In general, if considering match ups between Fairy Tail and strong One Piece characters, remember that most powerful Marines/pirates can move faster than the eye can see and casually punch holes in battleships. Logia can also ignore physical attacks and shrug off being sliced in half. Fairy Tail has massively powerful single attacks(clashing moves are big for them, less so for One Piece), but that's about all they've got going for them. Consider that Aokiji is someone with Juvia's intangibility, strength at LEAST on par with Gildarts, possibly greater if going by physical might alone, and the speed to fight Racer. He is an Admiral, part of the most powerful force in the Marines. It would be a disgrace if such a powerful man would go down to Gray. Sorry if I overexplained, I just needed to vent a little. :)
