This is a bit late, but I'd say it's probably due to heat loss to the combustion chamber walls -- wicked good at cooling. It's why efficiency goes up with speed until friction kicks in.

Also, include the meaning of Vs in compression ratio equation.
Vs means swept volume
Iv means inlet valve,
Ev means exchust valve,
Tdc meand top dead center,
Bdc means bottom dead center
