Beautiful! In Germany, we call that instrument "Hackbrett" (Dulcimer). The dulcimer originated in Persia. It has been known there as an important classical instrument (santoor) since the early Middle Ages. From there it travelled to China, Korea and northern India. It is quite possible that the trapezoidal dulcimer has the same origin, as the early instruments in Italian paintings from around 1430, played with two clappers, were rectangular and had only a few strings. First mentioned in Switzerland in a Zurich council book in 1447, it is shrouded in mystery. It is said to have been played at royal courts. Later devalued as a dance instrument and rather despised, it survived mainly in Appenzell and Toggenburg, but also in Upper Valais. The dulcimer was mainly used in folk music. In Eastern Europe it is known as an instrument for gypsies and travelling musicians. The dulcimer is known by various names: Psaltery, salterio, pantaleon, cymbalon, tympanum.
Very interesting
That was very interesting. I was just wondering if a dulcimer can also be called a zither?
Merci pour ces explications complètes et très claires 👏😉🙂
@@user-oq2bg9pj6n. 😊 En effet, cet instrument appartient à la famille des cithares !
@@francoise522 Thank you. I wondered as when I was very young we saw an instrument like that at school and they called it a Zither. I have never heard of dulcimer until recently.
That was absolutely incredible. Thanks for bringing so much joy to the world!!!
It is beautiful! And it's funny how the combination of those 2 sound like a real harpsichord
Great talent attracts great talent.....thank you both!
Two amazing instrumentalists!! That was awesome!
Wow! That was so awesome! Beautiful collaboration of instruments.
looks like a hammered dulcimer to me, what a cool performance!
Bizim Marşı'mız❤❤❤
That's exactly what it is.
@@andyjones9386 Technically, it's a 3-course, a dulcimer's usually 2-course, but the word's used more widely to cover santoors and cimbaloms as well
Bravissima! What a lovely smile the dulcimer player has.

@@dashpringer ещё что нибудь сыграйте вместе 😊
It seems a Xylophone to me or a "salterio" (in Mexico there's an instrument called that way)
❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful arrangement though I had guessed that the instrument is a xylophone.
Hey beautiful 😍
That instrument looks cool. What is it.
It’s Cymbals:)
@@dashpringer I was nowhere near that mark. I thought it was a xylophone.
@@mohork Its Cimbalom, also known as cimbaly, cymbalon, czimbalom, zimbalon, or zymbalum, is a fascinating musical instrument with a trapezoidal box on legs, metal strings stretched across its top, and a damping pedal underneath. It was designed by V. Josef Schunda in 1874 in Budapest, based on modifications to existing folk dulcimers in Central and Eastern Europe. Today, the cimbalom is mainly played in Hungary, Slovakia, Moravia, Belarus, Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine. (courtesy ChatGPT 😁)

Why cannot I find Dash a on Google?
Hi 🎹
Hello 😊
I think Mozart would role over in his grave if he knew what his music is used for.
