. He had a unique look that was ruined.
Groomed Grimes is like Kross with hair.

Matt and Jeff are WWE legends. I'm pretty sure they will take them back at any time.
