Laura, you did an outstanding job on this video! The research and photos you provided were so interesting! I had not pictured the 1940’s to be as innovative and interesting as they clearly were! ✨Thank you, Deirdre
so interesting how scarce nylon stockings were, sparking riots, and now I don’t know anyone (in person) who wears them, not even my mom (excluding winter tights). I know British royalty does but yeah... Americans have gone so casual. 🙃
Hi Laura, Enjoyed your video. Love the old movies?? Would love to hear more about Veronica Lake and Rita Hayworth ( she was in the 1840’s movie Gilda which is a good one. 😊 too)
Just an FYI at time stamp 1:46 in the videotape man was drunk and forcefully kissed that woman she even talked about it in an interview I think. Also in the picture you can tell that the kiss was forced because she was not holding/touching him but from research I’ve done many women claim to be the girl in the photo. So some stories may be true and some may not.
I know in 2 hours late .... you are absolutely beautiful and gorgeous! Anyway I am very fond of you’re videos and thank you so very much for them! I absolutely love Bing Crosby Frank Sinatra Dean Martin Perry Como ! Enough about me! Thank you for you’re wonderful videos!
Favorite 1940's Christmas movie, "I'll Be Seeing You" with Ginger Rogers, Joseph Cotten and Shirley Temple. War time movie, returning home shell-shocked soldier and a woman on a holiday pass from prison. Amazing Shirley can be cute in this movie.
@@tonyadenton9196 Another good Christmas movie is "A Child's Christmas in Wales". I really love that one too. Dylan Thomas's boyhood Christmas in Wales early 1910's, I think.
@@jmr8709 There is so many I haven't seen, but seen one just a few nights ago called " It Happened On 5th Avenue " 1947 it was a nice storyline a very unusual one.
I'm not a fan of Citizen Kane because the plot was so dull and boring. I did like Casablanca because of Bogart. As for It's A Wonderful Life it really didn't do well at the box office at all. It became a Christmas classic decades later when they started airing it on TV.

I love the fashion of the 1940’s. It is so flattering except for the shoulder pads, but women looked so elegant.
A+ video!
It's a classic, such a great video!
I absolutely love this video!!! You are like a vintage goddess!!💕
Thanks Valerie
I agree!
So true
Good job on the video. I enjoyed it. The 40’s is one of my favorites in regards to fashion.

Fred MacMurray is a hunk in this movie.
Me too, great movie!!
Love the vintage videos. It is a lesson in history of the best kind❤
Yet another fun relaxing video. 🍷
Great video! I love Veronica Lake! Maybe you could do a video on her. Also a video on vanities from the 1920s to 1970s. That would be great! ❤🌻
I love fashion from the 1940's. Everyone looked so

That hot dog potato salad was the surprise of this video for me.
People could make jello because they finally got refrigerators. Couldn’t do it before.

My favorite video so far :-) I wish you made a jello dish lol
Haha me too! I might make one for another video
Funny, just as soon as junior mints are mentioned, I think of that Seinfeld episode as well.

Great presentation….but maybe you might think about an addendum? Dior’s revolutionary New Look debuted in February, 1947.
VERY🎄🎅🔔❄ INTERESTING,,, AMEN🙏🙏🙏!!!
THANK YOU🌹😊🌹 FOR THIS VIDEO AND YOUR OTHER UPLOADS!!!
Millenial Americans are shocked at how processed the food was in the mid 20th century usa. Little wonder millenials like Simple Irish food nowadays!!

You left out pearl harbor?
This is a pop culture trends video.
Veronica Lake never got the credit she deserved. There were only 2 people present at her induction on the walk of fame.
I never knew that... She should be so much more well-know today.

Sounds like a good movie, i watch nothing but old movies have for most of my life and I'm 52. Wish i had a time machine.

Love you, but it's "Wild-er," not "Wid-ler," as in famous director Billy Wilder.
I said wilder is my Canadian accent
What about what men wore? 😔
Rosie the Riveter
All the adds in these videos just ruined it for me. Never seen so many adds!!!
That’s out of my control
Love this but it’s -cah-SA-blAH-ca
